Morning all, 59 going to 83 and sunny.

Went to new dentist, did xrays. Broken tooth was right around where it was filled in 35 years ago.
Enough tooth that he could just fill and sculpt, so that's what he did.
With insurance the whole thing cost me $100, so I finally got more than I paid this year for dental insurance. Looks like he did a good job. I had him not numb the area, and that worked fine.

Did some general cleanup and watering, fixed bracket on garage door, and before you know it the sun was going down.

Found hornworm on tomatoes finally, went to take it off and it had white things attached. It was removed anyway, the white things are parasitic wasps that eventually kill the worm.
Seems to worm got from a plant in one cage over to the plant in the other cage, why I could not find it.

The school trip is to Disney in Florida. Son has been to Mexico, China, Japan, Germany and France with us as well as many trips around the US. He should be pretty comfortable with travel and transportation. He was able to navigate subways and walking around Manhattan without trouble, since he's been in with us enough times. He also knows not to veer off the beaten path and be with others, he learned the lesson earlier in the summer.

TxDon - Those look a little like the Dosa we would get in India. with curry and potatoes was called Masala Dosa. One of my favorites when made right.

Rip - I learned not to take relative issues too seriously with my dad and his nasty GF. Some things can't be changed, so go with the flow. Some things can't be changed, do what you can to help, but know that you can't fix people too easily.

Not too many pineapples from Hawaii anymore, they could not get enough $ to compete due to shipping. Sure David can tell you about the field conversions and abandonment from old pineapple plantations.

M7040 - I love Tokyo, very jealous. One of the very fun and totally Japanese Cheesy places we went was Robot Restaurant in Shinjuku. Shinjuku is one of the best night spots too in Tokyo, a large area around all the pubs and small restaurants is turned into a pedestrian only area.

Be well,
Can't believe I did not notice this earlier when the door got a little noisier on closing. Such an easy fix too.

Can you see the hornworm with the little white things, center left?
This tomato plant is really two tomato plants, the larger ones here and some plum tomatos.
It's a mystery where the larger tomato plant came from, maybe last years plants, but they were in the other cage.

Was going to change oil in car today, but wife just took it.
Top of my head must have gotten too much sun at the funeral, feels sore. Never had that happen before, and wasn’t outside that long.
Got to deal with pipeline ROW agreement today. Only gets buried 3 ft. Course they shifted it slightly again, and using the edge of the hay field, but they do go behind the barn and below the spring. Down left side of field treeline in background, then straight down.

Good Morning Don,
ould not find an Hawaiian pineapple at the store so had to buy a Costa Rican
Don, when we were in Hawaii a couple of years ago we toured the Dole Plantation while there. We were told that they don’t export pineapples anymore. They use almost everything grown for consumption on the island ! If you buy a Dole pineapple it is probably from Mexico or Costa Rico ! At least what we were told on the tour !

I am jealous as well. My travel these days is following what she is doing. Glad she is good at sending pictures and stories of her travel. If interest I will try to share some of that
My last trip before retiring was to Japan visiting a major supplier. Being escorted and dined at the best restaurants was a treat. Remembered the settings on top floor of high rise in Tokyo eating the most fantastic meals. Small dishes but they kept coming

Don, glad shoulder is doing well and flatbread came out nice ! How do you eat it ? A little butter ? Glad your feeling well enough to putter !
I had it with a little maple syrup but a strawberry preserve sandwich would also be good. It stays together when folded so a soft taco can also be made. I'll cut some of the bread up for use in the purple cabbage soup for lunch. Next time I'll add roasted garlic and see if I can get it to taste like garlic bread or add rye for rye bread, possibilities are endless. Vegan so no butter and the vegan butters have oils so no on them also.

Good morning! Low of 46°, heading to 82°. Dry for the next couple days, then good chances of showers / storms for Sunday and Monday.

It's been an interesting week..... wifey had a brief relapse of whatever illness she had a couple weeks ago.... then it jumped ship and hit me for 2 days. This morning, woke up like I was never feeling bad... strange.

Still battling the aphid infestation! First got about 50% of 'em. 2 days later, got another 25%. Hosed down the trees yesterday, not too many visible. Will check again today and maybe hit the trees with soap solution again tomorrow.

Leaves are starting to turn, albeit just a few..... now if the temps will just hang around 70, it would be great!

Another sign of fall is the decrease in the consumption of the bird seed... the pigs with wings are now only emptying the feeders once a week vs. every 2 days. The migration has begun!

The containers arrived for the transplants.... very disappointed they were very thin walled, but will work for our plants. Probably won't be able to reuse them. They were cheap enough. Nothing like the description nor the pictures, advertising at its finest!

We still need to finish the transplanting but neither of us is up to the task. Maybe this weekend, if it can get squeezed in.....time to make the dog food again. That is the priority.

Need to head to the grocery store in a little bit. Going to be a big order, haven't gone in 2 weeks!

Drew, thanks for the pics of the trip. That last campground looks very high end! You have to save some of those repairs for us to do here. Need to spread the fun!

Paul, the addition is really coming together! The stonework is beautiful.

Bill, did you ever find the cube lights? You put them in a safe spot.....

Speaking of the cicadas.... they must have decided to vacation out here! They were more prevalent this year vs. years past. Ugly creatures, but third on the ugly / gross list:
First on the list is the giant centipedes out here --- they are about the only thing that sends shivers through me! Then comes the "Child of the earth" or
Jerusalem cricket. They are just gross..... I usually find one or two a year.
Then comes the cicada. Just ugly.

Started the continuing saga of PT for the knee. Still doing "nerve treatment". Haven't noticed much of an improvement, the knee is usually worse for a day or so after treatment. 7 more weeks to go....

Everyone have a great weekend!
