I had things planned which needed to get moved around since I have to go to a doc appt
for a colonoscopy consult. A consult?? They say due to age (75). Anyone else asked to get a consult first?
I looked it up, yes all kinds of hits on colonoscopies after age 75. They say there are risks, but avoiding colorectal cancer
is sure a benefit. That killed my wife so pretty familiar with it...

had a very nice lunch with Ken in New Hope yesterday and brought some very good seafood fried rice home which I doctored
up for dinner. Ken was home alone...wife off with friends and son off to college. Hope we can do this more often.

Buckeye, your travel pics are great, any left?
They make me have a consultation first, just because I'm on blood thinner. They make me get cleared from my cardio also, then tell me to stop blood thinner 3 days in advance. My oldest sister died from colon cancer.

More days of travel to show. Trying not to flood TBN all at once. One former person on GM would complain about lots of large pictures on here.

Good Morning,
Ct, 45 to start going to 72. Later oks to be the last nice day before some showers move in tomorrow and Wednesday.

We did quite well selling hotdogs and hamburgers yesterday at the pumpkin festival. This year we stepped it up a notch with bacon egg and cheese sandwiches to start the day. We couldn’t make them quick enough. I was the hotdog guy , and those things flew off the grill also. It was a great event because we had the old timers like me working with a lot of our newer members, definitely a teamwork event. 🙏

Kathleen wants to go in the hot tub one last time tonight, so it looks like I get to close the pool in the rain tomorrow 😉🥲

I may celebrate this morning with some more POTA operations at a local state park 😉

Hope all have a blessed and safe day 🙏
My neighbor always helps in the kitchen for the local VFD carnival. A hot job.

Good Morning
54° and grey out there this morning.

Yesterday was a nearly perfect day to be outside.

Started by moving a couple of bucket loads of cut logs that I dumped in a hedgerow to get them out of the way down to the log pile to be split.
Got the Lazer out and did all the trimming and the edges of the lane all the way to the street.
Then took the loader off the tractor and hooked up the Progressive mower, it seemed to run smoother after the time I put into it last week, but I’m sure it was just confirmation bias.
Got all the open areas mowed, then got back on the Lazer and mowed the RC runway.
Son got out the string trimmer and went around all the buildings and “stuff” like well casings, diesel and propane tanks and walks.

When I went to start my trusty Stihl blower, it yanked the pull starter out of my hand repeatedly. I first changed the spark plug, then looked at spark arrestor screen, then the gap between the flywheel and the ignition module. None of that worked. So I thought I’d pull the spark plug and look in the cylinder for some sort of build up raising the compression. When I turned the engine over to get the piston to the bottom of its stroke, I felt a rattle. Upon further investigation, I discovered that the blower fan was loose. I tightened it up with an impact gun and all is well again. Apparently, it relies on the fan as a flywheel to keep it from kicking back from compression.

After the sun set, I did put the 3D printer to work, made a speed handle for the milling machine vice, and continued the quest for the perfect chip bag clip….

Off to the RC club to hang out with the old guys this morning, then I’ll consider being productive later on.

2nd straight year my homeowners insurance has gone up drastically, 55% increase in 2 years, doubled in price from 4 yrs ago. Got a call into insurance as to why, value of home has not gone up that much.

Been reading that housing market about to bust, am seeing houses sit a long time now.

In my case, raising the deductible did not make a huge difference, but our HO insurance premium is relatively low compared to the value of the property. Perhaps in your case, with rising premiums, it's worth asking for a quote with a $15k deductible?

I always wondered why they set the deductibles down at $500 or $1000. How many homeowners are going to chance cancelation or rising premiums, for a repair so minor?

We've been shopping for camps and just got one. Of the three we bid on, we were the only ones to bid on them.. Many sit for a year.
