...

Drew, prayers that recovery continues. Please send Jay the card....

I recall, many years ago....signing a card that was sent from one member to another, ultimately reaching a member who was in trying times.

It'd be nice to start that up again.

Good morning! 78˚F heading to 97˚F, last day before the 100s hit.

Ron it's a Stihl weedeater not a chain saw. The one I used and abused of the farm, but has always started easy. What is that Northern name - weed wizard?

This morning is Potato harvest. I don't expect many after the test dig last week. I'll till in some peat moss in the garden after (to lower the PH -get it more acid) because my soil test showed a PH of 8+. The well water, my irrigation source, is alkaline because of the limestone here in the Central Texas hill country.

This afternoon the repaired ceiling gets painted.

Good Morning!!!! 69F @ 4:30AM. Sunny. High 94F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.

Very happy to read all the good medical news this morning. Best wishes for continued healing on all fronts, gentlemen.

That's a very proud looking bluebird, Ron. Too bad he's not more neighborly, but when it comes to sparrows, grackles, and starlings, he's doing what's necessary.
Start a van shop? R e d i c u l o u s!:shocked::laughing:

Sounds like good progress, Mike. But sometimes a little sting in the pocketbook turns out to the best medicine for peace of mind.

Don, is that a replacement carb, or are you rebuilding your old one? Good luck either way. My first chainsaw was a Stihl 031, and a couple years after I got it, the dealer told me parts were getting hard to come by. I ended up selling it to a fellow who's 031 had been stolen, no doubt he was hoping I was the thief.

Glad your neighbor worked himself out of the jam, Rick. Be a shame to get that nice clean tractor all dirty again so soon!

Got a start on the door locks yesterday, but first hooked the alarm into the little switches that turn on the dome light when the driver's or passenger doors open. And in order to do that, I had to find and install one of the dome lights. Now where did it go? In a labeled plastic bag, in a box with oh so many other labeled plastic bags...:confused2: There are also switches for the side sliding door and rear hatches, but they don't seem to be wired into the dome lights. And I'm not finding any other wires for lights in the ceiling openings, but then again, something could have happened to them during the roof swap. More detective work is needed. At this rate, Ted, three or four more years of this might be a little optimistic!

More wiring on the agenda for today, and also touch base with an instrument repair shop to make arrangements to have the speedo and tach reconditioned. Then get them boxed up to ship when I'm in town tomorrow.

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!

I have never rebuilt a carb. The only reason I got the replacement kit was because fuel was leaking and it was oily over everything - so it was cheap enough just to replace all possible leak locations. I would have been the last part I replaced anyway, just got to the end quicker. I'm out of fuel so a trip to HD.

.
Wiz Whip. Had a Clinton 2 stroke engine on it. Cleared a lot of field with it. Put a 10" metal blade on it.

How 'bout some more good news today?

After Dirty Jobs, Mike Rowe started a new series called Returning The Favor. Here's an episode involving the unlikely combination of mother's milk and motorcycles, a little ray of sunshine among all of the storm clouds we've been dealing with lately...

Hmm, when I looked at my post on iPad. It did not show the emoji with head banging on wall. :confused3::laughing:

Oh, the head banger showed up just fine on the laptop, Ron. The thing about banging your head against the wall is that it feels sooooo good when you stop, and I'm very much looking forward to that day, at least as far as the van is concerned.:cloud9:
