54° right now...feels really good with a with the bedroom window open. High around 80°

Wifey and stepdaughter should be in Florida, but haven't heard from them...that's not too untypical.

Margeaux is doing great...no chewing on anything or stealing clothes out of the hamper. It's taken her a while to settle in, but she's getting there.

I need to make a dump run...that'll be today or tomorrow.

More later, I reckon...actually I just got up this early to take a pee...figured I'd read TBN. Back to bed now as it's 0329 here

59° now dew point 57° high’s in the low to mid 80’s and sunny today.

The rain we had a two days ago sure jump started the grass and weeds, that will be today’s project to get started on.

@Mostly - we did enjoy lunch yesterday, nice breeze at the coast. Another of today’s projects is to set trap for groundhog. I’ve found melon rinds work very well.

@Ken - When the back yard was fenced in I’ve seen the little buggers climb up and over a 5ft fence. Of course he was a bit surprised when he couldn’t get back out fast enough. lol

Enjoy your day everyone
Stay safe and healthy

Prayers for those in need, our country and peace around the world

good morning all
65 going up to 85, another sunny hot summer day
next week the real heat comes, whole string of days in mid 90's.

For the driveway, coat all that larger gravel with about 1 1/2-2" of crusher fines.
Good advice, thank you. I have an order in for exactly that, but not so thick, maybe an inch. Landscaper has it on his "to do" list.
This 3/4 clean gravel is driving me nuts, should have been overlaid from the beginning. Hard to pull the trash cans on. Almost impossible to push
that trailer on. Plus 3/4 inch is exactly the width in my snowblower between the auger and the frame and the stones are wrecking my snowblower.
Popgadget came once last year to unbend it. Yes, need a better solution.

social day today, meeting old friend going through chemo at museum in Doylestown, he felt good enough he wanted to do some walking around.
Then meeting another couple for lunch; fun since the guys were all in the same high school class, class of 53, 1967.

NHBX, thanks for prayers for world peace. We sure need it.

David/Sodamo, wow, that's impressive, nice job on the man lift. I spent a lot of money buying an OSHA one, that looks functionally the same. Nice job.
Bet that felt good cleaning off your solar panels. You'll be going all over the place with your new rig. Don't fall off....

this picture made me very happy.
My oldest brother Mark has a family lake home way up at top of Upper Peninsula Michigan.
When I moved to NC I had no time to boat, busy farmer, so I gave Mark my 16' Scout.
A beautiful boat, top fit and finish, and for the last month it has been sitting waiting for Yamaha carbs to show up.
Supply chain, yada yada. Carbs came in yesterday, and out on the water he went. Little boat has everything, chartplotter, depth finder and gps VHF.

I loved that boat, wife and I spent endless nights going out the Sassafras River in the Chesapeake until we got out to the end, looked over at Baltimore, then came back
the 9 miles up river to the marina. This was a new motor too when I gave it to him. Old carbs plugged up. New motor carbs now plugged up. All the gas there is ethanol.
So no surprise. Tiny little carbs on those engines with tiny little fuel lines.

If I were to do it again, I would go with the German Torqueedo electric outboards. 80hp.

Good morning! 69˚ (feels cool may need a jacket) heading hopefully to LESS THAN 100˚ today. Yesterday afternoon temp was 101˚ but then the clouds and wind and lightening (no rain) rolled in and made Whippers walk a 95˚ walk instead of an over 100˚ walk, a real relief.

I could not convince the card executive board to change the way we play hand and foot cards to reduce the wait time between games. I knew change would be difficult and thinking out of the box was a bit too much for them to grasp. Oh, well, no problem.

I have a new pair of hearing aids on order. The hearing test at Costco showed hearing did not improve or get worse. That annoying little voice in my current hearing aids telling me repeatedly that "compilot is on, compilot is off, compilot is on" etc... will be gone in a week.

Ranchers are selling off their cattle because of the lack of grass, hay and water as 97% of Texas is in a drought.

67 going to 86 and mostly sunny.

LS, sorry you didn't get better news at the doctor. Your condition sounds pretty rough.

Wag, Happy St Swithin Day (I had to look that up...kinda like our Groundhog Day?)

That power wash rig is a real smart build, Sodamo.

Spayed 6 gallons of gly yesterday using my backpack sprayer...it's been impossible to find a no-wind day except when early morning dew covered the ground. Yesterday, I would choose where to spray based on whether the wind calmed, or a breeze picked back up.

Got a shower and then my wife calls out in pain...her back/hip has been bothering her for a couple of months, and her doctor looked it over, but yesterday it was acute, and she couldn't walk without me assisting...took her to the ortho emergency-type clinic...after x-rays and examination, set her up with an appointment with a back specialist, some PT, and some prescriptions. Picked up salads at Chick-fil-A to take home for dinner. Got up at 3am to "nurse" her.

Son and DIL coming to visit tonight.

Morning all, Beautiful cool morning here. My wife has been watering the garden. One bewildering thing is how rabbits get through the garden fence. The wire is 2X4 and I wish I had used smaller mesh. The blueberries are slowing down. The catbirds seem to have lost interest in blueberries.

Wednesdays job was to put the cap back on the tundra. I wanted a better lift point in the barn. No problem Just throw some 2X8s up in the timber frame, screw them together and fasten them down, hook on the chain hoist. Good to go. Yeah right. Took all afternoon. I can see a time when I need to not be climbing ladders. I was pretty tired. I ended taking Thursday afternoon off. I love a nap. Next job is working on the boat trailer bearings. I don't know if i will get to it today.

If you like to be scared you might like Dr. Greg Poland's latest update from the Mayo clinic on YouTube.

Take care.

Chris

Disappointing visit at the neurologist, no real answers, only speculation.

MAYBE the swelling is caused by the inflammatory response to the pain I'm experiencing.....
MAYBE the pain is present because of the initial trauma and the subsequent 3 surgeries.
MAYBE just due to hypersensitivity from the previous reasons....

I'm now scheduled for a 'nerve block study'. They will inject an anesthetic into the 3 nerve bundles in the knee.... then for the next 8 hours, I will do a "pain scale" during 'normal' activity....
I told him that I can't really do my 'normal' activity. I told him I can barely go up 3 steps..... He said do what you can.

After this 'test' is done, he would then schedule another surgery to permanently cauterize the nerves in the knee. He said he normally would just do the cauterization first, but my insurance requires the first "test" to be done before they will authorize the second.

I just want to get beyond all this. Bad enough that I lost my career and almost $500K earnings.... I just want to get on with life.....
Dang LS...wish the news were positive.
