55F @ 6:20 AM. Sun and clouds mixed. A stray shower or thunderstorm is possible. High 82F. Winds NW at 10 to 15 mph.
Happy Birthday Gary!

Just a thought on your "spider" bite, Don. If it instead came from a tick, and that tick had Lyme Disease, antibiotics can stop it if administered in the first few weeks. Wait too long and you'll end up with an incurable disease.
With your first dialog, Eric, you had me worried that an English version of Green Acres' Hank Kimble would be our narrator, and am relieved at your Dad's writing style. Looking forward to more posts, but it'll be hard to top the Pond Chronicles.
More spot weld drilling yesterday, what a difference a sharp drill bit can make. My forty year old Craftsman sets have been infiltrated with lesser quality Vermont American bits, especially in the more fragile smaller sizes. Those other drills dull quickly and require much more time and effort to do their work. So I've been working my way through the smaller number drills, most of which are still Craftsman. Unfortunately the sharpness and durability of the Craftsman drills comes at the cost of brittleness, and I've broken several of them as a result. And now that I appreciate the difference, I'll have to look somewhere other than the local hardware store for quality replacements.
Still have more spot welds to drill around the windshield today. I thought I had them all done, only to realize that I'd only made it through the first of three layers of steel. Since I'm drilling these from the back, I'll have to go through one more sheet before they let go of the roof. I did manage to cut through one of the pillars, and had it not been for the above mentioned lack of depth, would have had a corner of said roof loose. Three more of those cuts and the roof should come free.
