Peter,
I’ve been watching H2O Mechanic’s frac’ing videos for probably better than a year ?
After I found out about about water well frac’ing and discovered his videos.
Think I might have even linked to one of them on this thread.
Knew he was in was central VA as he had mentioned it previously but until about a week ago I hadn’t bothered to track down his exact location.
IIRC, it’s either Clarksburg or Clarksville … south central part of the state, just above the NC border.
Haven’t attempted to reach out to him yet but I know the company name and have the number. I may do so this coming week.
Also have watched a couple other frac’ers videos from up in New England IIRC.
As far as local geography having something to do with the tools companies chose to use, I’m sure there is something to that.
I’m also pretty sure that technical expertise and level of professional education, as well ability for capital investment/creditworthiness have something to do with it as well.
Give ya one example:
Contacted a frac’ing equipment supplier up in New England this past week. He suggested checking the ODNR well drillers database for providers since they are the licensing authority. (ODNR doesn’t track frac’ing providers, although some states - like PA for example - do …)
Also suggested I reach out to the NGWA (National Ground Water Association - trade association for well drillers and related services)
Girl I spoke to (customer service rep) had never heard of water well frac’ing … “unless it’s something that we know of under a different name …”
(An industry term might be "air development" ?):
So … trying to be the helpful sort, I email her a link to driller in TN’s website page that describes the process … and a link to one of H2O Mechanic's videos on YouTube.
Two days later I’m up on on Water Well Journal's website (WWJ is NGWA’s trade rag/publication) poking around and what do I find ?
A video podcast … featuring the very frac’ing equipment supplier up in New England I spoke to, discussing the history and current state of water well frac’ing …:
Episode 19: History of Hydrofracturing
To her credit though, she did research it further and sent me the name of the guy ("their expert"), via email: the equipment supplier who I had spoken with (who is featured in the podcast video) ... and who originally referred me to NGWA.
Ya literally can’t make it up …
Here's a thought:
Maybe some enterprising trade group should make a searchable database for the services that licensed drillers and related services provide ... so that they (or the consumer directly) can locate someone to meet their needs ?
What a concept ...
