Good evening. 62° now, high was 67° today. Very comfortable. Tomorrow is supposed to be warmer.
The continuing saga of the new entry install continues. We were up early and ready for the installer to be here at 9. At 8:35, the contractor called and said the installer has a sore neck. My wife ordered this new entryway like November 5. Still no word on a reschedule.
So worked on some assorted projects in the garage. Felt good to work with the doors open.
Need to take a pic, built a wheel for a BSA yesterday. Trued it up today. It trued up exceptionally well.
See what tomorrow brings.
Everyone stay safe out there
Hope the contractor comes through. His sore neck is giving you a sore side.
I wish the TT track in AZ had more room for passing. But the fastest guy won, so I guess it worked out. I won't be able to make the Dallas flat track race...my class reunion is that weekend and I'm already invested.
Good morning! 72˚F heading to the mid 80s with cloud cover and South winds.
FireWise limb clearing this morning. They are still clearing downed limbs in the common areas from the Feb. Ice storm. I think my pole saw will get a workout today. It's nice to be getting back with the group after being absent with Covid and staying with Whipper on her last days.
Don, I just found out the Feb ice storm here is what knocked KXAN off the air, they have switched to channel 54-5 OTA for now. I'm still very sorry about Whipper. I know she carved out a big spot in both of your lives. To just think, "What if she hadn't ever found y'all?" I will say that our rescue chihuahua has become an integral part of our family. She has embedded herself into the whole family's lives. I will say that in many ways, she's one of the smartest dogs I've ever known (and I've owned and been around Golden retrievers since I was young). Very apprehensive of what's going on. Does not bark at people unless they knock on the door unexpectedly, or if she knows that we aren't expecting anyone. I guess she sees the puzzlement in our expressions if we get an unexpected knock on the door. My daughter taught her to "roll over" for a treat, and she does so voluntarily now when begging for a morsel. She does not bark at strangers, but is extremely hyper/scared of other dogs. Could be how she came to be ours.
The wind is GUSTING up dust and air quality is low, temp going up close to 90F. We need rain. weather peeps say some is coming, but I'm not holding my breath.
I took off today to watch my son's final track meet in Navasota Texas. This is the "District" meet, where he will face teams he hasn't ran against yet.
Wifey made me some southern pecan/chocolate coffee this morning. Yum... We will go on a lunch date, and then to the track meet later.
Buppies, prayers for comfort and healing, and to the rest of "our gang" in need.
Scaredy, sorry about the loss of your old friend. Glad you got to catch up with your other old friends.
I had a childhood friend call me out of the blue yesterday. Its been a year or 2 since we met for lunch. He's a salesman for building products and is very busy. He lives near Corpus Christi, but we grew up together in our hometown. I was like a part of their family. He said he had quit smoking almost 5 years ago, and his doctor told him he's in good health now. I was glad to hear that, because previously, I was very worried about him.
About once a year, my eyes get very itchy. I rub them to get out the matter, and I end up scratching a blood vessel or something which causes my eye to go eerily bloodshot, usually on the nose side of the cornea. Its probably caused by allergies. The post oak and pecan trees are pumping out the pollen.
