Good morning!!!!

Went to a graduate's party, ate too much BBQ, came home and crashed on the couch for 3 hours....

Got my endoscope from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MYTHWK4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It seems handy. It came with a USB adapter plug to charge it. I charged it about an hour, and it only lasted about an hour out in the barn. Hope it will last longer with better charge overnight. (They say up to 3 hours, but they don't say if that's with the LED's on full, or off). I used it to look down CRumpelt Steelskin's HVAC plenum, to check blend door operation. It is harder to snake it through there than I figured it would be. I mainly wanted to see the cold/hot blend doors, and that they are opening/sealing properly. It seemed ok. I have noticed it not cooling great on hot days, and one side vents were warmer than the other side's. Still possibly a recirculate/Max blend door not sealing properly....
I put my A/C gages on it, with temp at about 75F, Low was only 12, Hi was 140 psi, at idle. I decided to put a can of freon in it. ($4.88 @ Walmart). Pressures came up to Low side 26, High side 170. I asked the wifey if she wanted to go for a ride, she said "yes", I told her to bring a sweater because I was checking A/C system. It got down to temps near 20F at the vent with my Fluke IR gun. She was chilled out. :) The real test will be when it's 105F, and the car has been parked in the sun all day....How long will it take to cool it off then? Last week at 90F, it took about 20 minutes or more, and never really got real cold. I hope I have it fixed. I put the freon with the dye in it, so if it leaks down, I can use my UV flashlight to look for leaks. The little Malibu is a joy to drive. It has a bit of a "whirring" noise coming from the rear, which gets louder, the faster you go. Had my son pull down the rear seat and stick his head in the trunk. He says noise is coming from driver's side. That's the oddball, like new General tire, that is slightly bigger and different than the other 3 tires. That is why I'm leaving on the rear. So I have to figure out if it's the tire, or possibly a wheel hub bearing.

I may have located a donor car that is silver, at a junkyard about 70 miles from me, but about 30 minutes NE of Don. (Nice potatoes by the way Don....onions too). I want a hood, trunk, and possibly other items too.

The '03 Impala has been having a bit of tranny problems. It would seem to slip, only when turning hard left, and it a couple days ago, it slipped when taking off a bit abruptly after a fast stop. I searched online, others have had the problem, but no one actually came back online and said "This ______ fixed it". It doesn't leak tranny fluid, but I checked it anyway, while hot, idling, in park, on flat ground....It was low. I put a liter in it, and it still isn't filling in the tiny drilled holes in the dipstick, so I will go to Walmart tomorrow and get some more Dex III rated oil. Probably needs another pint or 2. I put a can of freon in it a few days ago, and it blows cold too! Hopefully the full oil tranny will work as it should.

My left elbow is still giving me problems after my wreck on May 14. Also, my neck's lower frontal muscles are sore still. I still am slightly sore from the waist up, every morning, but most of it is getting better.

Prayers for our team, especially those with special needs, and our country.

First cup of coffee taste good. 60° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 88° with a few afternoon clouds. Tractor show was good. Not to many people or tractors. Took advantage of that to be able to talk to owners. Still not a lot of people venturing out for entertainment. It was hot. But a cool breeze kept us comfortable. Stopped on out way home to move some trusses at a friends home. Good day overall. Going to trim trees along fence line today. Then in house for some NASCAR.

good morning all
going to be a hot one today, up to 94 in sun, fine weather for church picnic.
I'm picking up an old friend to take with me, her mother brought my mother into this church in 1955 so
we go way back. Definitely a shorts and golf shirt day

friend said he would fully service his older JD garden tractor for me and bring it over next week as a loaner until my new one came in. The landscape guys cut the lawn higher
than I would like and I have a field of white clover out there attracting a lot of bees. When I finally mow it I'll go a half inch lower and see how that looks. As long as we keep getting plenty of rain, I don't mind mowing a little shorter, particularly since I've walked the whole lawn and know where the roots and rocks are, and thankfully not much of either.

Please tell her she has a big team rooting for her.

Roy, hope you are feeling much better this morning.

just saw 2 groundhogs by the pool, so now I know what is eating the flowers!

Turtle soup, have not had that in a while. We had some baby snappers by the pool last year, cute as babies, not so cute as adults.
Now need to figure out how to mark this area of turtle eggs so they are protected.

Picnic muffins ! will be a happy crowd.
Just found a turtle nest dug up, probably by a fox, yesterday on my poison ivy hunt. Hope yours survive.

Good Morning
It’s 74 going to 93 with clear skies today, a slightly hotter repeat of yesterday.

Yesterday was a busy, but fun day. Got tents, tables and chairs set up for grandson’s birthday party, got the pork out of the smoker and shredded

A good time was had by all.

I don’t think that I will do much today other than mow. I’ll get an early start on the Lazer, and then can do the open areas later when it gets into the 90’s from the comfort of the air conditioned cab.

69 going to 93 and sunny.

Special prayers today for the heroes of D-Day, 77 years ago...thank you for our freedom.

Kyle, sorry to hear you are still hurting from the wreck. Hope you get better soon and things get worked out with the insurance company and the Crumpel.

BEF, remind me not to be your guest at a picnic. 😁 The pig looks great.

Don, the potato man!

David, take good care of Soph! Hope the surgery goes well.

Took my backpack sprayer on a poison ivy and bindweed hunt yesterday. I was pleased with the progress I've been making over the years to eliminate so much of it. Did find some remnants and went after a new patch that is hard to get at. The bindweed is a new invasive that has really taken off the last couple of years...hard to eliminate. I woke up this morning with an itch on my ankle...chigger. Even though I have had many chiggers, especially back when I was a surveyor in summers, I've never gotten one here on this property, only ticks.

The Carolina wrens have been busy feeding their second brood this year in the same nest over our front door. It is our great joy to watch them hunt, dive bomb chipmunks, and listen to their songs and chatter. Watching baby wrens learn to fly is a hoot. We provide food, and have run off black snakes in past years. Well, yesterday my wife noticed the nest was on the porch floor, and I went to fix it and found TWO blacksnakes and no baby birds. Just can't figure how a snake got up there. We had even moved some decorations so the snakes couldn't get a "toehold."

Good morning, we have a bank of light cloud for a change today, makes a nice change to not have to hide under the wide brim of a Tilley hat.

I like it striped like it is. 😁
😁 😁 😁

You wouldn't believe how long it took to find a can of Zebra paint.

made a trail to the large healthy tulip poplar that is covered in vines

Ken, Tulip poplar is not grown here but is available from some timber merchants. It is sold as one of the better quality softwoods for small joinery work, having a straight grain that does not tend to split and easy to buy in lengths that are free of knots. Have you made anything from what grows on your land ?

Good luck for Monday Sophie.

Kyle, Crumpelt Steelskin sounds a great car with plenty of character. Seems a shame to replace the roof, how about just fitting a low profile roof rack and drive around with a couple of surfboards permanently on top ? :giggle:

   / Good morning!!!! #134,050
Eric, I like that surfboard idea! Maybe some longboards for additional shade? Maybe dualing kayaks like PJS and wifey.......Wish I'd learned to surf in my early years. We spent our spare time water skiing instead.
