Good morning!!!!

60 was the low, 77 later.
Today is spray the areas that are getting stone and put the fabric down. Probably use just enough stone to keep it in place along with the staples until we get the bricks in. I’ve got two areas to do then mow grass.

Buppies we have a fellow here with an XJ-6 that’s no longer a 6. He’s got a supercharged LS engine from a CTSv., 650 hp. Very cool and looks completely stock inside and out. I’ll get some pics at the next cruise in.

Gotta get busy. Have a good one guys.

Good morning! 74˚F heading to only the mid 80's with heavy cloud cover and the chance of rain increasing this afternoon to 80%.

Whipper and Gray2 will soon be legal with their current vaccinations after we mail the receipts to the county for their license (no fees for over 65). We were a little worried on the way home, Gray2 was sleeping in his carrier. My wife took him out and let him sit in her lap but he just wanted to go back into the carrier. He usually is very vocal while traveling. But he seems back to his normal "old man" self this morning at 14 years old.

I'm kind of missing a project to do until I go outside and the air hits me like a heater, I can wait a few months.

Randy, and next week Roy, let me know the run time and the cutting abilities of your new 4" chain saws.

Sadamo, the smallest battery Ryobi at our Home Depot is too big at 10" - a two handed chainsaw. Too bad because I already have one tool and would have had an extra battery.

Good morning.
It’s 60 with a forecast high of 68 and rain and thunderstorms.
It’s not raining now, but looks gloomy. We’ve gotten 1.32 inches of rain since it started on Wednesday night. The cylinder rain gauge continues to validate the Davis, the Tempest almost always reports about 50% more rain.

Yesterday started with breakfast with son and grandson. Then made slow but steady progress in the shop.
Band rehearsal was a bit frustrating on the technical side. When we perform for an audience, we use in ear monitoring, but not for rehearsals. Considering we haven’t played for an audience since before COVID, I thought it would be good to set up and test the monitor system and get a rough monitor mix set. That was where the the frustrations were. I think that most musicians are Luddites at heart, so I was expected to solve every one’s issues. Eventually all the wrinkles were ironed out, and we got to actually rehearse. As aggravating as it was, I’m glad that it wasn’t on a stage somewhere.

Today will be another leisurely day in the shop, some progress is better than none. I’ve got to go out and get some steaks for dinner tonight, wife is getting the fish for another surf and turf dinner tonight, this one is for youngest son’s fiancé’s birthday.
Glad that I got the mowing done Wednesday before it started raining, I’d be making hay by the time it dries up out there to mow.

good morning all, damp cool morning, big switch from last few days, high today only in 70's with more rain coming in most of day.
Thankfully clearing out for tomorrow and the fields will all be wet so fireworks enthusiasts won't set the fields on fire.

taking a pail of fresh picked beets down to brother this morning, will have coffee and then plan on doing little today in the rain.
Actually need to pick up a couple bottles of wine at State store but it will be madhouse in their today.

picked up a couple of small US lawn flags and will put them out today; got the main flag hung but a 3x5 flag looks pretty big for this tiny house.
I was really surprised to see that Annin could make a flag set, granted their cheaper one, with pole and holder, made in US, for 20 bucks. I've always bought
their better flags before and they would last three or four years in the sunshine. Never liked to see our flag get frayed...

I get about 22 months on a flag according to my Amazon history, and am due by December. The price is now $30, up from $23 for the last 2.

Got a text from a guy at work...that handheld chainsaw I'd ordered was delivered at the plant yesterday. It was supposed to be delivered 07 July. Way too wet to use it today, but I would like to have charged the batteries and given it a looksee. Oh well...it's locked in a secure area in the shipping dept.
At least they knew who it was for. We get emails all the time at work, asking who ordered stuff that comes in without a name on the order.

Sunny in TN, WU says 68° going to 84.
Was interesting visiting East TN yesterday, including the oldest town in TN where the tractors were. They were having a parade last night.
But learned that Davey Crocket was born in the valley next to a creek, and not on a mountain top. Walt Disney lied to us. This is a replica of the type of cabin he was born in.

They know from his writings this was the location.
All the rivers in the area were high from the rain the night before.

Skipped staying a night in gatlinburg when I saw the hotel rates, and went straight to our sons place. Will spend a few days exploring middle TN. If we had stayed in gatlinburg, was going to drive the tail of the dragon today. Will do another time, good lord willing.

Went down thru another town planning something, people parked everywhere along the roads. Nice overlook along a lake.

Ellen is trying it out today at her dad’s place, I’ll give the report.

Great pictures, love east TN, Western NC.

We stayed in Gatlinburg three years ago because it was way cheaper than Sevierville or Pigeon Forge.
We did the Tail of The Dragon, I thought it was great but Ellen held on to the oh sh:t handle the whole way down.

63°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 81° today. No rain in the forecast until next Saturday now.

Left work early yesterday. Started to go out to get lunch at noon, and noted that my car and the design engineer's car were the only vehicles left in the front parking lot. Everyone else from the office had already gone. So, we shut everything down and left as well. This is a common occurrence, as the ladies upstairs rarely tell us when the office is closing early before a holiday. So it goes.

A tech from ADT came by about 2:30pm to upgrade our alarm system. Took him all of about 10 minutes at the keypad. Got in a short-ish nap after that. Wife picked up pizza for dinner, then we went out and picked a couple quarts of blueberries from our sole surviving bush, which are delicious this year.

Wife is off with her youngest son to help her brother move today. He's finally moving out of the place he's been living with the girlfriend he's been fighting with for the last five years. He doesn't have much to move in the way of furniture, but that man has enough clothes to supply a small village.

I made some pancakes for breakfast, and have been waiting for the dew to evaporate so I can commence with the mowing. Going to have to get everything this week after all that rain, so looking at about six hours of mowing tranquility. Trimming will probably wait until tomorrow.

I really like that vise, Paul. Nice machine.

Thanks for sharing all the great pictures, BEF. Tennessee is indeed a beautiful state.

Good morning! Sunny sunny sunny and high of 84F today.

Wife returns from Little Rock this afternoon. My only required task is to get more bird seed for the feeders. Don’t tell her but I kind of let the feeders run out while she was gone. But, fill them today and all is well.

I’m thinking a little BBQ is in order for dinner to celebrate. Eat outside on the porch. Maybe an adult beverage or two.

Tomorrow is my youngest birthday. He is a July 4 baby. But now 23 years older. Where does the time go?

Kitty does not appreciate the evening fireworks. He hides under the bed. Poor thing.

Have a great 4th all!
