ummm, it's cold outside. currently -23C (-10F) however with the wind chill / frostbite warning it is currently 9 AM and -33C (-27F)
even the dog did not bother to pee when i took her out, after 12 hrs inside

my friends in Calgary are suffering at a windchill of -41 C / - 41 F

yikes. stay safe wherever you are, bundle up.

ALL of the Highways are under snowfall warnings / alerts, and stupid temperatures

Stopped my my neighbor selling Christmas trees, and things are not going well there. It looks like he will have close to 200 cut trees left that he will have to chip or most likely burn. And he had 200 less trees than he did last year. He is thinking that all the news talk about high prices and low availability scared people into artificial trees. At this time, his prices are lower than last year, so it doesn’t make sense.

That is strange when most of PA has a tree shortage.

Meanwhile at the Texas "Farm". They just bulldozed out 3 acres of peach trees to make more room for Christmas trees.

Arrived at work just when it started thundering and raining, never started the tractor and got to go home early, which was perfectly fine with me, I like to keep busy at "Play".

I use a dark roast coffee ground on a commercial grinder set at the Turkish grind, I add one spoonfull of ground coffee to a 1 quart French press, let it steep for about 5 - 10 minutes and push the plunger down and pour into a regualar coffee cup and drink. For a sweetener I use Kahlua. Tia Mariea will work too but I find it too bitter for me.

Coffee is brewing. 23° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 29° with partly cloudy skies. Got motion sensor installed in security system yesterday. Door lock was a no go. Z-wave out put is gone. Ordered new lock. Should be today. Off to get Sassy her Christmas grooming in morning. Will do some last minute shopping while she is there. Weather does not look good for Thursday/Friday this week. I only need to drive on Saturday evening rest of the week.

24F and cloudy @ 15:30, heading down to around 21F for the overnight low.

Temp out in the garage was still holding at 39F as of last night, haven't inquired yet as to what it was this morning.

Weather looking nasty here Thursday/Friday as Ron mentioned.

Rinsed down south wall in utility room with plain water yesterday, efflorescence seems mostly gone now.

Left fan running on it overnight, should be dry enough to start putting up foam board today.

Got one panel moved into the room yesterday and wiped down with wet rag to clean the dust off of it.

Did some sanding and staining.

Put a drywall mud tray under some water valves that have a continual drip, not looking forward to cleaning up that mess.

Rinsed out water filter again and stuck it back in the Iron Out solution to soak a little more. Will work on that a little more later.

Fed fish.

Second batch of enchiladas was even better than the first, Woman used a mix of regular and "medium hot" enchilada sauce and included black beans this time around, also refrieds had jalapeños in them ...

She also made chocolate peanut butter fudge and I got to lick the pan and spatula ... Unfortunately though, She went over to neighbor's for dinner and left all the fudge there ...

Today is the day we take trash up to the road, recyclables need to go too ... as the bin here at the house is full. There's a good amount of it, as it didn't get taken up last week.

Not sure what all will be on agenda for the rest of the day beyond that.

I got a text from the SIL. The (almost brand new) Husq 440 chainsaw early Christmas present went flying off his ATV, onto his frozen driveway and shattered into pieces. Arrgh! Now, I get to go over there to see how bad it is and start making repair/replacement plans. I gave this to him, since I was tired of tinkering with his poor starting Poulan.

He has a hard time keeping stuff running, so I keep getting retirement "projects" (like I need the extra ones).

Significant winter storm expected late this week into the holiday weekend.

Precipitation may begin as rain or snow late Thursday before possibly transitioning to rain in many areas early Friday. Temperatures are expected to plummet on Friday leading to a potential flash freeze for locations that receive rainfall. Rapidly falling temperatures will be accompanied by strong to potentially damaging winds along with snow that may be heavy at times. Blizzard conditions are possible late Friday into the weekend for areas downwind of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay.

A multi-day lake effect snow event is expected into the weekend in the wake of the system for locations east of the Great Lakes.

While there is high confidence in a high impact winter storm, the details regarding wind speeds, precipitation types and amounts remain highly uncertain at this time. Please monitor your local forecast and the latest alerts for your area.

Consider altering plans through the holiday weekend as travel conditions may become dangerous. Extensive utility outages are possible. Temperatures Friday night into the weekend will likely be the coldest of the season to date.
