Good Morning,
Ct, 24 to start going to 36 ! It is sunny but with a breeze which makes it feel colder !

Work today, but the sun is out and it looks like colder temps as the week progresses into next week !

The truck was covered in salt coming back from Vt yesterday afternoon but I had just enough day light and temp to clean it up before going in for dinner ! Kathleen thinks I’m a bit **** about the way I keep the truck but I hate driving a filthy truck ! 😉

cold wave is going to hit Florida this week, maybe enough to have the iguanas dropping out
of the trees
Drew, we were down in Key Largo a few years ago and we we’re actually watching the iguanas dropping from the trees during a cold snap, quite something to see especially the larger ones !

Don, I believe you still have one of your tractors, so I would think a bit more property would work for your garden plans ! How much would you want ? I’m thinking an extra acre would provide plenty of garden space !

Hope all have a great day ! 🙏

Good Morning to all who celebrate! Currently 24 and calling for snow showers totaling 2 inches allegedly. I specifically did not put the snow pusher on, so 2 inches I'm sure will end up being a foot.

Got a nice string of days off this week, good to finally be able to relax. Now of course there's always a new crisis but that's a problem for Future Me.
Budget meeting later this month, which is always about as much fun as a trip to the dentist (Pulling teeth)

Got some seat time this week putting the Christmas Tree out in the tree line and took some tarps down to cover mom's raised beds that she grows tomatoes in.

Otherwise, I'm in holiday recovery mode and pulling some things together for the annual training/chase people down to complete training. Perhaps that's better left until after the holiday recovery mode wears off.

All, Be well and stay safe out there! Prayers for those ailing and recovering!

Good Morning.
28° and clear, high of 35 and chance of snow showers later.

Yesterday morning was in the house going through closets and cleaning up the mess that we made while son and DIL were gone, so it looks like we accomplished something instead of making piles of trash.

Cleaned the remnants of Wednesday’s fire out of the fireplace, and loaded it up with cedar kindling, logs, and a pinch of fire starter so it’s ready to go when we want a fire. The combination of the cedar and fire starter makes it light as easy as gas logs. Rip roaring fire in minutes.

After that, I did a little more drywall touch up, hopefully final sand and paint today.
Next stop was the shop to continue the clean up and figure out why the pneumatic hydraulic pump for the press didn’t work. I took it all apart, didn’t lose any of the springs that desperately wanted to escape, and couldn’t see any reason for it to not work. I cleaned and lubricated and reassembled it, and it worked fine. I had to bleed the hydraulic side to get it to pump, but the original issue was that the air side didn’t cycle, it just leaked air out the vent. So I put it back on the press and called it a day.
It gave me a chance to try out the Milwaukee M12 ratchets that Santa brought me.
Next chore was to take the logbook for a rental engine to UPS to overnight to the service center. It cost over $100 to send a book across PA.
Finished out the day dusting the cobwebs off my brain trying to remember how to program the Nortel voicemail, I accomplished what I needed to, but definitely had to dig out some reference materials.

Today the groomer comes to give Zoe a bath and a good brushing, hopefully reducing the tumbleweeds of dog hair that I’m vacuuming up twice a day.
Have to gather up the trash and recycling and get it to the street tonight, move hay from the shed to the barn, the previously mentioned drywall finishing, continue the cleanup, and hopefully play some music tonight

Good Morning!!!! 48F @ 5:45AM. A mix of clouds and sun during the morning will give way to cloudy skies this afternoon. High around 65F. SSW winds shifting to WNW at 10 to 15 mph.

Trash pickup was delayed a day this week, and they took all three cans (trash, green waste, and recyclables). The garbage company's online info says they alternate the green waste and recyclables each week, but between me losing track of which week is what and their questionable documentation, I've been putting all three out each week and this week it paid off. Things must finally be slowing down if I have time to get excited about garbage...

After finding a WU weather station closer to this weekends campout, and seeing that overnight temps have been in the 50s, I packed the van and will leave in an hour or so. My fingers are still too sore to wear a glove, so they'll be no motorcycling for me this weekend, but maybe I'll get on the ebike for a bit, and I'm always good for a soak in the hot springs. Wrestled around with some route planning, using the laptop and Google Maps, then trying to transfer it to the Google Maps app in the iPhone. It would preserve the start and end points, but totally ignore all the "stops" I'd inserted to get me around LA traffic. Found a flaky work around, then tried to figure out how to reverse the route for the trip back home. That was equally flaky. It seems mapping software these days is playing Father Knows Best and trying too hard to "save" us from taking less traveled ways to our destinations.

Speaking of fingers, the scabs fell off after this morning's shower, leaving behind some nice pink new skin. Still very tender, so the Bandaids will stay on for probably another week.

TGIF gang!

Found my porch snowman laying at the end of its cord, looks like it Epstein’d itself from the wind. So it got packed up.
Calling for some light snow today, then calling for 6” for Monday. Guess I should put bucket on the tractor and turn it around.

David, I think you need a pineapple grove there... ;)

decided to use the suction cups provided and some alligator clips for connection to battery.
Alternative was cigarette lighter input but this was easier.
MPPT controller under hood, all four lights were green so it was happy
hopefully no one will steal it.
started up engine, let it warm a little and then locked it up, after taking the xmas wreath off.

I can use this 20W charger in my garden shed afterwards.

When I went to barn, thought i'd take down christmas lights first, so got that done before it gets real cold. Was a little chilly outside at first. couldn't start ranger, even with jump starter, so put it on battery charge, was at 11.7v.
Filled up pellet box, only needed 5 bags, but then took off forks and put on bucket. Also noticed low tires in back, so aired them up. After tractor put away, was able to start ranger, so moved the ZT to be in front of it, and then took ranger for a short spin, hauled a couple things with it, went for a ride down to the creek. It's still running rough at times, The gas was really really old, so last time put sea foam in, and that helped it then, but acting up some again. I think i had also added some E0 gas to it also, but maybe not. When I got back to barn it did stall on me, but did start back up again.
I had gathered all the hours on all the tractors and such.
gathered all SD cards from cameras, and have them saved to computer now. Brought some unused shelving to garage, to use with some new brackets I bought. Need to wipe them down first.
slight snow during all this, but nothing showing. Very slight lunch at 3 pm.
Looks like the farm got 2-3" of snow overnight.
