... So in very clear but not nasty terms, I told them I would have been glad to help the buyers
if they had just treated me fairly. And that life was not all about taking, plus the lowest price rarely offered good value. So I declined to help them .

Well done Drew

Good Morning Everyone! 70F this morning and I feel like today is Christmas Morning!

We had thunder storms all around us yesterday afternoon and all we got was the thunder. When I went to bed, rain chances were gone.

At some point before midnight we got 1" of rain!! At least that is what my weather station is saying. Still not sure if the wife just poured some water in to mess with me. Lol

Sorry to hear about Muffin! We sure miss the doggies we have lost over the years. Each one of them have a special place in our hearts!

Coffee is done brewing. 58° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 80° with thunderstorms in afternoon. Already missing Muffin. Got her grave dug on side of a hill that is visible from house. All our pets have been buried there. What job. Ground was like concrete. Figured I would had dig it. Because it would be easier than put back hoe on tractor. Got it done. But I was beat by the time I was done. Need to landscape the area for a marker yet. RIP Muffin. Sassy was going around house looking for her this morning.
Hope to get some outside projects finished today.
Thanks everyone for the Muffin wishes. For newer members here on TBN. Jim Inman (jinman) where muffin picture was taken. Was one of the original TBN members that posted lots of good info for us. He passed a few year ago.

Drew, you did good. Neighbor that sold house across street had buyers wanting something taken off price for every little thing that inspection found. They put a stop to it by telling buyer they would put place back on market next day. Also reminded buyer that they were buying a 30 year old home. Not a new home. The market in my area is in the sellers favor. Dinner looked good.

Buckeye, good you got lawn cut.

Everyone stay healthy and safe.

Good Morning All.

good morning all.
First cup of coffee going down the hatch.<snip>

I am quite sure from their selfish perspective they just think I'm a grumpy old man. So be it. It was never "just business" like the Mafia hit men say before they shoot you in the head... Those holes in my wallet hurt and I have a good memory. Onward, but at least I got to vent my unhappiness and disappointment in these people.
As I have said here before, I have lived my life for the last twenty years by a simple motto...every day is an opportunity for kindness. They really missed out.

Hope all of you have a good start to the week.
ATTABOY Drew:cool2::cool2::cool2:

When I read the first part of your post my mind jumped to you driving over to lend them a hand.
They read like the type of people who think it's a dog eat dog world and have no ethics. They might have grown up never being told "NO" and never having to have faced consequences. If you have not already done so you should write a general letter laying out the specifics of how they beat you down on price when you were in the hospital and circulate it among your former neighbors as a warning to beware of the newcomers and apologizing for having sold to them

I was brought up to turn the other cheek. And maybe offer the other cheek also. But if they slap again deck them with all the power I can muster.

RNG do you get reports from system with statistics hours on inverters/genny?

The system does generate reports, but there's very little leeway for customizing them. And right now, there are no current shunts that are being monitored, so very little information about system performance is available, other than total kWh produced by the solar panels. The contractor says that will be corrected, but they've been saying that for several weeks now...

Good Morning!!!! 85F @ 5:45AM. Partly cloudy. Record high temperatures expected. High 107F. Winds NNW at 10 to 15 mph.
Lightning storms yesterday caused new fire starts from one end of the state to the other. Over twenty in the Mendocino National Forest west of here; we'll probably see the smoke once the sun is up. We're under a continuing Red Flag Warning, and regulators are saying rolling blackouts will continue as well. What a recipe for disaster...

Sorry to hear about Muffin, Ron. The best friends are the hardest ones to lose.

What goes around, comes around, Drew. I feel sorry for your old neighbors. Your sister should count her blessings. The LOW here was 83F yesterday, with a high of 102F. Any chance of talking you out of that chicken casserole recipe?:licking:

I'm glad you and the bear parted on good terms, Buppies.

It's been so long since I did any reloading, Eric, I'm not sure I still remember how.

Safe move went about like I thought it would yesterday, took about three hours and nobody got hurt. Didn't count on the very light rain that was trying to fall, but was grateful for the cloud cover. Almost took longer to put the closet it was in back together than the move; the organizer shelving broke into pieces and needed a couple dozen drywall screws to hold it back together. Better than new now. Now time to start shopping for a replacement with a higher fire rating.

I'll also start looking for the evap emissions parts I need for the van, probably have to get them used.

Hope everyone's week gets off to a good start!
