Eric is there any possibility that the rail folks will pay for a new tarmac?

My bargaining powers with the rail people is limited because I don't own the track, or the land where they are working. I will be more than satisfied if they are paying to surface with crushed granite. Our weather often hovers around freezing in winter and tarmac surfaces that are not treated can all too easily turn into sheets of invisible ice. With a bend at the bottom of the incline, a rough surface track is probably much safer than smooth tarmac.

Frosty and foggy here this morning, the sun is still searching for a way to break through. Looking straight up the half moon is still shining brightly.

From now on I'll just stick to the weather so as not to further ruffle any feathers.

Good Morning@ 49F @ 9:00AM. Considerable cloudiness with occasional rain showers. Thunder possible. High 44F. Winds SSE at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 70%.

RNG, weather reporting is ok, however I'm really missing all your other tales - and you just gotta wish everyone a happy Trump day today ! (of course not being an American citizen, I can't say that :) Seriously, I hope your new presidents unconventional ways do a lot of good for your country )

45 high of 56 rain thru mid day. Eric dealing with large corporations can be a pain. Might go out of town this weekend just depends. Reworking plumbing in bathroom but slow going all sewer lines redone rerouting water lines now. Insulation in hopefully today rough in plumbing for shower heads today I hope as well.

Electrical rough in done all can lights one fan and one can light fan. The can light fans are really neat and work very well have these upstairs when that remodel was done several years ago. Cabinets to be installed first week of Feburary. Shower walls floor and ceiling to be done in tile floor different than walls.
Along process but hopefully will be nice when done.

45 going to a warm 64 today with wet weather coming in.
I'm going to drive to the tree nursery place today and investigate pecans, walnuts and figs. Plan is for three figs, six English walnuts and 12 pecans.
that should keep the squirrels deliriously happy

RNG, more pics of the bluemobile please!! it must be almost done, right?...

Buppies, I read multiple shower heads, sounds like a nice shower. Keep going, don't mind that insulation itch.

Don, does that "red party" have anything to do with IH red? New term for me. A pagan dance around old Farmalls? :dance1:

39 going to 52 and rain.

David, your dogs look very comfy...our son lets his boxer on his couch...imagine her surprise the first time she jumped on ours with me standing there...we don't let our dog on the furniture. So, she jumped down and promptly went to our dog's bed and took over instead.

Buppies, remodel sounding good. We have a bathroom we want to remodel...probably tackle it this spring.

Yes, RNG, please come back.

House was built in 1995 some places they cut corners and one was the bathroom. We completely gutted the room removing shower and garden tub in the process. Replacing with one large shower with dual shower heads his and hers three Windows and moved commode to another wall. Lost a closet in the process but bathroom cabinet and sinks more than make up for if. Tile floors will be heated for those chilly mornings when your piggys get cold

Some of us might be annoying others, not a perfect world.
Several of us are very wordy. I'm a frustrated college professor I think. For which I apologize if I am up on some kind of soapbox, probably a mental dais of some kind...For the record...years ago I asked if this was a problem and was told no. Just no politics (I have to tell you I cringe now every time I open up cnn.com and see the headlines...RNG, you aren't alone in being concerned) which belongs you know where, if your skin is tough and you like a mosh pit atmosphere. No one wants that here. This is a place we come to say hello, electronically shake hands, and talk over coffee, all day long. We share our accomplishments and sorrows.

I have learned an incredible amount from TxDon here on better eating habits,
and constantly wondered what the world looked like through Mostly's goggles whizzing along
or through RNG's windshield as he goes through some mountain pass.
And who could forget RS's building the Eiffel Tower, the long progression of welded gizmos
which he built into all kinds of things. One year we worried he was going to freeze, next year we worried if his commercial building's
pipes were going to freeze, and I think his explaining what he was going through really helped others.

I also remember reading this thread on a laptop when my wife spent almost 200 days in the hospital, and I got through it by
distracting myself with dreams of vegetables growing and machinery to run. And how early Roy was getting up. And whether he
got to work ontime due to the ice, which I was very glad I wasn't driving on. And I'm sure David/Sodamo felt the same way.
And whether David/Mossflower would smile again, which he sure did, as he weathered
the pain of a divorce with kids. And living with all those women...such a lucky man, even if his snow plow truck is on its last legs.

Over time you learn a lot here. Some of the big posts should probably have had their own threads. Ok.
I try to contribute by posting pictures and perhaps when I get it right making a picture with words.
that's hard to abbreviate...

I blame my verbosity on not owning a smart phone. Never had to text, never had to abbreviate. LOL...

Oh, we should avoid religion too...religion and politics really do stir up the works. And our coffee has already been stirred...;)

RNG, open that chromed lever of knowledge you have...drops of weather aren't enough.

Weather? you bet. But the other stuff is better...as long as the owners don't mind us eating up terrabytes, and the OP doesn't mind, I think the diversity in this thread is what makes it last. And be the biggest I think. Although discussions of motor oil must come close. Men and their motor oil. Even bigger than Green vs Orange.

40 out this AM. Rain showers will start pushing through shortly, I can smell it. Went into DC last night. Now that was a fun trip.

No more maul time for a while. I actually have finger holes in my leather gloves. Feel pretty good, but it is too much work, have about 60 logs left to split, really need a splitter, the wood is just too hard.

Have a great day all, today is a new beginning, in more ways than one!

Be safe.

Morning all.
Temp 28 going to 36 and freezing rain advisory in effect.
I sure hope the mechanic gets up here today and we get the tractor running again. I still have chains to put on, too.

Ron, I always watch parts of Barrett-Jackson on Velocity...looks like a fun place and huge crowd. Lots of cars going for over $100K this year.

Poured second cup of coffee. 51° with rain this morning. Heading to 55° with more rain in afternoon. My left ankle is throbbing from all the walking yesterday. Amazing some of the 70's Chevelle's selling for $70k. While very nice custom cars went for $40k. Walked over 5 miles and did not see all the cars.
Don, good news on the Farmall.
Gary, I was thinking of you when I saw the replica. It sold for $11k. There was a M JD next to it. But could not make out the price. Both headed to Canada.
David S, that's going to be me until my ankle feels better.
Buppies, bath remodel was first item we did after retirement. Original was done in early 50's. Is much more comfortable now.
Drew, good post.
Good Morning All.
