Dennis, your lot is in a beautiful location. Used to drive through the Roanoke area going down to Elon University NC to visit kid in college

Cold morning, was down in the mid 40's going up to 70. Some rain in the forecast tomorrow.

Dropped off Cody at the grooming place in Frederick this morning. Shelties need deshedding and grooming often to prevent the tumbleweeds of fur in the house.

One of our kids had a surprise that she owed 10000 dollars in back taxes and penalties from 2018. Apparently the tax preparer had screwed up when it was filed. Now she has to deal with that and get it payed to stop penalties from accruing

Getting back to focus on the mini split installation again. Got the 2.5 inch by 9.5 inch hole saw for the brick wall. Getting the SDS pilot bit shipped from Ediamond tools. Figured out the thickness of the wall to be 16 inches so will drill from both sides.

The Wolfsville Small engine show is coming up first Sunday in October

60F and mostly cloudy @ 11:00, heading up to a high of around 65F. Possibility of some showers this morning, chance of rain 30%.

Got oil put in plate compactor yesterday, discovered that there are actually two fill holes which made it a little easier (one hole is kind of blocked by the muffler)

Placed order for cat litter and plastic washers @ Menards.

Reserved towable man lift for next weekend @ rental place.

Got most of the screened clay moved down to pole barn, pile in front replenished plus probably 15 bucketloads or so placed along the back side.

Agenda for today:

Run down to the corner and get gas and diesel.

Refuel Cub, Kubota, and plate compactor.

Finish moving rest of clay down.

Spread out clay behind pole barn and compact it.

Maybe mow down here around the house if there is time.

Hope everyone has a great Saturday ... (y)

Looks like lot seat time flat mowing. :)

Open area is easy mowing, gentle slope to north. I can either take my Massey and 6 ft finish mower or the BX23 I bought from my MIL that is still down in VA. Thought about getting a 4 ft Bush hog for it, but if I keep it mowed pretty often, the finish mower will be enough. Since I got my ZT I don’t use the old finish mower much.
The weeds are tall on the road side of the swale, but main field isn’t too bad.

Buppies, glad I already ate breakfast. ;)

Sorry for your fall.

BEF, you sure had a nice day for the drive down there. I don't get down that way often enough.

Absolutely gorgeous day yesterday. Can’t get much better.
This morning going into Costco I was wishing I had gone for a hike instead. Would have cost a lot less.
I settle on lot in a couple weeks if they get paperwork done.

A get together would be nice.

71°F and no rain.

This morning we get to meet a couple interested in our experience building our house with SIPs. Don’t know much about them other than they are from from Hawai area and have an Art gallery. Meeting was initiated by my SIP supplier who is now something of a friend. We have done this before, but many years closer to our actual build. Always interesting especially as I find artistic types often have a different perspective.

I should attempt a PO visit before as I have a number of Amazon items that show as delivered.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Hopefully the three of us can get together sometime, I know this area pretty well RoanokeValley

Too bad the farm house restaurant over in Catawba closed.

The restaurant near the lot was good, liked it better than the one near Buchannon.

Did anyone see I81 in the picture? Here’s a zoom in.

Last week we drove down the James river valley from Eagle Rock to Buchannon, that is down the top half of this picture.

Good Morning Everyone,

I need to catch up as usual, but this is the FIRST TIME IN MONTHS that I have the house to myself and I can fry an egg in the kitchen if I want to. Long story, but 30 min ago, Sister in Law left for the 8 hr drive to Prince George (for a few days), and Wife is still in P G helping their dad. Anyways, I probably have 3-4 days to do whatever I want - yay.

Yesterday a buddy wanted me to go with him to check out an Estate Sale about 1.5 hrs away ... Cars, Tractors, Tools, Machines, ride on mowers, general supplies, and a whole lot of misc junk. I think my friend wanted the company, and he needed my truck - so I drove out there with him. Lots of stuff, lots of hoarded junk, but they were clearing things out. I had no cash with me, and that was probably a good thing.

Buddy decided to pass on the 1 Ton truck with dump deck that he went back for. Too much of a project. He bought an old ANVIL $100, some misc items, chains, J D wheels (that might fit my mower), and a gas stove. Filled the truck.

I had gone out there looking for a grille and mower deck that might work for the Jacobsen Super Chief 1450 (nothing). I made a list off things that I was interested in, if we go back in a couple of weeks (when the estate manager is back). They were still using most of the items that I was interested in ...
- Honda water pump with fire hose (potential)
- heavy duty battery Charger / Booster (in use)
- fuel tank on cradle stand (needs to be accessed yet)
- Snap On air compressor
- large floor jack (in use)
- miller welder (I don't weld, but it was excellent)
- large drill press (buddy wants)
- FMC tire changer (buddy wants)
- Honda Generator 5000
- large metal / wire cage (free - thinking chicks, rabbits, quail)
- old Wall Phone from 60s-70s (free ?)
- Beaumont project car (nope, in the will)
- old 70s Honda 350 cc motorcycle (nope, in the will - I can't ride, but it had my interest)

I did leave with a cool tin can of WHIZ heavy duty Brake Fluid, I liked the can, it looks old, has French / English writing on it (Canada) and was full. I've never seen that brand. (internet image: I know nothing about it)

We went for dinner at Denny's, then I brought the stuff to his place. Long Day, nice break. :)
