Roy, the .300BLK should be good fun. Do you already have a scope for it ? I imagine a reticule with a few elevation marks would be handy for that looping trajectory when shooting more that 60 yds with sub-sonics
No, haven't got a scope yet. As you're probably aware, the Ruger American rifles have no sights, so an optic of some sort is required. I have the same rifle in 5.56 caliber, with a sight...might yank that one off and put it on the .300BLK rifle.
The Ruger American rifles are comparatively inexpensive rifles. It's going to be real easy to put more money into the accessories then the rifle's cost. Just a suppressor costs 2-3 times as much, and that's not including the $200.00 tax stamp!

Roy, nice looking rifle. How long does it take to get a suppressor these days?

Before COVID-19, about 8 months...no tellin' now.

70°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 84° today. Expecting rain most of the day (so much for that two weeks of dry weather).

Stayed up waaaay too late last night piddling around in the studio. Had a moment of vocal inspiration, and had to get it out. Left part of it unfinished, but got the basic ideas recorded before shutting down to shave and shower. Finally got to bed right at midnight. That 05:00 alarm was rude this morning. Probably do it again tonight ... because I'm a glutton like that.

Nice, colorful pics, BEF.

Eric, that's a very illustrative picture of Max saying "What?!", muffled through a mouth full of bunny.

Condolences on the loss of your cousin, Buppies.

Hang in there, Drew. You'll get through this, and come out the other end with some entertaining stories about it.

Quote - - Kyle - - LS, is that the new "dog house".

Yes, it could be if I do not play my cards right.... at this point, I cannot recall anything that could end me up in there, but you never know...

Good morning to all ! Low was only to the mid 50s, a calm breeze, so not too bad. High today up to the lower 90s... too hot in my book. More for tomorrow and Saturday, a big cool down forecast for Monday.

Bruce, yes the house was in the sun again.... storms all around, but not overhead. Radar shows them coming right towards us.... nada, nope, not gonna happen.....

Drew, sorry to hear they are keeping you for an extended stay. Like others have said, ask why.... it is good to have a good advocate as a liaison, but you will be your best own advocate. Prayers and thoughts are with you, stay strong!

Today’s agenda is comprised of prep and painting. We ordered the shed specifically without paint so that we could paint it to match the house and garage (wifeys OCD... all buildings have to match). I do have to admit, I like the final look.

Second painting project is spraying the cast iron park bench legs / frame. I did one side yesterday, but had to wait until that dried so I can flip over and do the opposite side. I did not think that through, I should have taken the few minutes needed to just hang them up so I could haves sprayed them completely all the way around. Well, cannot think of everything....

Hopefully the paint projects will be completed between today and tomorrow.

Ron, nice pic of the cardinal taking a bath. We have been watching the birds here taking turns in the pond.

Buppies, my condolences for the death of your cousin... too young for sure!

RS, yesterday I went to use the vice for a quick fix of something and I could not get it to cinch down.... ? ? ? .... sure enough one of the screws was backed out and the other was really loose... then I see your post / pics this morning..... strange.

Thomas, glad you got through one phase of your painting project. I am fortunate that wifey likes to paint inside the house... she is definitely better than me cutting in around stuff.

I have to get it in gear and get moving... daylight is burning! We want to quit for the day when it gets too hot...

Heard PA got whacked by a derecho yesterday. Those storms are unreal. Had one came through this area a few years back, it took weeks to clean up.

.

I remember the one we got back around 2013 maybe. I have pics of the radar image from it, a fast moving front stretched for hundreds of miles. Looking at the radar last night, I saw nothing resembling a derecho over PA, but there was a massive single storm cell between York and Lancaster that I’m sure caused damage.

Glad you got your hay in.

68F and pouring rain (the WB screen on my phone that is reporting the temp says 30% chance of rain ...), calling for a high of 78F.

70% chance of storms tomorrow and 50% chance on Friday. After that it is supposed to be mostly clear sailing ...

If we get any more rain over the next couple of days, the grass should really be impressive by the time I can start cutting it ...

Was up in the shop until almost midnight.

Got the rest of the capscrew heads cut down, remaining holes in the other half of the vise drilled, and the jaws drilled for countersinks.

Then got the first half assembled with blue, medium-strength thread locker ... and then ran out of the juice before I could do the other side.

So running down to the hardware and picking up a tube of that will be the first order of business today.

Hope everyone has productive, enjoyable, and safe day ...

Made a bracket with adjustable screw for tension spring on Kubota 72” MMM. Much easier than using hook to pull spring in place on a pin.
Also checked engine mounts on JD mower. All is OK. Ready to cut lawn Saturday.
