Good Morning!!!! 73F @ 6:30AM. Sunny. High 101F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.
Unfortunately, what you're experiencing is a lot like what happened with my parents. Things change for no apparent reason, day to day, even hour by hour. And no explanation, just a shrug or they stare at their feet while they deliver the bad news. That's where it's important to have someone advocating for you, it sounds like your brother is already in your corner and fighting for you. Make sure he's aware of what's going on so he can take steps to deal with it and keep you on the right course. Having no control over your life, or of what is happening to someone you love, is one of the hardest things to endure. Yet that's what happens every day to people with medical issues, and I'm sorry you're going through this.
Glad you're OK after all that bad weather, Ken. And that your generator is seeing you through.
Having five people clear away the prunings sounds like a slice of heaven, Don. Hope you find the cause of the leaks.
Your water shots have me thinking about using one of the abandoned sprinkler circuits to feed a birdbath/water feature, Ron. You know, for when I don't have anything else to do...

Glad to hear that, unlike the squirrel, the kittens had enough sense to stay out of the paint, Thomas.
Looks like those vise jaws will be better than new when you're through, RS. I've never seen vertical notches in one before, and they look like they could be very handy.
Sounds like the same guy that took six weeks to fix my tractor is working on that lathe, Kyle. :duh: And that you're a very handy guy...
I didn't stand a chance yesterday. The electrician showed up with only one helper, down from the four he started with on Monday. I told him I wanted to run through the single line drawing with him shortly after he arrived, and he agreed it would be a good idea. But his real motive was to finish the installation that day, wham, bam, thank you, mam. He got it all put together, then it wouldn't work. For the last hour, he had power going on and off, but no battery charging. The panels make power, but he blamed bad charge controllers. All outback equipment, except the battery. Which I notice has a 12/2018 build date on the cabinet name plate.

He blew that off, too. Last time I checked, I noticed he's routed the 2" flex conduit to the battery cabinet out the side, and now the blinds on the glass sliding door in the garage can't be closed.:confused2: So I'm still on the grid, we never had our talk. I have a call in to the salesman, and as usual, I've heard nothing back. If I don't hear anything by noon, I'll try the owner of the company. Just too many shortcuts being taken and Bandaid fixes leaving me with not much faith in the reliability of the result. I'll get it there, but this isn't the experience I was sold.
I did get the big trench filled in yesterday, using most of the dirt that came out of it and a lot of what came out of the cut for the shipping container. And the rock pile got a LOT bigger, too. Still need to set the grade of the bank between the garage pad and the pump house location, and the fire truck is in the way. It's been a while since it ran, so it's probably time to untarp it and get it going again, anyway.
First, though, I need to mix a tank of herbicide and spray weeds, so that's on the agenda for after breakfast.
Up very early this morning and noticed the very orange moon setting.

Caught it just as it sank behind the top of the canyon, but auto focus just couldn't lock on and it was too dark to work the controls manually.
Really looking forward to cooler weather tomorrow through the weekend. Yesterday was a real scorcher, and today is looking the same. Thanks goodness for wicking materials and wide brim straw hats.
