Hey guys, I know how much you all like build projects, so I'll show you a couple we have recently completed here at the Civic Center. My boss's husband is a metal worker, and we got him to knock this grill together for us. The area it is going to go has to have some dirt brought in and leveled then we are going to put down pavers and a couple of benches. It should be nice when we get it finished. And there are a couple of views from the inside of the cook shed. It's a metal roof and sides with screen and rough cut cypress on the inside. We still need to make some shutters to keep out the blowing rain like we had today, but that will have to wait until the money shakes loose in the budget. We grilled {on a smaller grill} our Christmas party lunch out there and ate it in the cook shed. Lots and lots of rain today, but with good food anything is better.

When I got home my wife told me she had a flat not long after leaving the driveway, so she turned around and drove it back home. Don't know what it was yet, but it put a large hole in the tire. Got the donut on now, will have to go to town in the morning.

Good evening all. Yesterday's trip (10 hrs) was just fine, left 2 hrs late, did have rain until MO-OK border, and the rain did clean off the bike . Drizzle here in North Tex as today high about 54F. Striped bass "sliders" for dinner very good :drink::thumbsup: Long range forecast messing with potential bike ride golf etc.

32F with light misty rain, freezing rain tonight turning to rain in the morning. 1.5" inches of snow earlier today. What a wacky winter so far.

mostly_gas sounds like your bike got a good power washing. Good thing they don't have road salt there.

Yesterday I saw the first slushy ice patches on the local lake. The warm weather coming the next two days will likely melt all that. I don't think ice fishing will start on Jan 1st, the regular opening day. I guess people could toss in ice cubes and fish them out with a net?

51.1F and wet @ 11:45 ...

Got a piece of vertical trim on one side of the overhead door replaced @ the shop earlier today. Then I installed the weather seal on that side, caulked the wood trim on both sides, and caulked the top trim on the man door ... then used some of that Great Stuff expanding foam to fill in behind the trim on the sides.

Before that I worked on cleaning the crud (rust, paint, and apparently mill scale) off the pallet forks ... worked on that some more this evening. Probably about half done with the forks. Hope I can finish them up in the morning.

Made a run this afternoon to Summers Rubber for a few more fittings. After that my young helper stopped by and helped me cut firewood ... got three bucket loads hauled down to the house ... and about a half bucket load cut for the shop. He's supposed to be back over tomorrow afternoon ... with any luck we'll get all the logs I have stockpiled cut and stacked.

Good morning all and a nice Christmas Eve. Wet, .32 inches since last night, a clear spot now and then another line of rain and storms coming through later today. But a remarkable 60 degrees now going up to 69 today. Not going to be a white Christmas anywhere near here.
Warm weather here seems to continue for awhile, bunch of sixty degree days ahead.

Now don't forget to give your tractor a nice sip of Power Supply while you sip your holiday eggnog!

quiet day planned today. The plumbers got all the fixtures installed in my new bathroom and it was great fun seeing everything work, the toilet flush, all those little normal things. The hand held shower wand was DOA, must be something clogging it. But the overhead rain shower worked pretty well, not a big flood like I expected but then trying to get more than three gallons a minute out of anything today is pretty hard, all those internal restrictions for water saving. They replaced my 15 year old Lowes Westinghouse 40 gal water heater, the cheap ones we all see there, with a nice grey 50 gallon Rheem tank. Much fatter tank, had to take the access door off to get it in there, a panel inside the wall under the stairs in the main bedroom, which then supplies all three bathrooms. I'm amazed they raised two girls here in three bathrooms on a 40 gallon hot water tank.
The old tank was so clogged with calcium and rust it took forever to pump the water out; the crud had come up over the drain hole and kept clogging their pump. Oh, you should flush out each year. yeah, like I'm going to run a dirty garden hose over my bedroom carpet out the door?
I'm just amazed the one in there lasted so long, but it was pumping out rust and crud and I just knew it would fail over the holiday. Nope, lots of hot water now. The builder really wanted me to yank the hot water heater and put in a full recirculating instant on system, but here I just said no. with only me in the house, a simple water heater will do just fine.

so today I'll crank up the Christmas carols and start putting things away in the cabinets in that bathroom, and will start getting the bedroom ready for carpet. Good inside work on a wet day. I hope you all get done what you need to today and just have fun with your families.

Good Morning, Merry Christmas Eve. 46˚ heading to 53˚ North wind. The rain missed us yesterday and tonight at midnight the winds will shift from the South and a warming trend will follow hitting 61˚ on Christmas Day. Not really cold enough to get the wood burning stove going so I don't feel bad about putting off the fire wood gathering.

I just finished re-clearing a loop 1 mile trail that Ron and I started. It now goes over the TBN bridge and through the woods. The city kinfolks are heading this way and they always like to run around in the golf cart.

32 right now....a bit of rain coming down. The high today will be 39 and rain on and off all day. I need to go get beer, but that's about all I have planned.

When we got the truck back home, I did notice I'd lost a hubcap...that's the limit to the "damage". That, and I had to invite my neighbor and his son (guy who pulled the truck out) in for a beer, coffee or whatever. So, the only other damage was to that case of Busch I had stashed away...other then losing a day's pay...a good day (yesterday) altogether!

47 this morning and it's already above the forecast high. Hmmm. Off and on rain today. Not even supposed to drop below freezing until next week. Forecast also says it won't get back above freezing after that till next year. .

Merry Christmas Eve everyone. Now get that last minute shopping done. Witch reminds me I need a stocking stuffer for the wife. Oh what a mad house it will be and what to get.

now Farmer, that's easy! You just know in your heart she really wants that computer chip/programmer for your tractor that increases its horsepower by 50%. don't give her the vacuum cleaner; that didn't work last year so stick with tractor parts. It's where her heart is.
