Well, didn't go out to the shop... except for a bag of pellets.
The high temp didn't get anywhere near the forecast, only 43°, not the mid 50's as the guessers predicted. And.... it got breezy at 15-20 mph. Not sure what the "feels like" temp was.

We decided to have an early dinner. The steaks were the best we have had in a long time. They were 'Prime' but I got them at 40% off due to being close to the 'sell by' date. They were far thicker than I thought, we both only ate 1/2, so left overs are on the future menu....

Thinking a bowl of ice cream later..... I can splurge... officially lost 30lbs. My goal is another 15 lbs, slow but steady..... I think the docs will be happy next week.

BEF, sounds like you're making good progress. Have you found anything that you forgot about?

A lot of jugs of old oil

And I only recently started changing my own oil again, I took them in for years, so this is from way back.

The snow plow for my old wheel horse mower is in there. I really need to get that engine rebuilt and get it running again. It’s in barn with engine removed, then I stopped. Can’t find a replacement engine that fits.

Found old milk jug. Paint is peeling.

I disassembled an old hughesnet sat dish.

Popgadget, sorry to hear about the crash and that your friend was involved. Weather related?

Thanks for the condolences everyone.

My friend was giving flight instruction to the aircraft owner, who was working on his commercial license. The owner was an experienced private pilot, and they were working on maneuvers required for the commercial pilot certificate. Weather was not a factor, but at the moment, there is no clear cause, the two pilots were experienced, the airplane was well maintained.

Wife read on a local community Facebook page that people in town have been getting their Starlink orders shipped within the last two weeks. So, I signed up and put us on the order waiting list today.

One guy commented that he got 100-150Mbps with it sitting on his driveway, but it dropped to 40-50Mbps when he mounted it on an existing pole, due to tree interference. Geez, even 40-50 would be 13-17 times faster than we currently get from HughesNet (we are usually between 1-3Mbps). Others said they are getting about 100Mbps. I'll take that, either way.

The end is near for our HughesNet travesty.

I disassembled my old hughesnet antenna today. I replaced them years ago with Exede, then got rid of Exede a few years back when the LTE mobley proved to work well. Hughesnet only wanted the modem back, Exede only wanted the LNA from the dish.

Oh man, I wish I was, too. When I checked my Starlink account yesterday, it was still saying mid-2022 for my installation. I put my deposit down over a year ago...

Still 2022 for me as well, only 10 months left. I remain hopeful.
