30 early heading to 45 later, very windy with gusts near 40.
Getting ready for the cleaning ladies later, I need to put the new battery in the little tractor, it痴 warmer in the tractor shed and no wind, and I have to go to the bank, if I can find my .44 caliber withdrawal slip.

Lots of angles to look at on the Bermuda discussion, I think we need to organize a cruise on a 78 Buddy Davies out of Wanchese through Oregon Inlet, then go down to Hatteras and measure the distance to Bermuda, then to Nantucket, then down to Ocracoke to visit Blackbeard, then back to Manteo for a big old seafood dinner. Anybody game?

I'll get my SCUBA gear , let's go !

23F and cloudy and cloudy @ 13:00, headed up up to a high of 28F for the day. Warm up due in for tomorrow, high of 41F predicted.

Got hopper, two sunflower tube, 1 nyjer tube, deer, squirrel, and ear of corn feeder all refilled, along with two suet cake feeders yesterday. Also three scoops of cracked corn scattered on ground. Bird food supply holding pretty good, only thing we might need is some whole corn. Deer feeder which I loaded yesterday was cleaned out by this morning.

Have been hearing raccoons late at night lately, probably mating ... so they are active. Might be them that's cleaning out the deer feeder so quickly.

The Squeak has discovered the suet cake feeder hanging just outside the window over the kitchen sink ... looks like that should provide her with some entertainment.

The new Rockdove house slippers came in yesterday, seem to be very nice ... I think the fit is perfect (bought my correct foot size), seems to be good quality and well made ... will have to see how they hold up.

The Woman whipped up some curry chicken yesterday with carrots, mushrooms, and rice and it was delicious. Will make some more rice today and polish the rest of that off.

Was taking the water tank for the vaporizer out to the kitchen last night to refill it before I went to bed, hallway lights were off and it was dark and I managed to catch the edge of the kitchen door with my left forearm which tore off a good-sized check of skin and caused me to bleed like a stuck pig. That added an extra hour before I could go to bed due to having to wait for the bleeding to stop and the blood to coagulate and dry up.

That Texas Sheetcake will be on the agenda for today, along with a haircut ... might also run down to the license bureau and get the registration for the van renewed, if they are open.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ...

If you wrap the post(s) with tin, that will help to stop the 'coons.

I am looking forward to hearing what our PM and Dr. Biden have to say about Canada/U.S. relations.

Sorry to hear about relatives and friends that have passed because of COVID-19. Condolences to families and friends.

Got my first Covid-19 shot today. It was the Pfizer vaccine. Second shot on February 10th.

Apparently us lucky oldies are to get the Pfizer vaccine as it is available earlier than the others. Our prime minister has been in touch with Norway regarding it as apparently it has caused a few deaths and allergic reactions over there. Pretty worried about it and wondering if we should take the risk at our age especially when covid is under control at present. Only cases in this country are overseas travellers and they have to be quarrantined on arrival for 2 weeks and that is when it shows up. No cases in the community at all. I know it sounds harsh but I would like to see all travellers prevented from coming until it is controlled worldwide.

I don't guess any of us know whether one brand is better than another. We just hope all of them work. We're scheduled for our second shot one week from today, and we got the Moderna vaccine.
