61°F and light drizzle this morning, going up to 72° today. The expected rain seems to be missing us to the south, but the potential remains for some boomers this afternoon.

Nice progress, David. Doesn't look like a container anymore.

You guys need to go easier on those shoulders and knees. You know we don't heal like we used to.

You have to love it, WVA is offering 5 new F-150's along with guns and ammo
as prizes for getting vaccinated. College scholarships, quite a list.
They should offer dogs and puppies...:)

Paul, I think you will be very happy with the EA grapple. I had a solid bottom WRLong and wished
I had bought the EA. Drove across NC and picked up a rear blade and rake from them and skipped all the shipping.
Had previously bought an EA plow from them and received something by truck
that was a rusty paint chipped mess. All from being chucked around moving through the food chain, but
my dismay at getting what looked like a well used plow was then sympathetically
evaluated by some New England fellow here in another thread who called me a yuppie who probably drove a BMW.
That was surely good for a laugh.

EA's fit and finish has come a long way. But there is a feeling by many that
it's ok to deliver implements all scraped up and rusty. I'm just not one of them. I figure if I paid for a new tool it should
be me putting the scratches and dings on it, as each one tells a story.

very happy to report that PT this morning was not torturous, first heat, then exercises,
testing range of motions, then some massage which hurt in spots and then lastly ice packs.
Sent home with instructions for more to do here. I still can't lift my arm at all but with her picking it up at least we know where it can go.
Never had PT before, guess I should consider myself lucky. Not any more.
Particularly with my right shoulder starting to hurt now from overuse on that side.
Of course here I am digging rose bush holes with a planting shovel using that one arm...

Does anybody have any experience with Country Clippers and Kawasaki motors?
No idea about Country Clipper, but we have Kawasaki motors in both our Husqvarna rider (23hp) and Husqvarna zero turn (18hp) mowers. They are good engines.

I've been to the facility just outside Maryville MO where they make those Kawasaki motors. The company I work for has made stacking racks for them. It's an impressive place, and one of the cleanest factories I've ever been in. One could eat off the floors there. I wouldn't, but one could. 😲

I continued my grapple research and placed and order for am EA “Wicked Root Rake Grapple”.

Im picking up 50lbs of pork for Friday nights smoke today, I’ll get it trimmed and rubbed, so I can get the smoker started up Friday night.

Oh , it is so wicked.

And smoked pork is wicked good also.

I just told Travis at EA to get you a good place in line for the wait.

Baby rabbits everywhere
Simply the coolest thing possible to have Ken, as long as your garden is well fenced.
Mine wasn't in NC, a few holes were chewed through, and lo and behold when I moved some
straw out shot six little baby rabbits in all different directions. They did not follow each other,
programmed perhaps to scatter in emergency. I then had to shoo them out a hole in the fence and for
sure fixed the fence. That happened twice, provided soft fluffy berthing accommodations to I think
an even dozen little bunnies. There were little bunnies running all around under the tomatoes and peppers
and I quickly learned the hose on gentle stream was a good form of prod and direction maker.
They used to frolic in my front lawn. I was glad to have them, they never ate my flowers. Smart rabbits.

62F and fairly light rain @ 11:30, headed up to a high of 69F with 0.44" of rain forecast for the day. No measurable accumulation so far, but rain showers forecast for the remainder of the day.

So basically an inside day except for maybe sneaking out in between the drops to get friend's spreader loaded in the van and maybe a quick trip down to Eddie's for mealworms. Also refill hopper feeder.

Likely do some filter maintenance and paperwork/computer stuff.

Hope everyone has a great day ... (y)

RS- so the chapin is all together and working now with the new parts?

All together as far as I can tell but I need to check it over against the instructions as there are two extra bolts. No obvious place that I can see that they would go ... but need to verify that against the assembly instructions.

As far as it working, I haven't used it yet so I can't really say for sure ... but in theory it should.

Like the design on the gate opening and it's shutter - the gate is kinda pie-shaped (narrower at one end, wider at the other) ... so it can accommodate a range of particle sizes.

The hopper is decidedly smaller than the spreader I borrowed from my friend.

Does fried squirrel taste good?

Haven't a clue ... never had it.

Wouldn't mind giving it a try though ... just not with this method of "frying" and this particular one ... ;)

Glad you didn't get stung ... (y)

We look to be having a good rabbit crop here this year as well.

My dad was artillery also, he talks of a guy from Canada that was with him.

My dad was originally in artillery, trained on 105’s, then got transferred to Quartermasters. He made 21 landings in 3 days starting early morning June 6, 1944, on Omaha Beach. One LCM was sunk and the survivors hitched a ride on a troop LCM headed back out. They went day and night pre positioning supplies on the beach and carrying wound back to the ship.
I cannot imagine.
