Good Morning!!!! 72F @ 6:00AM. Plentiful sunshine. High 98F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.
Got back to Yankee Hill last night at about 6:30 after twelve hours on the road. Made a stop in Pollak Pines to pick up a new-to-me box trailer, and skirting traffic on the back roads really slowed things down. Good deal on the trailer, even though it needs new tires. The rest is all there, appears to work, and is in good shape. 7'x14', 7,000 lbs GVAW.
I feel your pain, literally, Kyle. Most of my finger joints have a little author-i-tis, and some get stuck once in a while, requiring a little help to get going again. Our reward for living this long I suppose...
Gosh, Buppies, what next? Fingers crossed for a good outcome.
"As for lithium-ion batteries, Chief Martinez says it is important to be extra cautious. He warns those who have them to not leave them constantly plugged in once fully charged. He adds do not keep them outside in a hot environment, but in a climate-controlled environment like inside. Also, inspect the batteries regularly."
Some good advice there, but don't think I'll be storing my Makita batteries in the house, no matter what the Chief sez.
Hope your plumbing job holds up better than the one here, David.
When I got home, I found no water pressure, and no water in the tanks. No sign of a leak, but the controller on the jet pump had shut itself down when it detected no water pressure on the in feed line. Got it going again and an elbow on the high pressure side started spraying through a crack. So this morning I've got some plumbing repairs to take care of. I'll be making a call to the contractor that did the installation to talk about the repair first, and then how or if they'll replace the 12,500 gallons of water that was lost. Records from the power system suggest the jet pump ran for about 18 hours before the water ran out. Until I can get it fixed I'll be flushing the toilet with a bucket and drinking bottled water. What fun!
While I was gone I found out that the Oregon dealer that sold me the van had been contacted by California DMV that they needed more paperwork before they could issue a CA title. And that they were sending back the paperwork submitted by the dealer. But the clerk at the dealer hadn't received it, so they asked me if I had it. It was in the stack of mail I got while I was gone, so instead of keeping the dealer in the loop, I'm just going to ask them to send the paperwork I sent them last week back to me. That way I can take the whole pile into a DMV office and work it first hand. It'll also get the bungling clerk out of the loop.
The cherry on the top was the jury summons I found in the mail pile...
And then there's the lady on FB Marketplace asking if the price is as stated in the swing set ad. The wording is "$1350 firm". Seems pretty clear to me...
Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!
