Good morning! Low of 2°, up to 24° currently at 10:45, expected high is 32°.
The winds were gusty yesterday, but we didn't get near the predicted 55+ mph. Highest was 40 mph.

It was like a switch was thrown.... windy, then nothing....
Took a nap while the wind was ripping, then checked to make sure all the Christmas decorations were still in the state..... all good.

Lou, prayers sent for your brother and family. Hard times.

Hope you guys weather the storm without difficulty. Sounds like it's nasty.

Drama has settled down for the most part, no immediate intervention on my part. We'll see how long it stays quiet.....

Up early to assist with KP duties again. Today should be last day of that....

-7°F and very windy this morning, going all the way up to 6° today. Wind chill was -28° when I walked out to feed the chickens. The Carhartt stuff earned its keep today.

Yesterday started out in the mid-40s in the morning. By 11:00 the sleet and light snow had started. Boss handed out bonus checks and sent everyone home early. Drive home wasn't too bad, just slower than normal. We were predicted to get 4-8 inches of snow, then 2-4, then 1-3. We ended up with about maybe 2 inches, but the 20-30 mph wind spread it pretty thin in most places. Not likely going out for the rest of the day. +3° right now. Temps will be steadily rising over the next few days until we're back in the mid-50s by Thursday.

iThingie weather widget says it's "Breezy" right now. Scrolling down, it shows wind from the NW at 24 mph.

My Wife still really likes her 2018 Niro, RNG.

check, according to wunderground (the U.S. site I pay attention to) says 12" for you and 6 for me.
Neighbour wants her driveway plowed so I will go out and might as well do them all. That'll be 5 in total. I picked up one last winter and another one this past fall. I gotta drive right past two of them so it is no big deal to do them too.

One brother in Ohio said he had -8 and no power. Sister has -8, another brother had -2.
Dads power was out but is back on. He has his wood furnace going.

Here it is now 15°. Gusts of wind only 20mph, but my weather station is kind of sheltered from wind where it sits.

Any vegan employee options?

Vegan and vegetarians got completely screwed the first year. Their option was a sack of veggie burgers, green beans with onions, and taters.

They added in a second option that had veggie casserole the past two years, but I'm drawing a blank on what the main item was. The casserole actually sounded pretty decent, though, and wished it was available with one of the meat options.

Actual temp is -4F right now, windchill is -31F, wind is blowing 30 mph out of the WSW.

Hit -5F at one point.

Big swarm of black birds and others out around the feeders.

Temps will start rising around 16:00 and continue on up from there.

USPS just drove down the driveway and dropped off a package from Amazon …
