You know, heated biker clothes this week is not a bad idea, however I would not know where to plug them in on the Kubota. The windchill is supposed to be zero Friday when I am scheduled to work.
When I rode, I had heated gloves, and they had a 2-pole flat plug (like a battery maintainer) so if you have a battery maintainer for your tractor, you should be ready to go (but you may need an extension depending on where your connection is).

Good. morning! 44˚F raining on and off.

45% to 100% chance of rain during my shift. Waiting to be canceled but this is the week the Farm is expecting the kids since there is no school. I bet the owner is having hard decisions to make weather to close or stay open today. At least the temps will stay in the 40s all day and the frigid weather will not arrive till Thursday. The farm is already advertising free cookies to increase attendance in this less than perfect weather.

I like the idea of a battery operated coat, that way I won't forget to un-plug at the stops. I'm still banking that shifts will be canceled when it gets below freezing, will see.

. I am not sure it is the motor, it may be the switch and I am not prepared to play the $600++ guessing game. The blower works on high and I can open the front window when it gets too hot, or I can shut it off.

Many times automotive type blowers use resistors to provide the lower speeds. If that’s the case your motor is fine, because it does run on high, which would bypass the resistors. How many wires go to the blower? Do you have a schematic or wiring diagram?

Good morning, low temp 22 and going to a high of 27°F. Wind WNW 11 mph. 60% chance of flurries.

I prefer to acclimatize myself to the colder weather, that way when the 2 weeks of -40F temperatures come it doesn't feel all that cold.
In the ten years I have owned this tractor, I have never let it idle to 'warm up'. I have a winter front on it and after the hydraulics stop howling I put 'er to work at about 1500 rpm. After I see the temp gauge moving up a little off stone cold or the heater starts blowing warm air, then I bump the engine speed up to 18-1900 rpm and that is where it stays until I am ready to shut it down.
It seems like Kioti is pretty proud of their heater blowers, they want $610.oo + tax + shipping for a new one. I am not sure it is the motor, it may be the switch and I am not prepared to play the $600++ guessing game. The blower works on high and I can open the front window when it gets too hot, or I can shut it off.

Another energy conservation day.

Have a safe day all
Way back when, on my my first car (1975 Chevy Impala), the heater quit.

it was in the switch.

I drilled a half-inch hole under the dash and installed a pull-chain switch from a lamp to turn the heater on/off.

if I had a rheostat I would have used that, but that would have cost money back then and at 19 I had more important things to spend money on (like beer and smokes 🤣😂).

Good Morning
It’s 26 with a high of 36 for today under clear skies.

Yesterday was a good day, a little breezy and cold, but better than rain or snow.
We did get pictures of the movie set, they installed a roadway and parking area out of 3x12 plastic planks to access it from the neighbors property, as the wanted to preserve it’s abandoned lane for a scene that they want to shoot.

I was told that they originally wanted to burn the house down for a scene, but that the environmental study showed that they would have to do a lot of remediation first, so they are building additions to it that will be burned instead. That can be seen in the second picture, the left most building is the house.

Stopped my my neighbor selling Christmas trees, and things are not going well there. It looks like he will have close to 200 cut trees left that he will have to chip or most likely burn. And he had 200 less trees than he did last year. He is thinking that all the news talk about high prices and low availability scared people into artificial trees. At this time, his prices are lower than last year, so it doesn’t make sense.

Morning all, 27 and feels colder

Philly trip was uneventful, dropped off son and gf at redlobster for them to have lunch after concert.
Area of Philly (Society Hill) famous for it's old architecture and Larry Fine.

The place we used to get our trees closed when the owners retired and the kids did not want to run it anymore. So many memories of going with my FIL to pick a tree, usually a day or 2 before xmas so he could save a few $.

My GGF spoke 5 languages, my GF 3, my mother 2 and me, barely english
Dealing with people in dozens of countries each day, this can lead to some less than stellar results, but I try to keep it slow and easy and try to use words in their language when I can.

M7040-awful to hear a family burned out in this day and age, think we would be more civilized by now.....

Well back to day job for a bit, and hopefully get some more panels up.

Be well,

Good morning, 29 going to 36 cold today.
Had to get up earlier to take the dog out. I think he got too much cabbage last night. Since I was up anyway took the time to add firewood to the stove and get it hot
Taking wife in to infusions at the DR office today and fill up with diesel.
On our recent trip we saw several plantings with Christmas trees stacked up in piles. Not selling as well?
Takes many years to grow and then cut and not selling must be frustrating.
When I rode bikes I froze. No heated clothing

Good Morning,
The low this morning was 33F, presently 35 with sunny skys, forecast high of 44.

Did more cleaning and sorting in the work shop. Found the power cord for the CD player, and some CD's... more tunes to work by.

Better half due home today, finished up her honey do list yesterday. All easy stuff, although finishing up pressure washing of the second story was no fun when it is 42F out.

Chimney guy coming in 20 minutes to see what it is going to cost to properly install my wood stove.

Be safe out there.
