They are a compression fitting. They are used for water and gas. Gas have a yellow o'ring and water a black
one. You can use gas ones for water but not vice versa. Gas ones are twice the price too. He used a electric crimper with changeable jaws to crimp the joints. Apparently the O'rings will outlast the copper pipe. Hope he is right.

And the Milwaukee makes a M12 tool to compress them and it only costs about $2K. Another excuse to invest in tools!!

Drinking first cup of coffee. 50° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 81 with lots of sunshine. Good day visiting Alpaca Ranch and neighbors yesterday. Small tractor show in town today. Then mow grass before taking my aunt home.

Buckeye, sound like a good concerts.

Alien, lots of expensive gittings.

Thomas, hang onto your wallet. It is not going to get cheaper.

David, good caretaker project is moving forward.

Roy, I have a Jabsco Porta Quick Oil Changer that works good for pumping oil out of a crankcase if the Amazon one fails. On many boats that is only way to get oil out of engine for a oil change.

Popgadget, a fellow TBN member wrote the training stuff for simulators. Jinam. RIP. While visiting him I missed a chance to spend a day with him at his job.

Prayers and best wishes for everyone.

Good Morning All.

good morning all
lovely cool morning out, 60 going up to 80 today in full sun. Nice weather for next three days, then another system comes through.

My friend who just had his hip replaced asked for a ride to church this morning, so I'm going a little early to pick him up. I think he's restricted
for six weeks no driving. Then if I have the energy, hope to go check out this local old equipment show.
I've been going a long time, took this pic of my niece at this show almost 30 years ago.
Ken, did you go? Not far from your home.
I wish I would have known of this last week as I would have gone Friday. A sunny Sunday around here brings out city tourists by the thousands and they clog up the local roads.

I seen some areas where it’s higher than one percent by a good bit, but not the reverse of that. It would be hard to swallow that 99% of hospitalizations were vaccinated, anywhere.
I think the key word is "Hospitalizations". There are a LOT of breakthrough cases and I have heard of 2 deaths of vaccinated people. Most of the people around here are older and vaccinated so most of the new cases would come from breakthrough cases. ( I don't have the figures on the hospitalizations and since our population is older this town's hospital may have an higher than average number of vaccinated in the hospital) All micro areas (especially elderly majority areas) are different but I don't doubt that most of the hospitalizations in Texas are from unvaccinated are partially vaccinated. There are 2 million Texans that thought that 1 vaccine of a 2 vaccine dose was enough but the "D" variant is treating those people like they have no vaccination at all.

Good Morning.
Looks like another sunny day in the 90’s here in Wichita.

Of course it won’t matter to me, I’ll be in a box all day getting a workout. Yesterday was a fun day with lots of failures, engines quitting while on the ground on takeoff at a point where it’s best to continue the take off, fires, hydraulic, brake failures, etc. It certainly gives you the impression that this thing isn’t very reliable.

Did go out to dinner last night in the old city, nice dinner with live music outdoors. today it’s back in the box just every day until we finish on Friday.

Here’s where the dungeon master hangs out-

47° outside right now...feels it too, since I just spent 30-40 minutes outside (on the back deck) with Margeaux. I was sitting, smoking and drinking coffee. She was doing puppy stuff. I was a bit chilled, just wearing sweats and a pajama top. Margeaux, being a mix with Great Pyrenes in her, was happy as all get out!
Got to finish mowing the grass today and change the water filter...that's about all

Good Morning!!!! 60F @ 5:15AM. A mix of clouds and sun. High 79F. Winds WSW at 5 to 10 mph.
Picked up all of 0.17" of gentle rain starting at about 4:30 yesterday afternoon. Nothing more since midnight. This morning's AQI is in the single digits, cleaner than I've seen it in months. Tomorrow around dinner time we'll start another PSPS blackout, rumored to last through Tuesday. Same old story of low humidity, high temperatures, and a big north wind.

I'm about half way through the latest MedCram video which covers many questions related to CoVid-19. It's a two hour discussion, and so far I've seen statistics that claim more than 90% of new cases nationwide are in people that have not been vaccinated. That site has many other CV19 videos as well, and from what I've seen so far, seems fairly free of any particular bias. They also touch on the data gathering, and claim that it is inconsistent and incomplete, which is driving the confusion a lot of people have regarding getting vaccinated.

Three weeks of classes is a looooooooooong time, Paul. But then switching airplanes is a little more complicated than going from an automatic to a stick shift...

I think I'd have a hard time being sold on solderless fittings, Doug, but no doubt that they save time. I'd also figure out some kind of bushing to ensure no rattles or wear where the pipes penetrate those steel 2x4s, but then I'm just an over cautious engineer, and what do I know?

Got the trench filled yesterday with a couple FEL buckets of sand to spare. Still have some grading and cleanup to do, and need to connect the wires for the level sensor in the top tank to the pump controller, but that's a two minute job. While I was working around the upper tank yesterday I noticed water leaking out of the fill fitting at the top, so the tank is more than full. Icing on the cake for that project. The rain started spitting just as I finished, and by the time I got the tractor and side-by-side hosed off, I was getting wetter from the rain than the vehicles were from the hose. Felt good.

Went inside and changed clothes, went out to the back porch and sat listening to the rain on the metal roof while I enjoyed a cold beer or two. Been a long time since I've heard that noise. No rain in the 10-day, and we're right back up into the 90s starting Monday.

Hope everyone enjoys the second half of their weekend!
