Another beautiful day going to 79º. Rain in the forecast, we will see. We need it.
Will fiddle with the golf cart conversion and get it to run on the stand today.
Turns out I forgot to plug a wire in ~ so not much fiddlin. She's up and running.
Maybe get the Xmas lights working on the wishing well.
Then maybe kill a few weeds later. Or drive the hot rod, hmm.

65°F and .06 inches rain. Another sprinkle day forecast.

Visiting friends treated us to a leisurely late lunch yesterday. Interesting it seems so much more enjoyable when a treat.

Likely watch football today and appreciate the rain. State is still in drought but I think we are good.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Ken, very nice pic with forest through the windows

yes, deluge about to begin. Already soaking NC and soon most of VA.

since there is already still a foot of water in my water ditch, this will flood the entire back yard
by tomorrow morning. I should wake up to a lake out there.
let's see how many trees fall down; PECO will be paying a lot of OT for this.

headed downstairs to take the hot tub pump apart. Have some extra lights and a place to sit down, will try
not to lose the screws.

Thomas, I would call your bear a security guard. How old is he/she ?

Bupps, glad you got some sleep.

Billy, didn't think the crud would keep you down long.

Popgadget, glad your new instruments are working out. I'm trying to think of what I would listen to while I was flying...maybe Get off of my cloud by the Stones? Many others.

Just the Son and I went to church today. The wifey is not feeling so hot, I still have a ton of drainage.

We got very little of that rain to fall here, looks like some of y'all will get quite a bit.

Good Morning!!!! 59F @ 10:30AM. Partly cloudy this morning, then becoming cloudy during the afternoon. High around 60F. Winds light and variable.
Looks like some of your Pineapple Express is headed my way overnight, staying on for the next few days. Thanks, David!

Drove a 4066 at the local Deere dealer and mostly liked it, but separate forward and reverse pedals seemed like they'd be a hazard on the steep property here. Shortly after that I discovered the M62 tractors when the old L3240 was at the Kubota dealer for repair, and not long after that I had the M. It's been a good tractor, aside from a broken hose.

Good advise on the XT, Kyle. This one is an '05, so still a sprightly teenager. I drain the gas from the tank and carb when I park it because it gets so little use. As long as the battery is good, it usually starts on the first or second push of the button, with little or no choke. It would be nice if it had a few more horsepower, but that would make it heavier and the weight is one of its best features because I fall down a lot when going trail riding. Which I hardly ever do anymore. Just don't bounce like I used to.

Maybe just like the smaller screws and nuts in the junk drawers, Drew, the fines sorted themselves down to the bottom of the driveway layers?

Glad to see that oak come down so nicely, Billy. It's a good feeling when they do. And you're right about the oak: they make a ton of firewood, literally.

Got the tires rotated on the van with not as much fuss as I thought it would be, and since Amazon delivered the oil, changed that, too. Used a vacuum sucker thing down the dip stick tube to drain the oil, nice and neat and no crawling around underneath and no hot oil running down my arm. The oil filter is a canister type right on top of the engine, so that's an easy replacement, too. Noticed I've only one spare filter left, and that the price has jumped by a third.

Speaking of prices, I noticed that my favorite Battery Saver model, the 2365, has jumped by 50%!

Since I already had the jack out, I took the wheels off the 7x14 trailer and changed out the other three valve stems. One of them split down in Orcutt last trip, and an American Tire shop replaced it. When I asked how much I owed, the man said no charge, and handed me four more new valve stems, and wished me a Merry Christmas. Might be the best gift of the year. The tire machine was already down in Orcutt, so I used the hydraulic press to break the bead and hold it down while I changed the stems. Had to use the ratchet strap trick to get the beads to seat again, but I was able to finish by the time the sun was setting.

Another campfire/trash burning session finished off the evening.

Today I'll try to get as much stuff as I can loaded into the van and trailer for the next trip south. Then maybe burn some weeds if there's any daylight left.

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend!

I hate to see big red oaks die, but they make a ton of firewood. I had a narrow spot between trees to drop this oak...put my target survey flag out, and crash...right on top of it...no hanging up on another tree on the way down. Brought out 1 load. Probably 3 more to go.
Noticed I have a dead oak, standing on the bank towards the creek.

Thomas, If you get a porch pirate, I'd suspect the hired hand......

46deg and very foggy. Just a misting so far.
Good worship. Good lunch after. We gave our usual waitress a card and we all donated some cash, I know well over $100 was in there.
Tiger never messed with our tree last year, but this year seems intent on removing ornaments, especially a couple stuffed ones. I wonder if they were meant as cat toys with cat nip in them? All ornaments over 3 ft up. And Pebbles will remove light bulbs and run off with them.
Forgot what else I was going to comment on. I'll have to scroll back thru the posts.

Looks gray outside 54F. The time the rain is supposed to start keeps slipping back. Got the yard cleaned up and it is looking pretty good. Just a matter of time till more leaves blow in.

I drove by the Toyota dealer Friday. They must have 50 cars on the lot which is the most they have had in a long time but doesn't even half fill their lot. All the other dealers lots are full.

There was an article in the newspaper that one of the local hospitals is requiring masks again. Seems like there are 3 different viruses afflicting us.

Take care.

Chris

not a successful first pass at hot tub pump. Nothing cracked, everything tight and no signs of leakage.
that means plan B. Hook up some water tomorrow after I figure out how not to make a mess doing so in the basement.
lot of plastic parts inside other plastic parts, this would be a headache to take apart but first I have to find where it's leaking

well I guess if I've been a porch pirate this week, I have now atoned. Amazon brought a neighbor's package to me among others and got off before I could catch it.
house is back in woods, I figured out which driveway, and delivered it to the right house. Boy is everything green and moldy back in that woods.

time to chill, listen to the rain
