83 with poor air quality, small particulates and low level ozone. I decided to put off mowing until tomorrow even though it needs it now, hoping air will be better, I also have a doctor’s appointment early afternoon. I think I’ll just get the garbage out,move club trailer and cruise today.

BFF, my flag is about like yours, I’ve had new American made one for two months and haven’t gotten around to hanging it.

Found out why my internet is flaky-seems cable from box to house has big signal drop.
Comcast is replacing at no cost to me. 100' and driveway cuts.

yeah it's sure not new Randy but most of us struggle with eating properly and since I don't have Don's willpower,
I just have to keep choosing healthy over unhealthy as much of the time as possible.
That article again connected colorectal cancer with red meat diet.
I am convinced that's what did in my wife.

going to rain this afternoon but not too hot out now and thought I might go wash the car, it's been weeks.
I suppose I should wear a mask...when I look up at what should be bright blue sky and all I see is light grey, well
that's a lot of ash flying around. Yeah, think I'll wear a mask.

Is it a wive's tale or do rains "wash" the air and make it cleaner long term?
Of course then all the ash winds up on the ground.

I wonder what grows better with ash on it...or worse.

Well - potential big changes in our life. Wife decided she wants to “retire” and sell her interest in the tennis business.

It’ll probably happen by the end of August.

Then we will both be fully retired.

It’ll be an interesting transition given she has been at this type of stuff 15 years - the last 6 with me helping out and getting in the way.

66°F and partly cloudy this morning with a hazy sunrise, going up to 90° today. Looks like we're back in the 90s every day for the rest of this month.

Got a piece of music equipment packed up Monday night, and dropped it off at a UPS Store on the way home from work yesterday. The cost to ship a 2.3 lb box to a guy in New York was $102.53. Ouch. It's a piece of electronic equipment - a hard to find bass preamp from the long defunct Pearce Electronics - that defined my bass sound for almost 20 years. It was in a basement flood just before I got married, and has been sitting ever since. It's demise is why I bought the Helix digital modeling processor, as it contains a model of that preamp. I decided I want to get it working again, and had a tech recommended to me by the famous bass player who the original preamp was designed for. The tech is the guy who originally designed the PC boards. I sent him an email with pictures, and he seemed to think it was quite repairable. I'm just hoping it's not going to cost me a kidney or something. That shipping though ... wow.

surprise greeting at door this morning

installed my LED strobe blinkers designed for bicyclist on back of new mower
so hopefully won't get run into when mowing right along the road. Pretty bright when on strobe.

washed the car, good exercise, now inside for afternoon in a/c and clean air. Happy to have MERV 13 filters all throughout
my hvac system.

Something of a fractured day ahead. Sophie has a 30 day follow up with Ophthalmologist. A bit later appointment than usual. Will run a couple errands as well.

Hoping to get back and tape and mud my inside corners.

Makani turns 1 today. My little boy not so little but still not full grown

I was looking for some pictures (photos) on my computer that my wife wanted to send to her daughter. Pics were from 2007-2008.
Anyway, during the search, I saw several pics of Makani when he was a little feller....so cute!!

Pics my wife wanted were of her daughter's ex-husband, sitting on a Deere 790, with an AK47 type rifle in each hand. I don't recall the circumstances or why we took the pictures...but there were 5 or 6 of 'em!!
