Hope wifey feels better Roy
So do I...
She's trying to do more then (IMHO) she's ready to do...plus, probably a cold too. Both she and I
Drew- glad your kitchen did not catch fire.

Dftodd- how poorly made that the element cracked like that?

Last time I saw a heating element break was due to age and impact. Seems like yours had neither, maybe a factory defect.

My grandfather had Jag mk7 with the burl wood tray tables and a silver tissue holder in the back.
He got rid of it as maintenance was so expensive.
Had two gas tanks and fillers. Fun English designs of the era.
Fun as a kid to have pretend classy picnics in the back.
Looked like this one, might even have been this color:

I almost bought a Mark II sedan...my favorite Jag sedan. This was when I was stationed in Naples, Italy

Had an E-Type for several years...beautiful coupe

They were up to 1968...they lost the headlight shroud (probably the wrong word) then. Fortunately, the bumpers weren't the hideous ones in later years.
The '68'salso had the 4.2 liter engines which didn't have the redline of the earlier 3.7 engines

I actually owned a Mk7 for a while.I liked the walnut dash and the little fold down tool kit in the drivers door. Mine was grey.

Roy, that car looks really close, the last one they had was a deep burgundy,
that paint was so rich it looked like you could squeeze wine out of it.

I remember playing with the hood ornament, the Leaper.
I had one of those on my 2004 XJR. That was the last of the classic Jags, though many would say these older models
were the classic ones. Now it was a little leaper and while it didn't disappear it was held down by a spring mechanism that allowed it to be moved around a little.

When I was about 18, I bought an early 60’s Mk II sedan. It had a 3.4 liter engine with a burnt valve. I did a valve job on it and drove it for several years. It had the tables and all the wood that drew described. It was a great car to drive, and even with Lucas and Smith’s electrics was quite reliable.

Good evening all. 42ºF for the start, clear sky, light breeze. Windy day today, sky remain clear, and high temp was 69ºF, DP 41ºF. Rain tomorrow night more cold this week and next. Bike ride to beat the worst of the wind still had .93 mile wind penalty. Putter after that nap after lunch. Need to get wood wagon and wheel barrow filled for cold coming.
Jim I never heard of anyone trying that here in the states.
James that is cold
