Good morning!!!!

Good Evening / Very Early Morning

I had a busy couple of days with bookkeeping and sending a packaged to Canada Revenue Agency for a client. Nice to have that monster file behind me. I sent it Express Post, so it should be there on Friday. Now to get the invoice figured out.
Computer will probably be taken in tomorrow (and by that I mean that my techie guy is picking it up, stealing it for a couple of days), to get issues resolved, updates done. Thanks for the continued thoughts and prayers. Must wash eggs in the morning.

daugen - uggh, glad that you got that remedied quickly with the shop vac. For now I'll stay on the injured / recovering list - shoulder still tires easily, sore, fingers are numb most days (weird feeling, like a pin under the nail) Good Story about the watch payment / gift

popgadget - you can come to my place anytime to visit, cook, tinker ...

m7040 - I can relate to so much of what you say. All 3 of our children are Adopted, ... one via Domestic Adoption here in BC, and then an older / younger sibling set via International Adoption (Haiti). I took them power-sledding as I called it, dragging them through snow drifts with the quad. Fun Times.
I love the wood pile storage

riptides - step counter / pedometer (?) I used a cheap one for a few years, hung on my waist, a full day was about 4000 steps for me. I should get one and then walk the dog down the road to the stop sign ... 2 kms return.

BEF - exciting times for sure, hoping it all goes smoothly for you. Not sure what I'd do with that tank, but there are possibilities

Alien - thanks, no sign of the little dog yet, I don't think the bear got it ... more likely that it got scared, and lost, or what we fear now ... possibly a Bird Of Prey - owl, eagle. Hoping that someone found it though.

LittlebittybigJohn - NICE catch, we have lots of turtles out here, not very big though. Welcome to this Good Morning thread

mostly-gas - My only fear about running for the Regional Director position in the coming election, is ... that I would likely get in. Typically there might only be 2-3 people running at most, and I know a lot of people. Been planted in this community for 21 years. I'm sure the job would be fine, interesting, fun, but the timing for me is not good for taking that on right now. This region has probably 4500 residents, and I dare say that most of them know me. I kinda stand out, ... I have my whole life - that also keeps one at their best behaviour :). Good thing is that apart from a few criminals with a grudge, I make good connections easily, and the government / political stuff is familiar to a degree from my career. I'm leaving things alone, this time, but give it 4 years ... ?

I had the opportunity to visit my (middle) daughter, her husband, and my grandson yesterday. They took a photo. This little guy is now 6 months old, and 2 teeth have surfaced. Happy little guy. I'm going by "Pappy" and my wife will be "Nana". What a Blessing ❤️ Son in law has the parts now for my GMC Tracker, and the Isuzu Spacecab ... so progress is pending shortly.

58° now dew point 56° cloudy and high’s around 70° today. Total rain for the past two days was 1.92” I hope we can get back to more normal rainfall/weather cycles. (yes, I know, wishful thinking)

Yesterday was an inside day, spent a bit of time cleaning the heat registers/ducts, won’t be to much longer before the heat gets turned back on.

Need to hit the grocery store this morning and do a dump run this afternoon. Not sure what I’ll fit in between.

Enjoy your day everyone

Kyle, your post was wonderful.
BEF, very exciting. I'd read that HOA very carefully, never know what the future and new neighbors bring.

cooler cloudy day today as we dry out from several inches of rain. and my basement continues to dry out, fan roaring away down there. I think by end of today it will all be
a memory. Thank goodness for dehumidifiers.

PT this morning and then lunch with treasurer of church. We need to discuss what happened to my old tractor I gave to Meeting 9 years ago when I left for NC.
It is a real mystery and I sense evasion. We are a faith that has Truthfulness as part of our prime directives so I know I'll find out what happened.
As in most things, follow the money. And he's the money guy, and is a devoted protector of our finances, so he will know. Someone had to pay for that tractor.
I'm taking him some very nice plump tomatoes that his wife wants so the fix is in.

Buppies, hope wife is ok. Hope you had a great time.

70 outside this AM, rain is expected off and on. Looks like a few more grass cuttings are in the near future.

Hoping all have a productive day. Be safe.

re-pointing caretaker's house at church progressing slowly. This wall about half way done. We can only afford to do one wall at a time without totally wrecking
our disaster savings fund. About a 60k job total and trying to do that out of cash flow is impossible. Mason is two houses away from me, nice guy, wife loves my tomatoes.
He's doing job for 50 bucks an hour. Plus materials. Seems very fair when you consider what plumbers and electricians charge around here. That starts around 130 and hour and just goes up and up. Almost like a car dealer these days...

Am hoping this lasts many generations. Mason knows our church is so old he is part of something historical. But not this building. That's not local fieldstone, like house I grew up in, where every once in a while you could find a plow share scraping on the rock. This was a rubble house of sorts but the new mortar is making the colors pop like never before.
Something I spearheaded and pushed for, because it will last the ages. Which none of us will so nice to leave something lasting.

70 going to 78.

Buppies, prayers said for your wife.

Pappy, real cute grandson. Enjoy!

BEF, hope it all works out. You deserve a nice place. Wish it was here in Virginia, but next door is okay.

Yesterday was another day of coffee roasting and mowing once the grass dried. Today, need to put the bushhog on the tractor and hit a few areas that I'm getting ready to plant for fall.

Been getting bear photos on the game cams all summer, but none have come up to the house...just the raccoons skunks, foxes, possums, etc. Pulled the card from one cam for the first time this summer, and found frequent bobcat day and night. But this one photo was my favorite...

"One thing I've learned over the years is this. When it comes to math, use it or lose it. I couldn't do calculus to save my life anymore, because I haven't done it in about 37 years. Same with foreign language. I knew a guy who grew up in Germany, at age 22 he moved to America. At 45, he told me he had to practice German for a few days before he called his mother."

I can relate to this immigrating to USA at 25 years old and switching to English. Learned English mostly by watching commercials on tv but did not use my native language after a while even when my wife is also Danish native. Became easier to speak English. I am regretting not teaching our kids the Danish language. Lately I found out how to access Danish movies and shows by using VPN that gives access to danish Web as if we live there and my Danish speaking ability is back just listening to this
