Good Morning,
Ct, 64 to start going to mid 80’s or beyond.

Had a great time on my first Field Day event with my newly adopted radio club, MARC. Meriden Amateur Radio Club. Only being there as a member for a couple of weeks and I had a chance to operate one of their CW transmitters. I made a lot of contacts for the club on 40 and 15 meter frequency bands. 😁
Everything is so much different than it was 55 years ago as far as logging contacts with computers.
But I got the hang of it fairly quickly.

Leaving for Vermont on Tuesday evening, all the family is coming up and the grands will have a blast swimming in the lake and jumping off the boat onto the floating mat that we have 😉

Lou, I usually just leave my Massey in 4 WD , maybe I could save fuel if it was just in 2 WD 😉

Hope all have a great day 🙏
Scott you didn't by chance work W7W this weekend did you? That was the club call we were using for the event. Also check out our event coming this fall.

Morning all, 74 going up to 90 and rain later.
Spent a lot of time on the driveway, shovel for swale work, pole saw for tree and bush work.
My neighbor has not been around enough to trim up to their entrance, so I took care of it with the pole saw. A little pool time later.Son and his GF were over and stayed in the pool most of the day.

Congrats on the house sale RNG!

So my wife and I took a trip a few years before my son was born to Thailand and Cambodia, with a side trip to Laos.
Towards the end of the trip we hired a driver to take us up to an area where many of the larger statues, doors and other large objects are carved.
Walking in was a wall of carver softwood which was a forest scene, about 12' feet long and in great detail.
Large statues from Thai history, archers, dancing girls etc. many life size or larger.

We saw this acacia table in the corner we really liked and the price was right even with shipping to the US.
So we bought it hoping it would actually show up.
About a month later a bill of lading shows up and eventually I get a call to come up to Newark to the customs house to pay customs.

Then I was told is was in one of the big local warehouses, So I drove my Infinity QX4 over there and handed in my paperwork.
Everyone else in the waiting room was a full time trucker and it was fun chatting with them while waiting to be called.

When I got called, I drove my truck in to the loading bay backwards to load up, and of course it's a few feet below the dock platform.

Those same truckers came out with the warehouse crew, some 2x4s and we were able to slide the box down to the truck and it just barely fit.

It was fun being a trucker for the day and not a single one had a bad comment on my little tiny truck for my little tiny load :)

I have had the table now for about 20 years, from my back deck at my old house, to the gazebo at this one.

Good Morning to All who Celebrate! 78° going to a high of 89° with thunderstorms and high winds forecasted. Was very close when I stepped outside this morning.

Weekend went well, saw both properties and wasn't too impressed with both of them. The one in foreclosure was too close to town and had black mold in the laundry room, the one in the country was in heavy flooding area. My best bet right now is 12 acres of woods up on a ridge a county over, but they want almost 300k for it. I think the market is finally starting to swing in the buyer's favor, the peak has hit and it's coming back down. Places are sitting longer and selling for less than asking. Time will tell.

Need to get a few more boxes for my mother and perhaps another 5 yards of tanbark to finish burying the bishop's weed. If this doesn't work, I've asked to dig it out with the FEL and see if we can rent a dump trailer to get rid of it once and for all.

Another project: State has decided, in it's infinite wisdom, to mark the lot the cabin is on with concrete pillars, maybe a foot out of the ground. In doing so, they've cut the outhouse out from the parcel and also managed to include a massive log pile the neighbors have created. Aunt was in a huff about it, but Grandma found the letter Grandpa sent to the State getting the outhouse approved back in the '70s. So the State allowed it then. All that to say I'm sure this is a stunt to allow some state worker to keep their job. So I'm going to be tapped to move those logs, and I'm not going to do it without my tractor.

Need to get back to the salesman about that trailer, then comes all the struggle of making sure the hitch on my truck is enough. (I'm pretty sure it will be, but this is a buy once, cry once situation) 3% cash discount on the trailer puts it within striking distance.

Drew, Prayers for your MIL, may she go peacefully to her reward. Good on you for keeping your word. Not sure how much you know about Lancaster, but the Lancaster's Farmers market is a terrific spot and worth an Uber in. I spent just enough time in Lancaster to know I wouldn't want to drive a RV through it!
Wag, those 'wedgies' are incredible. I have a friend who works as a FIFO (Fly-in, Fly-out) worker for a mine in AUS. He's constantly having his drone attacked by those birds. Prayers for your "padre"
Buppies, I hope you find a good nurse soon. Prayers for you and Holly.
RNG, Safe travels! Hope you enjoy town! Don't be a stranger!

All not specified, enjoy the week and have a safe and enjoyable 4th of July!
Prayers for those ailing and recovering!

Installed a 125ft x 110ft dog run in a shaded area in our front yard today.

Used the Massey to stretch the wire for it.

Sandwiching the wire between two 2x6's and a tow strap sure beats fighting with a bar and a come-along

After we finished the little man wanted a ride

76F, overcast, and wet @ 11:30. Just had a brief heavy downpour roll through. Calling for a high of 81F for the day with a few showers this morning followed by thunderstorms this afternoon with heavy rainfall. Strong gusty winds possible.

Rain gauge still not showing anything.

Got both tube feeders refilled yesterday afternoon, also refilled nyjer feeder.

Got the last two short t posts wire brushed off, completely primed, and top coated on 2 (of 3) sides.

Mounted remote sensor for the Indoor/Outdoor Thermometer out on the front door frame up under the eave. Seems to be functioning as it should.

Was a Bad Day On The Midway for Passer Domesticus. Six House Sparrows caught in the trap, plus another 3 nestlings that hadn't fledged in the nestbox. By the time I got around to emptying the trap there was only one left alive which I was finally able to grab catch by inserting my arm into the trap.

Went back down to the house and grabbed a can of starting fluid for the ones in the nest box. Removed the nest box after I put those to sleep, cleaned out the old nest, and brought it down to the house for cleaning and a refurb. No adult males caught ... so he's still out there somewhere.

Got two Burpless Bush cukes planted in the ground. One of them had three blossoms on it. Did a little work tying up some of the Straight 8 cukes on the arched trellis with garden velcro.

Noticed another Straight Yellow squash had formed on one of the plants.

Used Woman's B&D battery-powered chainsaw to cut down and cut up a volunteer ash tree that had grown up out front, right next to the foundation. Around 4" to 5" in diameter and probably 20' tall.

She loaded most of the limbs onto the loader on the Kubota and I took them up and dumped them on the brush pile. Still have more limbs to dispose of ... and a second smaller ash that was right next to the one I took down.

Moved Woman's Majesty Palm back inside to the dining room. Will see if it doesn't do better there.

Will likely be a mostly inside day given the forecast.

Repot the last of the tomato seedlings.

Change out the water on the sweet potato seeds. Do a litle more reading on what's supposed to happen with those.

Probably some clean up in the garage and kitchen.

Other than that see what else comes up.

Glad to see RNG has returned, hope he will continue to stop by ... at least occasionally, if not regularly.

Hope everyone is having a decent Monday.
