good morning all
another foggy drizzly morning; is this what the Pacific NW is like?
61 going up to 64 today in clouds.
all I could think of for Ted was how the scorpions and gila monsters were doing in this cold snowy weather. Like many, just never thought of NM being so cold.
first cup of coffee sure hitting the right spot, still making it about 1/3 caff and 2/3 decaf, which seems to have enough kick to get me going in the morning.
I really need to break down and buy a weather station, thinking of the big rain storm due in Wed night, more than two inches predicted, would like to track that.
bought a small HP printer/scanner yesterday in order to get copy/scan feature. Guy at Staples said there was a big shortage in HP black ink. ? what next?....
I ordered some on Amazon. Going to set up scanner as my afternoon project, hopefully I can get wifi feature to work, don't have much luck with that. I usually have to get a cord.
Have to take a load of clothes to dry cleaners this morning. Funny, the same girl/lady I dated in high school more than 50 years ago is still working there, her family's business.
She had what I called Trenton (NJ) "big hair" back then, was all the style. While there are several dry cleaners in my small town of New Hope PA, I don't mind driving over the bridge to Lambertville
to their shop. Also need to stop in liquor store there to get case of beer as thank you present for friend who drove me to VA on Saturday. Local supermarket can only sell two six packs at a time, no cases to be had. Very strange rules... The liquor store in Lambertville called Welsh's, same place it's been forever. I like these long standing small businesses, try to support them.
when I get home, going to try to plant some more bulbs. Back is still sketchy, but will take it slow. Not sure I can put off this lower back operation much longer.
my next older brother stopped over yesterday afternoon, nice to see him. He just got his negative covid test after coming back from visiting his daughter and her family in Charleston. He confirmed his accounting practice staff is now back to work in the office, after working from home for a long time. We talked cars for a while, he gets a new toy every several years, just sold his 5 year old 911S and wants something "big and loud", probably something old this time, like some American iron. He has owned lots of Corvettes, an Aston Martin, AMG's, always something with a big motor and after market exhaust. I asked him why he didn't order a new StingRay and he said because he wouldn't get it for over a year. He still should, and have fun with something else in the meanwhile. He was looking at an old Impala SS, a real boat with a 409 and a four speed, but it was sold when he called. I don't think he wants to go fast anymore, just wants to shift manually, make some noise and have fun. All good... He definitely spends time on Hemmings and Autotrader Classics. I'd sure rather do that than look at tax returns...
