Good morning!!!!

We have great recycling and trash handling at our transfer stations...individual bins for cardboard, paper, can/bottles/plastic, used oil, paint, anti-freeze, batteries, old propane tanks, metal, etc. On my many visits, I've observed most people using one or more of the recycling bins when they bring their trash.

Where I used to live, they made the largest city park out of the landfill...it is the highest point in the city, used for sledding in the winter, fireworks on Independence Day, and has a huge playground, skateboard park and lakes for the rest of the year...Mt. Trashmore...
Yep, I remember Mount Trashmore from my time in the Navy!!

36°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 62° today.

The knucklehead factor at work seems to have ratcheted up to an abnormally high level over the last couple of days. Holiday stress maybe? Dunno, but it's not making my workdays any brighter. So it goes. Part of the territory when you're a Quality Jerk. May help me enjoy having tomorrow off even more.

Drew, the garbage trucks here are not the auto pickup type. A has to take my trash can out to back of truck. There is a hydraulic mechanism that catches a bar in front of trash can. It is then lifted up and over to dump. Then returned to ground level when empty. There is some control of speed. Getting it done as fast as possible is the way it is done. Which slams trash can to the ground on return. This can is the one I got when they started pickup some 30 years ago. I keep repairing it. I hauled my own trash for 20 years. To cheap to higher a trash hauler.

67°F and .34 inches rain. Even a bit of redness in sky this morning. Hopeful.

Not sure what I’ll get into today. Wx depending.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

home and glad to be here.
But some excitement, a loose Burmese mountain dog running around in our yards.
Nice dog, friendly, tail wagging, collar but I'm not grabbing on to any 130 pound dog to investigate.
It's having a ball across the street playing with their big standard poodle. Two very nice dogs, but this one
got loose and needs to go home. I've never seen it before. I called the Township building across the street and down a little bit and told them this beautiful
dog was going to get hit by a car right outside their office, and neighbors were worried, could she do something. On yes, will get right on it.
So should be a show out here shortly when we'll see who was given the job.

I'm off to take my fully charged battery and see if I can find the old one. If not I'll have to bribe Ken with an apple pie for his help...but I am determined
to figure this out by myself. And then I have to really organize the garage and create some space for car. But of course some leaves have to be sucked up as long as I'm
moving the mower out.

Currently 33F and cloudy, heading up to a high of 39F supposedly. Calling for warmer temps in the Ten Day, including a high of 65F on Saturday (but rain ... :()

Can see hopper feeder is about empty, so a refill there will be on the agenda, along with the sunflower tube feeders. Probably put some corn out for the deer as well. Some birds and squirrels on the ground out around the feeders searching for tidbits.

Other than that, not sure what else will be on the agenda for the day.

May get back into more cleaning/organizing in the basement.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ... (y)

We Have 2 wheelie bins for trash. 1 is a recycling bin and is collected every 2nd week. The trash is every week. They have never spilled any. I drag 1 at a time out to the road using my ride-on mower. We have a local dump about 6 klm away but it is only open on Sundays now.
If you dump metal or green waste it is free but a load of trash which goes into huge industrial bins will cost you $11. The system works pretty well although the dump in the local town now has a limited life so not sure what will happen then. We need a volcano to dump rubbish in.
Must go check my Powerball ticket.

successful afternoon. Sucked up the leaves, cleaned up the garage so car could just wedge in there, and got the battery replaced
on the snowmobile. Turned the key and vrooom. Only one little problem. Couldn't get the old battery out of hidden position. I cut the two
zip ties holding it but it would not pull out. Before I got more creative, decided to just make sure it worked so found the battery lead, only heavier gauge red
and black wires, and sure enough worked fine. So I tucked it back up underneath where on Saturday I will try to secure with more zip ties.

Now the bad news. Dealer wants the old battery back for warranty claim. I'm wondering if they really do since this is a known problem with this engine/battery.
I don't care, the thing finally runs.
