Good morning! 78˚ heading to 100˚ again as it has been all week.
We have a new member to our household, Mom's 18 year old cat (pics later) not as pretty as buckeye's cat but a very easy, friendly, slow moving cat. We adopter him after mom died last week, it was a rough week but things are getting better. Mom wanted to stay in her house till she died and she was able to. She had a normal morning, fed the cat, had breakfast, regular good visit with the visiting nurse, waved at the Mailman through the window, Then died at the mailbox.
Kitty and I are sitting in our screened-in patio watching the sun rise.

Drew, I was that guy, but unfortunately only my freshman year. We moved and my new, smaller (only 36 in my class) couldn’t accommodate in schedule. Still, the skills of that 1st year class have been of continuing value.
Seems most of the pretty girls were in Home Ec, would have been as easy A as my Mom had already taught me that stuff. I do regret not taking typing, still a hunt & peck guy.

interesting, I think at one time I knew how to sew on a button, arthritis won't allow that now.
but....my mother was very smart and made me attend an extra typing class on Saturday mornings I think in 1966. I hated those classes.
But long term, what a gift to be able to powertype all my life

walking out this morning I found this blue jay just sitting by the rv. I almost stepped on it, jumped back, shooed it, did nothing, acted I think like it was dazed, maybe it flew into side of rv and gave itself a concussion. Ten minutes later it was gone.

fine haul from the garden, my first sweet Italian grilling peppers. Going to make peppers and onions tonight with some sausage I bought, sausage has broccoli rabe in it.
Plus fresh corn on the cob. Making myself hungry...

We roasted large red peppers today until all charred and black, let them cool and then peeled them. We make those a couple of times a week.

My mom showed me how to knit socks and sweaters from yarn.

Jonas Vingegaard, Denmark won Tour de France by more that 7 minutes for the second time in a row. Watched his acceptance speech Very humble gay

87 outside now. Done for the weekend. Managed to find and moved all tools ro "new" toolshed. Serious downsizing in space. Shed has electric and is next to house. Needs a new window.
Chilling by the pool watching the lawn ornaments go by.

I realized I had defrosted my Michigan meat pasty so that was tonight's dinner instead.
It was ok, more flavor than I expected, potato, rutabaga, onions, ground beef. A little hot sauce really helped.
The pastry was yummy, then I read the label. No wonder. Lard...

Good Evening Guys ,
It was a top 10 day here ! We went out on the lake for a ride on the pontoon boat, absolutely spectacular weather, especially the way this summer has been !

Daugen, you would have loved it out there today ! Water was nice also !
