That is a pretty looking Pete, my company is way too cheap to buy them. Right now I am in an International LT, before that it was three Freight-liners. A FLD 120SD 5 years, a COE 8 years and a FLD120 day cab 2 years.
If I were to go out and buy a brand new truck it would be a COE Freight liner with big horses and even bigger fuel tanks. A 18 spd manual is a MUST. Would rather have a 6x4 but that is old school and the closest I can get to that is an 18 spd.

44, been warming up all night so the rain is near. Local TV weather lady just said 3.5 to 4 inches in spots. Going to 57, but the wind forecast sounds rough.

m70, glad you got some sleep. Hope you did, Buppies.

Ron, sounds like you deserve a rest day.

Scott, better not too et too much at the FD...you'll be expected to eat a few of those cookies, too.

Had a successful day cutting firewood. I hate to see big red oaks die, but they make a ton of firewood. I had a narrow spot between trees to drop this oak...put my target survey flag out, and crash...right on top of it...no hanging up on another tree on the way down. Brought out 1 load. Probably 3 more to go.

Is it even possible to order a new truck with twin-sticks? Or is that strictly vintage? Growing up way back when, a neighbor had a twin-stick White and he had something like 60 forward gears!

Good Morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).
44.1F going into 50s, forecast changed from rain all day to dreary damp with slight chance of showers.

couches were successfully detained, too Rainey to have an enjoyable sauna session so that will be tonight. After church, it will likely be another energy-conservation day. Too wet for any woodlot activities, really not decorating to do other than dig out two snowflake projector lights and plug them in and decorating is officially done.

i hope everyone has a happy healthy safe blessed day!

Good morning
It’s a grey out there, 48° not going up past the low 50’s. Low ceiling, but still decent visibilty and no rain yet. Supposed to start around noon and continue through tomorrow, leaving us a couple of inches of rain.

Yesterday went according to the plan. Took the little plane out to lunch, and then for a bit of extended test, trying (and figuring) out all the new equipment.
The navigation stuff is great, but now I can stream tunes via Bluetooth to my headset, which is actually pretty HIFI.
I might even have gotten my money’s worth!
I did get grain and wood shavings loaded into the barn, noticed an oil spot under the wife’s RAV4, and considering I just changed the oil last week, figured that I was the likely cause. Drain plug was tight, but I replaced the crush washer, hopefully that’s the cure. Was able to do that without losing a perceptible amount of oil, working with one hand and a finger on the other plugging the dike.

Not much planned for today. Dropping the wife’s car off for inspection before the rain, clean up the never ending mess I’ve made in the shop, and go through the three boxes of stuff that came out of the little plane, looking at eBay, it would make sense to sell it rather than trash it.

Morning all, 50 going to 55 and cloudy, calling for upwards of 3" rain.
Here comes the flooding, month of rain in a few hours, seems like this happens 4 or 5 times a year now.
Got a few more piles of tree trunks and branches moved. Bit by bit clearing out that area.

Thomas, nice driveway alarm. So far I don't burn too much, but that may change. I have some areas with deep depressions that I fill up and the branches do break down. But Cedar and Maple and the other tree types might take too long.
Right now focused on clearing, once it's all in piles I can grab when I want.

M7040 - fun seeing pictures of your daughters new adventures.

Scotty - sounds like fun at the FD. I remember the popcorn balls from when I was a kid back on LI. We knew most of the FD guys back then.

Be well,
