Have a bunch of things going all at once here, trying to smooth out some family drama, working on my sister's project, and breakfast with friends tomorrow.

Have a good one!

Educating folks about Cuba?.....not a job I want. I don't regret not getting into that forum.

Funny how days can take a turn :)

Today was to be the day my sometimes helper comes over for helping with projects I need an extra hand. Basically he works alongside me doing whatever, $100 for the day, lunch, a beer or two. He was laid off locally as a result of ObamaCare and another friend and I share his employment a few days a week. I usually get Thursday. Started raining early and he messaged me. Having planned to do outside projects, we agreed to cancel. Sometimes I think I feel worse about canceling than he does.

So major change of direction, wife encouraging me to go to town and do a bunch of running around. About 6 hours and hundreds of dollars later, back home having achieved all my goals. Managed to score a scratch and dent Whirlpool washer for the cottage for $300. Had been waiting for another machine on order from another store but it still hadn't arrived. This one saved me about $68 and is a better machine. Will install it tomorrow.

Gasman showed up and deposited 170 gals of propane in my tank. Can hardly wait to see that bill. :( last time was $5.25/gallon.

.7 inches of rain so far and still raining.

Life is great.

Good Morning. 0105, partly cloudy, 43F with 98% humidity. Forecast high of 61F with 40% chance of rain today, and a low of 48F tonight. I got pretty soaked washing pots and pans, and it was cool taking the trash out to the dumpster just now. Looks like it will be a cool, over cast day.

I'm still at work, but decided to stop to post to WFS????? before I forgot. It was exciting to hear about the Cuban news, even if it's a bit late for me, as I stopped smoking cigars ten years ago, and I hardly ever watch baseball anymore. I was lucky enough to spend a few weeks at GitMo back in 1983. The beaches where I was at had lots of sharp rocks, but the water was as clear as glass. Now that it looks like it is going to open up, I predict that after a few years of *** in the City reruns the place will be changed forever. It will replace Atlantic City as the east coast gambling spot.

Thanks for all the Anniversary well wishes. So far I have been able to trick her into sticking around.

I had better get my supper pictures posted and get back to work. Like John Prine said in the song, I've found myself on the wrong end of a broom. I'll have to be back here before too long, and if I don't get a certain amount of sleep it will be a long night tomorrow.

Good morning all. 32 going up to 50 today in sunshine. Clear weather mostly for the next three days, then a rain spell coming in before Christmas.

I've been pulling what's left of my hair out on my entrance hallway. Put a new wood floor in there to replace the warped one, and the installer "I''ve been installing floors and carpets for 40 years"... decided to not replace the underlayment "did you want me to tear your house apart?" sigh...., yes, actually I did, because now the floor sits too low and I have to bring the door casing moldings down to meet it. I just refuse to rip it out again.
So, my new good old boy carpenters who I am thrilled with looked at the situation for a while, and then cut out the bottom of the casing, inserted a hand built pedestal looking thing in there, with some nice custom beveling, and now the molding ends are almost entirely hidden and the whole thing looks wonderful. What a difference in skill levels between the handyman/rug guy and some true finish carpenters. However, I now have to stain all those little blocks and that I will do slowly and carefully, using a whole lot of blue tape to protect things. Bought the contractor pack of that stuff; will use the good 3m tape on the closest piece and the cheap Ace stuff on the outer tape. Good way to use up the look alike but doesn't work alike tape.
Just wish it wasn't down so low; frankly hard for me to bend. But if I wait for the painter to come back it will be Easter; all those guys are going crazy trying to get things done for the holidays. Particularly the painter apparently. Must be a lot of Last Minute Louises out there.
I also might start painting the shelving in the bedroom closet that is now mostly done.

I am very pleased with the way the bathroom is coming out. It looks a lot "fancier" than I thought it would, and I am a very no bling person. But they say put the money in the bathrooms and kitchens, and yeah, I'm doing that, plus it seems most other places too....
The bathroom was one huge room before with two walk in closets on opposite ends, one that you had to walk past the toilet to get to. Nutty design.
So the whole thing was gutted and made "conventional", with a bathroom on one side and a closet on the other.
I've now been here almost four months and I'm still not in there. Soon, relatively.

I don't think anyone is coming back until Monday and I can enjoy some peace and quiet. The local Kubota dealer brought my tractor back after a full service and they even spotlessly cleaned the FEL for me. You know, all that black grease that gets everywhere? My PA dealer wouldn't do it, cited environmental restrictions. Well, these guys didn't seem to have a problem with that, and boy was it nice to get the tractor back degunked.
I keep the rest pretty clean but that was, as it is I think for many of us, not a high priority cleaning area. Particularly if you keep things well greased. Now some cleaner wax for that faded Kubota orange paint.

29 heading to 46 and sunny, which may be our nicest day for the next few.

Larro, I'm also a John Prine fan - one of my first concerts was seeing him open for Poco in a movie theatre when I was in high school.

RS, come back, I'm going through withdrawal not seeing pictures of the Eiffel Tower getting built.
And no, I'm not going into UnFriendly Politics to find you.
Billie, we've got the nice weather, time to do something outside.

Good morning, 27F heading to 34F. A little slippery on the way to work this morning but roads should be good once the sun comes out.

Coffee has been poured. 47° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 63° with lots of sun. Should be a good day to sit on the patio today. 60's may seem like a low temperature to sit on patio. But the sun sure warms you up.
Good Morning All.

63 degrees. Hmmm, I think Ron is starting to brag...all warm and comfy down there while our friends up North slip slide away. Be careful driving guys, no job is worth getting hurt. Well, other than EMS. And they are the guys you don't want to meet.

Ron must have flowers blooming there too. Sigh. And TxDon will be staying warm too. And even FarmGirl.
Maybe she'll come back and say hi for Christmas in a nice elf costume. Driving a tractor of course.

Drew, the house is coming along nicely. The walk-in closet looks very useful.

The door trim pedestals look good. I think, if you care, the challenge will be blending them in color-wise with the other trim while staining. They should come out pretty close though, or go with a darker complementary color stain on those and let them stand out?

26F, still mostly cloudy but looks like it will clear. Should warm to 32F today.

I'm going into town today to find a couple small manly tool type gifts for my boys.

Be safe.

30 this morning and headed to 40 today. No rain in forecast till middle of week. Looks like a brown (no snow) Christmas for us right now. Which soots me fine my wife being in the school system gets more excited about snow than I do. It just makes more work for me. As larger snows I plow out to the state highway. 2.5 miles one way.

Back into the chicken coop today. Going to try and be done by Christmas.

Sadomo was told yesterday that propane around here had come down about 30 cents since October.

Drew nice pictures. Your guys are doing good work again.

Drew the green Frog tape has worked better for me than even the good blue tape. I like to place some tape down then tape a piece of plastic down big enough for my painting supplies to set on at each location.
