Buckeye - Not sure which S bridge it was, no name that I saw, was off 40 East of Old Washington.

Was a neat looking bridge.

Good Morning!!!! 83F @ 4:15AM. Sunny to partly cloudy. Near record high temperatures. High 109F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.
Looks like you edged me out by 0.4F yesterday, Don. Only got to 105.6F here. Already saw 107F back in June. Hope the forecasters are wrong about the next ten days. Supposed to hit 111F on Tuesday, then "cooling" into the low 100s by the end of the week.:fiery::hot::sweatdrop::sigh:

Hope those vet visits meant good news for Coco, Billy. :crossfingers:

Drew, if you have any other choice to satellite internet, no matter what the cost, take it. Satellite internet is my only option here, and it sux. If I try viewing streaming video at anything higher than 360 DPI, it starts buffering every few seconds. Just isn't watchable with all the interruptions. MFW's idea of using two sim cards sounds good, though, but only if you have a strong cellular signal, and it sounds like you do. I could afford a lot of sim cards for the $100/month plus I get charged for my satellite hookup, if only I had decent cellular coverage.:hissyfit:

Are your corner markers heavy enough to not walk away on their own, Thomas?

Hope you had better luck than I do trying to get to sleep in a hurry, Eric.

Started tracing fuel tank vent lines on the van yesterday, trying to unravel the riddle of the missing charcoal canister. So far I've found two, both of which eventually vent to atmosphere. And still no sign of the charcoal canister. Looks like I can buy an aftermarket one for about a hundred and forty bux, but I'd rather just adapt the one off the parts van. So I'll start poking around it this morning while the sun is still low. Yesterday was pretty brutal under those rays.

FedEx man brought the big network switch yesterday, so I got that installed and all the Ethernet connections moved over to it. Fortunately, the Power over Ethernet ports are all self sensing, and don't automatically turn on. Yeah, I accidentally plugged in devices that don't use PoE, and no damage was done. The controller software does a really nice job of displaying the state of each port with colored graphics. The app is supposed to have a zoomy enhanced reality feature where it superimposes the same graphic over a streaming video image of the ports. Since the writing next to each port is teeny tiny, that feature will come in very handy!

Found a few more WiFi devices to move over as well. Turns out some of them are 2.4 gHz only, and weren't showing up on scans of the 5 gHz band I was using.

Neighbor and his wife dropped by yesterday evening to look at my old gun safe, and we'll be moving it Sunday morning. He suggested back flushing the firetruck with muratic acid, thinking that the rust scale in the pipes and pump are holding onto the sand, and the acid would remove the rust and free the sand. Not sure if I want to suck muratic acid through the new hose and pump, though. Doesn't sound like it would be good for either of them...

The back porch was hot, hot, HOT yesterday evening, but a quick dunk under the outdoor shower did the trick, with help from a barley pop or two. Maybe do some more of that today, and throw in a siesta for good measure.

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend!

RNG, so you now have 3 bikes? :confused3: Nice looking bike.

Three R80 G/Ss, Ron. Six airheads, two Japanese dirt bikes, I think eight all together. Golfers have more than one club, right?

EDIT: Oops, left out the two in the great room, so that's ten.

Nice lily. Were the species picked so you always have some that are blooming?

Oh, and Rich, that looked like a good ride! Never made it that far east while I was living in Ohio, the farthest was Zanesville. Mostly hung out to the southeast of Columbus: Hocking Hills, Lancaster, Lake Hope.

Backyard Weather station just hit a new high, 103 and feels like 103 with 29% humidity. Time to head to the pool to experience the wet bulb temp of 76.

Edit: it got to 106 while swimming but now the temp is going down, it’s 104.
Hottest day of the year so far. . .

-------------------------
I wouldn't want to be broke down beside the road. :(

I try to grab a cup of ice and water before I head out from work on my 68 mile commute.

72 going to only 78, and still raining.

Nice bike deal, RNG...but not sure I'm convinced you're gonna sell it :).

Mostly, I've read all the Steve Berry books, except, the latest, which is sitting on my desk, waiting. My favorite fiction author...great research and plots.

Spent most of the day at the vet, or driving back and forth twice...did manage to get a hike in at a new to me park over in that county, and BEF, then went to Mission Bar-B-Q...real tasty...10 Army Special Forces men were walking inside as I left...looks like they honor 1st responders and the Military quite well.

Hope Texas cools off a little.

We need rain too. I hope Coco gets better.

Roy, trip sounds fun. We stayed in Lincoln NH many yrs ago visiting the white mts.

Yeah, we've been in the area before...never drove to the top of Mount Washington though (better do that pretty soon, if we're going to!).
Pretty rural area...wifey and stepdaughter want to look at a house some 18 miles north of Laconia. I've seen the pictures on Zillow, but pictures can be very deceiving.
If we do move, I'll need to get a job...and there's some aerospace industry and job shops in and around Laconia

74 and overcast might get a morning shower. 90% chance of rain tonight and Sunday so I better try to mow today. High 80 today, 75 tomorrow. Nothing above 80s for the next two weeks, love it.
I might have to swing blade the grass first, then mow. LOL
That’s a lot of hot in Texas!
Went to dinner with two friends at an outside seating place last night, great catfish and we dodged the showers.
Caught all the cats except one kitten that apparently is either too smart or too light to get trapped.
Hope all the ailments resolve and everyone has a great day.

Eric, I hope the visit is one to make memories for your grandkids.

RNG, hope you get the rust and sand out of the firetruck.

Speedaire compressor at home working good. Still having trouble with the big scroll compressor at work. It still will squeal the drive belt at high pressure. They finally let me order the smaller of the two pulleys.. Now, the bad pulley has ruined the new belt....

It is "Western Saturday" as usual on MeTV channel. Bat Masterson, Trackdown, my favorite Have gun, will travel, comes on at 8am - Paladin aka Richard Boone. Years ago, my wife's aunt won some contest in San Antonio, to meet the stars at Alamo City, near Bracketville....way out in the middle of nowhere. She said most all of them wouldn't give her the time of day, except for Richard Boone, whom she said talked with her quite a bit. So all the family was a Richard Boone fan from there on.

Amazon.com: Have Gun Will Travel: The Complete Series: Richard Boone, Lisa Lu, Kam Tong: Movies & TV

I have seen some episodes where Gene Roddenberry was the writer.

Lou, big snake! We have timber rattlers down here, and they are considered endangered. Luckily for them, I've never seen any...

Good morning! Only cooled down to 78˚F. Now with an unobstructed sun the Temps are rising quickly and will be another 100+ day. Looking forward to a few high 90s days early next week.

I'm confused Roy. You are looking for a retirement place in one post and looking for a job in another near Laconia?

Mostly, I don't know the temp of the pool but I suspect in the mid 80s. I think they are only running water through the solar system at night to cool the pool down. The year round lap pool is enclosed with only vent fans so the temp in the building is in the 100s.

The animals are getting their outside time while their shadows are long in this neighborhood of the sun. Temp now 82˚F and rising quickly.

Good morning to all! Low of 59 again, going for a high of 96. Last evening, the forecast was was sayin we now have chances of severe t-storms this afternoon.... I hope that we get some storms, but not the severe kind.

Cabinet doors got stained, but did not get to the metal inserts. Had to run a few errands to pay the water bill, get propane tanks filled, stop for a couple things at Walmart. Back on the doors today.

Neighbor got all the necessary pieces of metal, but then we changed up the plan... he got a 3 point carry-all frame as a "base". I/we are now going to make the fence unroller removable, so the attachment can be multipurpose. It will actually make the project easier, so why not...

US40, the old National Trail. Usta be, and still is, the National Trail Raceway, a little west of Zanesville. Still remember the "Sunday, Sunday, Sunday!" radio ads with lots of reberb for the drag races out there.
