25F and cloudy @ 08:00, headed up to a high of 30F for the day with peeks of sunshine later. As Rich says we are headed into the deep freeze this next week. Fortunately no subzero temps predicted ... at least so far.

Probably only got a total of 4" - 5" snow since the ground got dusted a few days ago. With all the wind last night it looks like a good bit of has blown off the vehicles.

Filled up hopper, two sunflower tube, ear of corn, and squirrel feeders yesterday. Also two suet feeders plus cleaned out and refilled birdbath. Have two more suet feeders to do soon, possibly today. Opened the last bag of black oil sunflower seeds yesterday, and poured it into the 32 gallon trash can pretty much filling it up. Getting low on whole and cracked corn, and safflower seeds ... so possibility of Menards trip somewhere on the near-term horizon.

Up around 05:30 this morning, had a couple of slices of Thomas' Cinnamon Raisin Swirl toast with butter, still working on first cup of coffee.

Woman received an email from Summit County Health Department on Monday stating that they would have a online signup starting at noon on Tuesday for an appointment for limited number of vaccine doses to be administered on Thursday. Got the web app to load less than a minute after noon Tuesday (it was disabled until then) got form filled out, navigating several screens in the process, and hit the "Save" button by 12:04 ... at which point I got a spinning arrow saying "Saving". At this point have to assume that she wasn't able to secure an appointment, since we haven't received a follow-up email.

Check - sincerest condolences.

Buppies - sorry for heating issues, hope it gets straightened out quickly.

Drew - great report, keep them coming ...

Ron - thanks for pics.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe Wednesday.

Good point, Bill. 4 pulleys I believe and while I checked the spindles I didn’t check the pulleys,

Had to replace one of the pulleys on my RFM a few years ago that wore out, sealed with no grease zerk

Good morning! 42˚F heading to 72 ˚F sunny skies.

Heading to the Park with rake and chainsaw. The little trail spur we are working on was run over with the same machine that broke Ricks tractor door. With the large rock around here it left the ground rough.

Buppies, at least it was not a serious problem that could take weeks to repair like Ron's. It is frustrating to know it was something so simple. Like finding out you have run out of gasoline instead of having to replace a motor.

Tomorrow we hit the 80s ˚F. Pool day?

Mother and brother received their 2nd shot yesterday, I'll have to call them and see how they feel. I still have another 15 days for my second.

Good Morning
27 with a high of 34 forecast. Snow showers until lunchtime. Windy all day.

Yesterday was consumed with snow removal. On my side of the road, there is only two farms in about a mile, but across the street there’s probably about a dozen houses on 2 acre lots. Many of those were ill equipped to deal with the amount of snow that we got, so when I saw them struggling, I plowed them out as well. Thankfully some did have snowblowers though.

Buppies-glad that it’s a simple fix. I think that with propane heat, an empty tank is the number one failure mode, followed by igniter and flame sensor, then draft inducer.

Today should be more like the old routine, head over to the shop, work on the speaker, do some clean up and wait for someone to call for help with whatever isn’t working.

Still no word on vaccination.

23°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 45° today.

Bummer about your propane situation, Buppies. When my Wife's grandmother was still alive, she had a major fear of running out. She would ask someone at least once and sometimes twice a week to go out and check the tank. I still tease my Wife about that ... although, with her ongoing hot flashes, there's not much chance we'll have that issue. Our supplier has been pretty good about keeping us supplied.

Mid-80s is pretty good riding weather, Jim. I wouldn't hate that right now.

Thanks, RNG. Curtain rod = the idea so obvious we looked right past it.

Good Morning!!!! 42F @ 5:45AM. Partly cloudy skies during the morning giving way to a few showers late. High 52F. Winds SE at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 30%.
Picked up another half inch of rain yesterday, only a sprinkle for this afternoon, then warm and dry through the weekend into next week.

No joy with freeing the stuck valve, so just shut the water off to the house and changed the flush valve in the toilet. Also had to change the seal in the fill line, but there was a replacement in the kit. Seems to be working fine, but I left the plastic bin under the hose last night just in case, and will check it this morning to make sure it's still dry.

Talked to a forester yesterday who will visit tomorrow and put together an estimate for cleaning up the dead trees and a plan on what, if anything, to replant. Should be interesting.

The sun came out late afternoon so I put a box of shells through the new shotgun. The trap loads were fun to shoot, but it's still a bruiser with 3" 00 buck loads. There's also a lot of drop in the stock, so a neoprene sock with some foam padding underneath to build up the comb may be the answer. Doesn't look too complicated to make, and I have both "in stock". Installed a light on it, and today I'll tackle adding some tritium night sights. Then more shooting, this time with some 2 3/4" 00 buck that might be a little more comfortable.

10,263 cases and 142 deaths in the county so far from Covid. That's a lot when you look back to the end of May last year with only 40 cases. Numbers have been trending slightly downward for the past few weeks, but they're still in the high forties per day. Most deaths are still in the 75+ year old age group, most cases in the 18-24 year olds. Vaccine doses are still pretty thin on the ground, and only first responders and those 75+ are getting shots. The hospital in Chico is gearing up to dispense 5,000 doses a day, but admit they don't have sufficient supply to do that right now.

Happy Hump Day, folks!

Good morning all, 25 going up to 34 and snowing, again..... Snow is crunchy now from temp see sawing
Lent sled to neighbor, they don;t have one and kid wanted to play. Glad we had an extra. She finally got her tractor out to do the part from garage to driveway.

Buppies - no fuel for heat, Maybe time for a low gas sensor on tank, courtesy of company that forgot to autofill. I had my oil tank down pretty far end of last year, was glad I checked and got them out here. I think it had 10 or so gallons left. If there was sludge in the tank, certainly gone now :confused2:

Jim Shooz-sounds like fun on the bike, and a bit warmer than here :)
Eric - sad to hear about Captain Tom-

Still have not been able to get my father vaccine- his provider did put him on a list, so hope that helps.

Stay safe and be well, back to work

If it’s a month later it’s likely Moderna, Phizer is three weeks apart, although both have a window out to about 42 days.
Moderna provides about 80% protection 14 days after the first shot vs around 50-55% for Pfizer at that time.
