Good evening all. 46F at the start, clear, breezy. Cold front went through last night, only warned to 58F and temps dropping off to freezing in the morning. Wife has been having sleeping issues, we are looking for new mattress, very unrewarding. Also worked on garage organization, can now pull in both vehicles and close garage door(and lubed them). Pulled some weeds, fertilized 3 trees, and went for a ride, and had a fire tonight

3 strings (9 panels) of PV installed - 2520watts and producing. Another 21 panels to go. Slower than expected, but safety first when working on a roof. Celebrated by taking my Canadian helper friend and wife to dinner. Hoping for another nice day tomorrow.

Just above freezing right now...supposed to hit about 60 and we'll see some rain today. Not sure what I'll do today...might run down to the field and pop off a few dozen .22 rounds.

I've been trying to get my e-mail squared away the last week or so. Although the e-mail application (Outlook 2003) is set to delete the e-mails on the server, it's not doing that. So, I'm downloading messages that have been downloaded (repeatedly). Right now, I'm waiting for >800 e-mails to down load. Comcast's tech service competency has dropped dramatically over the last several years. I've been dealing with some real...well, incompetent to put it nicely, people over the last week. And that's after having to listen to the "automated" tech service for 5 minutes of so before I can talk to a real human being. Very frustrating...

I shouldn't be up this early on a weekend...

60 some showers later very windy temperatures falling to 33 for low back up to 70s next week but it is getting dry and now instead of a wet spring some are forecasting very dry conditions thru the summer and drought in GA, SC, NC, and Va

57 going to 74 after yesterday's 78. Big t-storms coming in this afternoon.

Coco turned 3 years old yesterday, so used it for an excuse to drive her by the place she was born up in the mountains and go for a nice long hike. T shirt and shorts hiking in the mountains in February is a new record. Last time we were on this particular trail, it was covered in snow and ice and my wife slipped and broke her arm. So we were extra careful yesterday.

PJ, sounds like your home project is coming along...sorry for the small delay.

Some wildflowers were blooming and saw lots of flowering forsythia and pear on the drive.

Drew, that chipper looks awesome, and hungry.

I need to go clean out my asparagus bed before those guys start popping out of the ground. Then start on the job of swapping out the blades on my tiller so that will be ready.

Waking up at 4:00 and it was already 56 degrees..wow ! No jacket in February is unheard of around here. Will be out running errands and hopefully wiring in some low voltage area lights that need replacing. Snow is almost all gone again. To muddy for tractor work.

26 now and going to a high of 39 with periods of drizzle. At least there wont be any thunder storms like last night.
Block heater is plugged in and I will go out about 10 and clean up yesterdays mess.

40F cloudy now maybe mid 60's for high,showers later tonight.
Snow taking good whipping brooks/streams are singing there song,to muddy for tractor use even walking many places.
Today's plan of attack not really sure,guess take it as it comes.

59 out this AM. Just got back in from checking my skunk traps. Nothing. Will have to bring them in tonight since rain is expected. Need to run into the front side of the property and see if a tree came down last night. Could have sworn I heard a crash when I was sleeping. Maybe a dream?

More yard work today before the rain starts, just lots of cleanup, the koi-less pond needs to be mucked out. More room for the frogs and turtles.

Good morning. The wind is up again this morning, nowhere near as severe as Thursday but enough to make it a bit of a fight when opening the door on the tractor.

Kyle, Dawes used to build some of the very best touring bikes, beefed up "racing bikes" that were a favorite of many intrepid souls who packed a few items into the front and rear panniers and then rode around the world, needing only a couple of spokes for spares.

A belated Happy Birthday to Coco ! Was there a birthday present, a glow-in-the-dark Frisbee for early morning play ?

32 and getting colder thru the day, down to 25. More normal temps, but I really miss the 60's we had early this week. Off to help the wife a bit, then on to fixing the dryer door, the latch kit came in yesterday.

Poured first cup of coffee. 45° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 66° with partly cloudy skies. Yesterdays trip to art fair was very enjoyable. Temperature was a few degrees warmer than in the place where where are staying.

Mostly, had similar problem with mattress a few years ago. Got a Sleep Number. We both are happy. My side at 30. Hers is set to 75.
Randy, I can remember have to go back to work after having the flu. Those were long tiring days. Take your time and get your strength back.

Finish setting up chicken coops and pack feed. Then turn on heaters.

Mostly, my wife says that our next bed will be powered base and she is keeping the remote. I snore really bad when I lay flat or sit up. Not real sure how that base will help. Currently we have a temper pedic I sleep better but she doesn't.

Went over to a buddies place yesterday. He's doing dirt work for 4 new chicken barns. He was showing me where everything is going to go. I mentioned that I didn't remember there already being a pond in the middle of where he's going to put his new pond. He laughed. Said until last week it was just a spring. The excavator found it. Think it was a 324 Cat. Ended up with mud inside the cab before they got it out. Said mud was at the split in the C on the back panel. So roughly the top of the seat deep inside cab. Also had a D6-N hung with it. With a different operator the excavator self extracted and then pushed the dozer out. Both machines still onsite and running. Said new pond was about 8 feet deep already.

Ground out there was really soft my pickup was sinking 3-4 inches but not leaving a cleat track.

Randy, I can remember have to go back to work after having the flu. Those were long tiring days. Take your time and get your strength back.

I don't have much choice! I feel very slightly better, but not sure I don't have a sinus infection holding me back a bit. First time I've had the flu in 35-40 years, I don't want it again!

Buppies, I saw a good write up by a local meteorologist, he basically agrees, hot and dry starting late spring and lasting into August, for this whole region. A little disagreement or uncertainty on how warm it will be between now and early May.
Drew, that chipper seems like a lot of trouble, I'll come pick it up and save you all that work!

I put 3 out of 6 Better boy tomato plants on one end of the garden yesterday. Near the edge because it is still too wet to step into it.

I don't usually snore, and neither does my wifey. But we could sure use a new bed. It just makes my head hurt worse than my back when I see the prices....Ouch.

8 o'clock decaf with some hot chocolate mixed in for flavor. Yummy.

Nice chipper Drew. Someday, you'll need a canopy to put up out on the road for a fruit stand to sell all your fruit.

Drew, I was thinking of you and the new chipper as I was driving along my trails looking at all the discarded branches and tress along the side of the trail. I sure would be nice to clean up the discards and dead and fallen trees over the last several years. But that would entail a few years more work. I'll leave mine to rot or for the next owner, which ever comes first. They don't bother me THAT much! Maybe if I had 30 acres or so it would be doable. . . .

I sure would like the mulch for the garden, I would get some good organic compost going and in a year would have the best garden ever.

Do you have any plans on how, or if, you plan on getting the mulch collected into a pile? Do they make a bag to put on the end of the chute like my Sears mulcher.
