Good morning! 46˚F cloudy, rain likely, high in the 50s. 0.001724" rain. No contact confirmation from the covid vaccine sign-up location #2 - the one I signed up on 8 minutes after it was announced and they are giving out the vaccinations this morning. This morning the web site is reporting 44,692 have signed up at location #1. They will not tell where you are on the list.

E-mail from our Pet Club, our club president has died of a weakened heart and covid. He would collect pet supplies at his house and take them to the shelters. He also trained the dogs to be visiting dogs for the surrounding hospitals and nursing homes. They gave us a lot of good information on training Whipper to be a city dog and Whipper attended his classes. He put out a neighborhood alert that helped us find Whipper when she escaped. He will be missed.

Still very wet from the rain yesterday so Cedarcide day has been moved to the end of the week.
Sourdough is rising, still haven't decide if is will be jalapeño or cinnamon raisin flavored.

Ron, good list.

Good Morning!!!! 53F @ 6:15AM. Plentiful sunshine. High around 65F. Winds light and variable.
Winds have calmed a little since yesterday, but were still running in the 15-20MPH range overnight. The 10-day is showing rain on and off starting Friday through the following Friday. Yesterday's winds were so strong and long lived that they fanned embers from last summer's fires in the hills of Santa Clara and Santa Cruz counties, reigniting half a dozen fires. Larger fires were started farther south, some from fallen power lines. And southern utilities were once again turning off power to prevent even more fires.

Winds were also quite strong in the Feather River Canyon on my way to Reno yesterday. Several clouds of dust were thick enough to obscure the road, and one gust splashed spray from the river over the windshield. Combined with three road construction delays, I came back over I80/CA20 to make a loop instead of an out and back. No surprises with the pallet jack, the BBQ was one of those places that steams the ribs and then gives 'em a flash of smoke. Fatty and very expensive, too, but I didn't go home hungry.

Need to unload today, then get the pallets wrapped and stacked in preparation for Friday's rain. It would be nice to get a couple steel pallets taken apart so I can start a few more pairs of hoops while I'm cooped up inside staying dry next week.

Do any of you volunteer firefighters have a personal equipment list you could share? A SCBA is probably beyond what I'd need, but I'd be interested to see what you're using for turnouts and shirt/pants/shoes/gloves, and other gear you might be carrying. Curious too about sizing, as the medium size Propper wildland shirt I tried on was large enough for two of me, and the small size sleeves stopped half way to my wrists.:confused2:

Happy Hump Day!

43 going to 46 and windy sunshine.

Sorry about your dog friend, Don. Sounds like a special person.

Tough decision between the pepper and the cinnamon...make a smaller one of each?

I read the list from Roy and the list this morning from Ron to my wife...we got some good laughs at ourselves.

Cut a few dead trees down yesterday...one got hung in a notch of a nearby tree...fell where I wanted it to go, I just didn't see how long the limb was that caught it. Almost stepped on a woodcock walking over to cut one tree near the creek. Plan to go run splitter in a few minutes. Just saw a red-tail hawk catch a sparrow and sit on a fencepost pulling it apart.

21°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 45° today.

You are not the only one who's had a "mistake" wife, Drew. I married my high school sweetheart, after having broken up with her after high school. She seemed to have a problem committing to just one relationship at a time, a problem that apparently didn't go away with a marriage license. In the intervening time between breakup and getting back together, I dated a great girl for a little while, but let her get away when the ex- started sniffing around again. Was married to the first wife for just under five years. 19 years later, the great girl and I got back together again, dated for 10 years, and we've been married for just over seven years now. That 19 years thing gets a lot of entertaining mileage in our conversations.

Good morning all, 22 going up to 36 and sunny. Had another unplanned snow event yesterday for less than 15 minutes. None stuck, too warm.

Alien - Heard all kinds of choppers last night going in and out of Trenton, the NJ state capital. I'm sure that cost big $$, Harrisburg the PA capitol is pretty well guarded too today.
The soon to be former president has left the Whitehouse, hopefully this will allow some Calm. Glad to hear Covid not an issue for you, hope it stays that way.
Eric - I see Digikey sells an Arduino LoRa kit for $39USD - probably could find one cheaper, but sounds pretty neat. Too many projects for me to take on though right now.
My current manager grew up in Bermuda- Still haven't been myself.
TxDon - sorry to hear about club president-sounds like he took up a good cause.
RNG - hope the winds die down-hate to see more damage from fires, seems some people are still recovering from last wave.
PJS - Glad the current wife worked out so well. Hope it keeps going for many more

Stay safe and be well, back to work

good morning all
31 going up to 41 today and looks like light snow is starting shortly

finally our local county put up a registration site, and early this morning I signed up.
At age 70 I'm now a IA
Vaccine Registration * Starter Portal

have attorney appt this morning, guess I'll leave a little early since traffic is likely to be slow
New will, medical POA/Living Will, and springing legal POA. Dealt with this attorney a long time, smart
and very reasonable, sent me a bill for under 400 bucks for all the work. Usually it's between 500 and 1000, but this is probably
the third time he's redone my will so guess I'm getting the repeat discount.

Interestingly my second wife, the mistake, answered my letter to her home in Hawaii, and nice to catch up with her
after 20 years of no contact. She seems to be doing ok, considering she retired for psychological reasons, and has a positive outlook on life.
I'm honestly glad she is 5000 miles away. I remarried within one year of my first divorce, and boy like they say, a bad idea.** Next wife I lived with for five years
before marrying and was glad I did. Live and learn.

should be an interesting day in the world today

**though some get very lucky like Toppop

We didn’t marry for almost two years, but she moved in with me about six months after my wife died, been very good for both of us. We’ve each called the other by our late spouses’ names only once in nearly three years.

30 early heading to 45 later, very windy with gusts near 40.
Getting ready for the cleaning ladies later, I need to put the new battery in the little tractor, it’s warmer in the tractor shed and no wind, and I have to go to the bank, if I can find my .44 caliber withdrawal slip.

Lots of angles to look at on the Bermuda discussion, I think we need to organize a cruise on a 78’ Buddy Davies out of Wanchese through Oregon Inlet, then go down to Hatteras and measure the distance to Bermuda, then to Nantucket, then down to Ocracoke to visit Blackbeard, then back to Manteo for a big old seafood dinner. Anybody game?

67°F and .47 inches rain. Dryer forecast today

My new antenna and cables await pickup at PO. Of course I didn’t get word yesterday until after closed. Not that I’d get on the roof in the rain.

I did get another branch waterline run, a spigot to support using pressure washer at rear of tractorshed instead of hose. Will be most convenient for equipment.

Prayers for all and our country
Be safe
Have a great day

Tough decision between the pepper and the cinnamon...make a smaller one of each?

Done, 6 sourdough jalapeño bread sticks and a dozen sourdough/cinnamon/raisin/pecan rolls are rising in the proofing oven.

Just got word one of our water volleyball members from the country has covid now. It's a shame these people are getting and dying from covid just weeks before they are to get the vaccine.
