forgot to mention that I made a tray for the Makita yesterday to carry in the load bed of the RTV. It always slides around when driving and tips over so now it should be pretty stable

70° same as it was at 1:30 am.
Weather underground struck out again. Called for rain last evening from 4-7pm, radar showed it coming and not a stop. Then it showed rain from 4 am till noon, not a drop and just high clouds this morning.
Paving guys working again. We didn’t get up early to walk because of the rain forecast.
PJ, been thinking of getting one of those hoists myself.
Drew, sorry about BIL
Wife just picked few more green beans.

nice job Frits.

Scootr, they usually don't give us an option on chemistry. I do think there will be a new
certification standard for these batteries. Those fireproof bags Popgadget mentioned sound interesting, but if they are for a plane,
probably automatically cost ten times more

I used an AGM battery for sump pump. Would have preferred the LIPO4 but not sure oem built in battery charging system
would handle that.

dramatic use of new batteries in rv's now. Almost always a Battleborn or other maker LifePo4 option.

Good Morning!!!! 72F @ 6:00AM. Plentiful sunshine. High 98F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.

Got back to Yankee Hill last night at about 6:30 after twelve hours on the road. Made a stop in Pollak Pines to pick up a new-to-me box trailer, and skirting traffic on the back roads really slowed things down. Good deal on the trailer, even though it needs new tires. The rest is all there, appears to work, and is in good shape. 7'x14', 7,000 lbs GVAW.

I feel your pain, literally, Kyle. Most of my finger joints have a little author-i-tis, and some get stuck once in a while, requiring a little help to get going again. Our reward for living this long I suppose...

Gosh, Buppies, what next? Fingers crossed for a good outcome.

"As for lithium-ion batteries, Chief Martinez says it is important to be extra cautious. He warns those who have them to not leave them constantly plugged in once fully charged. He adds do not keep them outside in a hot environment, but in a climate-controlled environment like inside. Also, inspect the batteries regularly."
Some good advice there, but don't think I'll be storing my Makita batteries in the house, no matter what the Chief sez.

Hope your plumbing job holds up better than the one here, David.

When I got home, I found no water pressure, and no water in the tanks. No sign of a leak, but the controller on the jet pump had shut itself down when it detected no water pressure on the in feed line. Got it going again and an elbow on the high pressure side started spraying through a crack. So this morning I've got some plumbing repairs to take care of. I'll be making a call to the contractor that did the installation to talk about the repair first, and then how or if they'll replace the 12,500 gallons of water that was lost. Records from the power system suggest the jet pump ran for about 18 hours before the water ran out. Until I can get it fixed I'll be flushing the toilet with a bucket and drinking bottled water. What fun!

While I was gone I found out that the Oregon dealer that sold me the van had been contacted by California DMV that they needed more paperwork before they could issue a CA title. And that they were sending back the paperwork submitted by the dealer. But the clerk at the dealer hadn't received it, so they asked me if I had it. It was in the stack of mail I got while I was gone, so instead of keeping the dealer in the loop, I'm just going to ask them to send the paperwork I sent them last week back to me. That way I can take the whole pile into a DMV office and work it first hand. It'll also get the bungling clerk out of the loop.

The cherry on the top was the jury summons I found in the mail pile...

And then there's the lady on FB Marketplace asking if the price is as stated in the swing set ad. The wording is "$1350 firm". Seems pretty clear to me...

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!

Good morning, low of 57°, only heading to 79° today. Heavy clouds this morning, left overs fro a brief shower last night. The rain gauge is "damp", but no real measurement ..... maybe that will change today....

I did get all the remaining gravel spread. I saved 'just enough' to cover what needed to be done. Could have used a couple buckets more. Next time......

Didn't get to the landscaping fabric and mulch yet. Didn't take any more pics yet....

Everyone have a great day!

there are a lot of these battery bags out there, seem pretty cheesy to hold back that kind of heat if true thermal runaway
For sure. Those bags seem to be made out of plastic. Some have a layer of fiberglass, but none guaranteed more than 2200F coverage. I did notice one would refund or replace the bag if it failed. Great, what if it didn't save my barn or house?

Good morning , going up to 74 and cloudy, rain later.
Got 1 sheet rock panel up since work ran late and early yesterday.
Going through hell at work right now.

Sad about Bill, don't think I ever met him though Drew.

Got the M18 hammer drill yesterday, it's going back today as the clutch isn't working.
This is a certified, refurbished, that was done by someone who obviously has no idea how a hammer/drill/driver works.

Be well,
