Good morning, the low is 45 and going up to 61°F. Wind ENE 6 mph. Mainly sunny!

Today is Friday the thirteenth and I am not taking any chances.

Drew, better brown than red.

Popg; what is involved in a 'check ride', beside being able to take off and land without denting the plane?

Ron, I wonder if your chubby tree rat would even feel one of Drews' BBs?

Time to let the cats out.

Have a safe day all

Morning all, 71 going to 82 and sunny.

Graduation complete, son is now summer bound.
Hot at 91, but the kids in caps and gowns were the ones suffering.
All good in the end, lots of goodbyes etc.
Then out to dinner and home late.

Buppies, bring more water, suffering the heat like that won't be good. Puppy !

Be well,

Good morning! 68˚F, clear skies, heading to 90˚. We had 1.5" rain this week, everything is still green for now. The city lifted its mandatory only once a week watering to two days a week. I will keep the automatic timer on one day a week, by the time I figure out how to change the irrigation timer they will have change back to once a week.

With the dry river bed complete and the mowing complete all that is left is the trimming of the 100 hedges.

Preparing for the wife's family reunion which will be held on board a cruise ship out of Galveston.

We and the Germans have booked a cruise for their next years vacation in the Caribbean. Their first cruise.

Good Morning to all who celebrate! 74° going to a high of 83° and cloudy. Rain forecast later this afternoon and the next week, allegedly.

It's been a rollercoaster of a week here by myself. Two major outages, Comcast decides on Thursday that it's going to do work on Friday near one of the branches causing intermittent outages. Of course, I'm also trying to keep the basic things working as well. At least no one woke me up with a phone call at 11pm saying they need a password reset, or I'd be in for murder. Parents had a safe trip out to see the US Open today, nephew tomorrow.

On the tractoring front. After work yesterday, I took down a branch (maybe 10" around, major branch) with the pole saw and then used the 271 to cut it up further. Tractor with grapple was assigned to put it away. I also found that my phone can survive being run over by my tractor, but likely only because the ground was damp and had enough give to make a nice little indent. Lesson learned, no more leaving my phone in the cupholder of the tractor.

I'd like to get out early enough today to beat the rain home and do a pile of mowing before the rains come crashing down and I can finally take a breath.

Buppies, you should be the one setting the pace. Remember the old saying "Smooth is fast, fast is smooth." Better luck today!
Drew, Hope you recover from your sun exposure with no major issues. SPF 90 maybe?
Phil, More phenomenal work!

Happy Father's Day!

Y'all stay safe out there and be well!
Prayers for those ailing and recovering!

Good morning TBN!!
65 and wet when I got up, Tstorms again this afternoon. We got less the .25" yesterday which is strange because Charlotte got about 4". They are only an hour away from us.

Gave the tractor a bath yesterday and removed the FEL and box blade, put it in the shop and finally crawled under it. I think I found my leak. One whole side of the oil pan was loose and 4 bolts missing. How can that happen? Replaced the bolts and tightened the others up but haven't run it yet. What puzzles me is the leak I seem to have in power steering (next on the list)seems to be glowing from the trace leak I put in the oil system. I have to explore that further. Probably can't until tomorrow. I need to get the wife ready and delivered for her trip to Montana. I'll be a bachelor for the next ten days or so.

Already had my second cup.
Everyone have a great and safe day!!!

Happy Father's Day!!!

I slept in, but working by 10. I’m more in line with Drew’s friends, but occasionally wake around 5 or 6 and just get up.
Changed filters in AC. The new geo unit acting up, hopefully clean filters will help that.
Still got lumber in the back of the truck that needs screwed down.

82F and partly cloudy @ 12:00, WU only calling for a high of 80F today so we've already beat that. Chance of rain 70% with 1" to 2" expected.

Big Guy out on the suet feeder again when I got up.

Woman reports that plants in garden made it through another night undisturbed.

Good to know as I spooked a bunny as I was coming in last night. Don't usually see them over on the east side of the house.

Ended up heading back out to the garage last night and worked to around 03:00 with The Squeak keeping me company (on and off)

Got some brackets put up for more shelving.

Located a bunch of clothespins which The Woman had been looking for.

Put together 4 Japanese Beetle traps. Need to get those put up. Haven't seen any yet this year but this about the time that they start showing up.

More cleaning and organizing.

Agenda for today:

Snag an old plywood shelf from down in the basement and bring it around to the garage for the additional shelf I'm adding.

Maybe get that cut if it needs it.

Check plants on back shelves while I'm down there.

Probably more clean up work out in the garage.

See what else comes up.

Hope everyone is having a decent TGIF ... (y)

Good very early (Saturday) morning. It's 0420 so still the 'overnight' Low of 0.2C.

I'm off to Launceston in about a half hour for the Synod, which is predicted to end by 1700. It'll then be a two hour drive home.

That's about it, take care all.

home sweet home
not a bad drive home, this time no huge backup outside of Philly.
had lunch with my friend under the pergola and then she left for home.
I've done a little unloading, but my first priority is to mow the lawn.

It's never this long but some folks like their lawns long. I understand the plant science, but
prefer it shorter. I mow at 2.5 inches. Used to mow at 1.75 in NC.
I try not to cut off more than an inch at one time. Which is why I mow twice a week some months, and if it keeps raining,
likely will continue to.
I don't mind...good seat time
Now if this John Deere had a 23hp electric motor, that would be marvelous.
just have to figure out how to quiet the mower blades, three propellers down there.

I think an electric reel mower might have the nicest sound.
now if Popgadget got out his harmonic analyzer and plotted out the sound graphs
from his zero turn and then his big Progressive mower, and then his Kubota, plus whatever other engine is interesting
I'd be interested to know what sound frequencies are predominate. Db too...

big issue for leaf blowers. Some of them are simply more irritating than others
leaf blowers are bad news for tinnitus.

will load pics later, got to keep moving til I run out of gas.
have stopped vibrating from all that driving, time to see how the roses are doing.
I've already watered everything, some wilting was starting after two days of pots in full sun.
I need to shade them a little. Earth in pot gets hot and out goes the water
