The wound has closed and she is doing good. She had to chase a pitbull and a doberman off the property the other day. One of the new bull calves was wanting to investigate us while walking to the mailbox and when Whipper saw us stop she knew it was her job to get that bull away from us, which she did happily. All is good, no new poisonous snake bites just a few rat snake nips.

I wish I had a pair of whippers.

77F and cloudy, with a big area of showers/thunderstorms about an hour or two west of us. High today predicted to be 81F. It's already rained here but it looks like more is on the way so it will be an inside day.

Yesterday I got the steel cut for the mount for the 2nd hydraulic reservoir and the widening of the table grate, got the mount welded up and welded onto the splitter. Welded in a pipe bung for a drain on the reservoir as it didn't come with one, need to leak test that today and drill a couple of pieces of angle to bolt the reservoir to, and weld those on. Also did a little more splitting.

After that will start working on widening the table grate.

If I have any time left, will probably start working on the guards for the rear of the splitter and change the oil in the HF engine.

RS with the extra tank does it make the tongue weight too heavy?

   / Good morning!!!! #49,945
Well the pool is covered for the winter, just need to drill 4 3/4 holes in the concrete for the anchors that did not line up with the new safity cover. The pool place wanted $1100 to $1500 last years prices for the cover and I got this one for $634 shipped. Hope to take it easy for the rest of the day.

RS you ought to take up welding as a hobby, you look like you are good at it.

RS with the extra tank does it make the tongue weight too heavy?
No, it actually makes it lighter ... since the tongue is typically on the other end, which is actually the "front".

The only scenario where it would make it heavier is if I'm splitting into a pile off the end of the splitter, rather than the loader bucket or a trailer.

In that case, the drawbar get swapped to rear ... to pull the splitter away from the pile once it gets big enough that I'm having to work too much chuckin' splits.

Even then, it's not a problem ... just hook it to the ball in the receiver on the boxblade, lock in the coupler and lower the box blade to raise the foot on the opposite end and then reposition ... ;)

 You got me, I saw the receiver and automatically thought that end connected to the pull vehicle.

If your weather is anything like ours, you will be having a good start to your Sunday too. We are enjoying plenty of warm sun to chase the mist away, although it's taking some time as there is very little wind.

I never expected to have a conversation with someone just turned 6 on how useful pallets and forks are. After he toured my pallets of brick, pallet with a hydraulic breaker, pallet with water tank and pallets storing yet more pallets, the grandson told me they were also very good for moving vessels containing Kryptonite ?

He let me take a picture to show you all his fork lift truck.

Says I have to tell you that the tubes on the sides of the cab are rocket launchers (Just hope that's not giving RS or Roy plans for a little customization project and blast away at the snow drifts).

Yes, a really bright moon these last few days. Long lasting too, it was still clearly visible at the top of the hill this morning.

67 going to 87.

Finally sawed the big cedar in half that has created a clogged up dam across my creek...pulled it out with the tractor. Then busted up enough of the dam to let more water flow. Found this spotted salamander in the mud and debris...about 6 inches long and big around as my thumb. Hopefully we'll get some rain tonight and tomorrow to fill the creek again, and wash some of the debris downstream.

61 high of 85 later today bright sunshine. Grass not growing but weeds are, pond is now down one foot this dry weather is starting to take its toll. Leaves are starting to fall as well and a fawn has taken up residence without its mother. The white spots are almost gone and she seems content eating grass out of the front yard and living by the pine thicket next to the pond

Eric wish I had some rocket launchers on my fork lift
