Coffee is done brewing. 71° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 79° with good chance of rain off an on during the day. Yesterday got a thunderstorm that dropped close to 1" of rain in 15 minutes. Temperature also dropped 20°. No damage on my place that I have seen. Did a conserve energy day. Been doing over 8k each day for last week. My bad foot has been giving notices to give it a break. Going to do the same today.

I read an article where part of the arid center of Australia was finally getting some rain and a new lake was forming.
That has promoted ecotourism, all the new flowers and birds coming back.
sounds like a wonderful country to visit, just so far away from most of us

Lake Eyre. it's been a dry lake for years and years but now after the recent tropical rains in Queensland all the rivers are draining inland.

I knew right away, Drew, that you'd be referring to Lake Eyre... although your 'wording' is incorrect as it's not a 'new' lake, just one that is re-forming due to infrequent flooding rains in Queensland & New South Wales.

76 going to 101. Hit 100.5 again yesterday.

Did my usual hike to the river and let Della swim early. Kai's Kia was parked, but we never saw them on the trail (Della's playmate). There are two ways to get to the river, so 50/50 chance.

Decided to go ahead and mow in the heat...3.5 hours, but broke it into 2 segments with a lunch/cool off break.

75 this morning high in mid 90s highest we’ve seen 96.5 but heat index 113 miserable to say the least.

Grass growing I do not see how front lawn very thick

good morning, 75 going to 92

Infusion went well and wife's favorite nurse was there to do it. Also gave blood for comprehensive lab work

Auto insurance went up significantly so shopped for another one. Many would not insure the van saying it needs a commercial insurance even though it is not used in that capacity. Go figure. After some digging found one at a reasonable price

Buppies, sorry this is not getting easier/better for both of you

picked another dinner's worth of beans and a bit of fresh mint for my afternoon iced tea

flower pots I made from white and red violas are just starting to bloom
front lawn slowing filling in, helped by all the rain.
have to constantly spray roses with something made from neem oil, lot of critters want to chow down
daisies overtaking one back garden, will need to dig some out but pretty for now
butterflies and bees are happy

Plans for today...town for critter food and goodies,afternoon stay low and cool until evening.
