48 outside this AM. Heading to upper 70's.

Looks like a a great start to the day and weekend.

On the Wolf Snout you can go to their web site directly and get kit.

This has been the most difficult week of my life. One day, one hour at a time.
Rip - have not heard from you in a while, doing ok?

sounds like Rip is hard at work in the milkhouse
takes a lot of time to keep up here...if you aren't retired, folks
have too much on their plates other than to come say hi once in a while.

He's been falling a lot lately. he has one hip replaced and pins in the other. He face planted the snow plow last spring which chewed up his face and face planted the garage door last fall, which resulted in a 4" cut across his forehead. He won't stop for anything though. Up at 4:30 every day and out to the shop to tinker only coming in for meals. He's only 75 though so he still gets around ok, just falls a lot.

Looks like it's going to be sunny and breezy today. I have been thinking about mowing leaves all week but up until today mother nature vetoed that.

I ran up to to the grocery store. I noticed the guy mowing in front of the airport was running over the political signs. That's the way I feel about it too and that is all I will say about that except that must be hard on the blades. o_O

Keep up the good work

Chris

my errand of brisket mercy completed, Popgadget's awesome smoked brisket delivered to Ken along with some
recuperative local orchard apples.

because local road shut due to replacing small bridge, took a different direction to Ken's, over/under the little wooden bridge on
Covered Bridge Road. Very scenic out, leaves falling, private road into Ken's home covered over like Fall snow.

now headed outside to finish planting tulips. really want to plant them out front but that's like waving
a red flag to a bull. I suppose I could fence one small area.

Good morning to all! Low of 34°, only going up to around 45°, chances of rain / snow mix. This is the only place that I've lived that there could be snow above 32°. I believe it's because of our elevation at almost 7000 ft. If the ceiling/cloud cover is low enough, the snow doesn't have a chance to melt... at least not all of it.

Didn't get to do the oil change on the car yesterday. Went to our local parts store.... no oil filter in stock. I need to go into town this afternoon, so I'll get one there. I'm not too concerned, the car has synthetic oil in it, but I still change at 5k miles, not at 10K, like the dealer says is ok. Peace of mind at a small price....

I did get to go out to the shop and start on the wifey's shelf project. Got it cut, sanded, and stained. A quick coat of wax, some rubbing/buffing this morning, and install this afternoon. I still need to drill the mounting holes in the decorative metal sides of the unit.... shouldn't be too hard. The sides are 3/4" square tube, really thin wall.

The shelf will go centered on the cross buck. Wifey still needs to clear off the nick-nacks........

I found some 1/2"x1/2" aluminum angle out in the shop that I used for the frame for the grow lights. Cut the pieces to size and riveted the corners. Thought about breaking out the mig/tig, but that's more than needed.... rivets work. Glued up some wood side supports that the channel will mount to and span the length. This way, she can use 1, 2, or 3 grow lights as needed. I'll post a pic of the finished unit later.

Heading out to the shop now and get some waxing done before leaving for town...
Everyone have a great day!
