Well, due to a "RTFI" failure on my part, I'll be working from home the next couple days.
Per my post hospital instructions, I wasn't supposed to work this week

As you might imagine, "RTFI" is the acronym for "Read The Freaking Instructions"

Sister to RTFM…
Take care and get better

68°F and .9 inches rain.

Something of a fractured day ahead. Sophie has a 30 day follow up with Ophthalmologist. A bit later appointment than usual. Will run a couple errands as well.

Hoping to get back and tape and mud my inside corners.

Makani turns 1 today. My little boy not so little but still not full grown

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day
Happy Birthday to Makani! Time flies.

Good afternoon! Cedarciding this morning. pics are 1- 1/3 done, pic 2 2rows of brush cut, pic 3 finished.

We had a good group and I cut two wind rows of brush from under the live oak tree. I had 5 haulers so I could keep cutting and ran the chainsaw for 3 hours/2 tanks of gas.
The temp stayed in the low 80's but still plenty of hydration needed. We are under a bad air alert also but not for smoke but from Saharan dust.
(The second pic is not dust just fog from moist pocket.)
That's some very impressive work, especially considering the heat.

First cup of coffee has been poured. 52° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 78° with mostly sunny skies. Got grass mowed and back field cut yesterday. Today I will be cleaning house and later get hedge trimmer out and cut back shrubs and trees. Sure is nice to have cooler weather.
Deer keeping an eye on us.

Mostly, most likely to be mother or father. Fish in picture is about 7". Babies are usually dark brown and do not turn gold until they are about 1 year old.

Don, good job on the trail.

WELCOME to GOOD MORNING Thread psvfd.

Drew, good idea on the flashing lights. Remember to turn them on and off.

Roy, enjoy your week of working from home.

David, give Makani my belated birthday wishes.

Thomas, sending some dry weather your way.

RNG, firefighter picture is fantastic.

Everyone stay healthy and safe.

Good Morning All.

Well - potential big changes in our life. Wife decided she wants to “retire” and sell her interest in the tennis business.

It’ll probably happen by the end of August.

Then we will both be fully retired.

It’ll be an interesting transition given she has been at this type of stuff 15 years - the last 6 with me helping out and getting in the way.

Wish us luck!

MoKelly
Congratulations. :D:cool: I am sure some of us can help with suggestion on how to enjoy a couples retirement.

53° right now...high in the mid-70's today. Good day to mow the lawn, which I'll do this afternoon. After all the rain, and me being down for over a week, it sure needs it! Need to string trim too. I hope I have the stamina for that...

As I'd written, I'll be working from home today and tomorrow. No complaints from work...I guess my return after a week in the hospital surprised everybody (who, I guess, expected me to be out a lot longer considering the circumstances). Heck, I'm just glad I was released as early as I was!!
I notice I'm getting itchy on my butt and lower belly....feels like psoriasis. I'll check with my doctor next week, but I'd guess it's a side effect of the meds I'm on. This just started a day or two back...

same nice forecast here, a little cooler, high in mid 80s today.
Sky looks much bluer this morning, air quality improved to 78

Plumber comes at 8am to install my water filter, hope it works and I don't need to spend a lot more
on a water softener. Then my brother and I go out to lunch today in his "beast" as he calls it and I give him a box
with three nice cigars in it. Cohiba, MonteCristo and one other, owner of store very helpful in picking out a few, said I knew more
than I thought, which I get mostly from reading. Oh, the last one was a brand name, soaked in bourbon. I hope he likes them.
I bet Thomas would...

had to chase that fawn out of back yard last night, was in close chewing on my hanging plants.
It doesn't like me squirting water at it and runs away to woods. I wish I still had my bb gun...

local municipality just completed a deer survey and the numbers just keep growing. Just ridiculous but not the only place
for sure with too many deer. In 2019 the survey showed 189 deer per square mile here, seven times higher than what the land will sustain.

Buppies, does this issue of coal tar impact your jobs? (I know you don't do driveway sealing...)

Solebury sounds warning on coal tar-based driveway sealants

Homeowners associations in the Township will soon be receiving a letter from the Environmental Advisory Council, outlining the dangers posed by driveway sealants that are made from coal tar. The Board of Supervisors signed off on the letter April 20.

Pavement sealants — the black, shiny substance sprayed or painted over asphalt — are manufactured from a variety of materials, many of which cause little harm to the environment. The exception is sealants made from coal tar, which can introduce dangerous chemicals into the water supply.

Coal-based sealant is a source of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) that are toxic to aquatic life and can potentially affect human development. Coal tar-based sealants are banned in several states and many counties, but efforts to ban them in Pennsylvania have so far failed.
