....

Wife and I searched the property for a Christmas tree yesterday...pickings are getting slim...too big or too small...or deer rubbed to death. But picked a nice one, got it up and lighted last night. Felt good running my chainsaw, which has been asleep for a couple of months.

Sniff...sniff...brought back memories when the girls were all little and we trekked into the woods looking for the perfect tree. Unfortunate I only brought a hand saw. LOL.

Coffee is cooling in cup. 26° with fog this morning. Heading to 47 with sun. If sky's stay clear may get picture of the Aurora Borealis tonight. Went shopping yesterday. Got everything on list. Except first item. Milk. Back out today for that. Got new drone for me from son yesterday. May do a fly with it today. Still pecking away at cleaning out cabinets, drawers and many other places where things can be stored.

Everyone stay healthy and safe.

Good Morning All.

I was reading that the Northern Lights (Aurora borealis) will be visable at much lower latitudes, possibly as far south as Pennsylvania.
I've never seen a good display of the Northern Lights...I'd really love to see this!!

Good morning, the temperature is 29°F and going up to 34. Wind W 7 mph. 30% chance of flurries.

The DIL needs to go to a town 20 minutes south of me for blood work today. She wants to be there for about 1 P.M.
That will be my day shot.

We will be clouded over, so no NL for me, but I will look anyway and maybe get the camera out.

Have a safe day all

Good morning to all! Low of 32, only going up to 44 today, with the temps dropping during the day. 4" of snow expected starting this afternoon.

Hearing you guys talk about Bucks Co, brings back good memories. We had our acreage near the intersection of 313 and 113, about 1/2 mile south. That was when there was nothing there.... Now when I Google that area, I am amazed at how much development occurred. They must have changed the rural addressing / mail system since we were there.

I got a bunch done in the shop yesterday, good progress, but still a ways to go.... I had one hiccup that may be costly, apparently I missed an embedded nail in one of the oak boards, taking a chip out each of the 3 planer blades..... now there is a small "line" that shows up. Hopefully it will be able to be sharpened out....

I need to be short posting this morning, I am going with son #1 for an appointment about hour away, need to leave in a few minutes.....

Everyone have a great day!

36°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 66° today. Voice on the radio suggested we might even hit 70°. Decidedly not a typical December here.

Wife had her friend over again yesterday making cookies all day, and by all day I mean they were at it for 12 hours. Friend finally left around 8pm. They baked and decorated somewhere in the neighborhood of 72 dozen cookies. The house smelled delicious.

I have a small reflecting telescope in storage that I used to use frequently, David. I remember once about 15 or so years ago following the ISS across the night sky with it. It was neat to see it in such detail from so far away.

I lived in a small town before I got married, Paul, and the Post Office there only delivered to the newer parts of town. They traditionally didn't deliver at all except for the rural addresses, and everyone in town had a PO Box. As the town grew, they outgrew the number of boxes available. When I moved there in '05 (to the old part of town), there were about 800 people. When I left in '13, it had grown to over 1200. It continues to grow even today. It's unfortunately starting to slowly lose it's "small town charm."

67°F and no rain.

First things first. Need to put Sophie’s washer back together. Somehow I managed to dislodge and lose a tiny spring about 1/4 x 3/4 inch from the dispenser mechanism. Of course it is one of those ‘“no longer available” parts.
I’m sure it fell inside.
Lowe’s delivery was smooth and the stove and fridge are tarped and out of the way awaiting their call to duty.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

yes, my area is New Hope,
Ken, didn't realize you were also 18938
Nice to be back in the town I grew up in, don't think I'll ever forget that zip code.
My location is actually Solebury, 18963 but rural delivery is all out of New Hope and always has been.

When it either gets a little warmer, and/or we all have our vaccines, would be fun to have you and Paul/Popgadget over to share a beer
in the garage, though honestly Paul's shop is infinitely more interesting.

You're in Bucks, right? That would explain a lot.
wonderful place to raise your kids due to quality of schools, low crime, lots of preserved farm land.
Not so wonderful when you pay your tax bill or try to hire a contractor who charges what we used to call "resort rates".

Bucks County is a magical place; going to college there in the late 70's was one of the best times of our lives.
