Flail mowing done. Time to enjoy visiting with wife, play a card game, share an adult beverage, basically relax and count blessings.
Life is good.

That's a great plan! Enjoy.

I miss Drew's reports. I pray he is OK.

For tomorrow I say, Some gave all, and so did their families, for our freedom.

Good evening all. 65F for the start, .3 inch in rain gauge, overcast, light wind. Wind was moderate with brisk gust most of the day really cranked up during evening hours. Sky cleared of for a short while then clouded back up in afternoon with thunderstorms in area, on got some drizzle, high temp 85F. Cleaned up most of the limbs today, was warm enough took hydration break, too wet to mow the smaller stuff, so took a while to do. did get nap in :)
Covid update: Cooke unchanged, Montague unchanged, Grayson up to 296 confirmed, active cases 191.

Roy hope you got ready for tread mill and then it got delivered.
Rich sounds like Ohio's officials are acting like the south end of a north bound skunk
Ron, cool pic of the baby crane, hope you got lawn mowed.
Mike sorry about your maple trees.
RNG sounds like you are liking the new tractor more and more. Digging in wet clay will whip anyone's but, don't ask me how I know. Learning the fish in the lake is taking some time Most of my bass fishing was in a 90 mile long lake with clear water and cliffs 150 feet deep. This lake is 3 miles long not clear and 20 feet deep and no cliffs
Ted hard to believe you are having trouble playing in the gravel :)
Ron thanks for the update on Harvey. I understand he is in Grayson county now. Last years Red River ride passed by close to his house did not know that at the time.

Well, a lot of stuff done today... I almost think I am more tired / worn out supervising than doing the work! Lots and lots of walking back and forth between projects and the shop! Pics below of some of the stuff.

One son impressed me with his joinery skills. Notched 4x4 to fit nice and tight together. Overall a very nice job.

Other son impressed me with his persistence in dismantling the shed. He took all the shingles off, all the facia boards, then dismantled all the rafters. Organized all the good stuff to be repurposed, and loaded all the trash / scrap into the back of his brothers truck to be taken to the dump!

Then got the support beam up and secured for the back (or side) porch on the cottage. I will cut and stain the rafters tomorrow, maybe get some up in place.

Dinner turned out great, everything was delicious! Looking forward to tomorrow痴 dinner already... wifey made homemade Italian meatballs, tomorrow she will make her homemade Italian gravy.... I call it sauce, she calls it gravy... it does not matter... a real treat for me... oh and some homemade fresh Italian bread.... mmmm ... I am getting hungry already!

Time for hot shower and bed....

Worship went well this morning. Very small crowd, which was good for first time back. All had masks and sat apart.

I’ve been digitizing some old vhs tapes. Thought I had burned all to dvd, discovered some were partially done. Took awhile to find my usb capture device, skipping the DVD stage and recording straight to digital. Tapes from 1995 still playing great.

Did you try to take clippers apart and reassemble?
I did not have to take it apart. It broke into three pieces when it hit the tile floor. Things are not just lining up perfect anymore. I think it was payback from dropping her iPad. We are even now.

Is that his wife's new tractor? She sure has a nice new tractor. She's the one who still has a job right? He had better not sneak it out while she's gone to work.

Good morning, 14C/57F at 8am and plenty of ocean cooled air to give a predicted high on a day without a single cloud of 20C/68F.

Part of our low lying "wetland" area has dried out unusually quickly this year. It is starting to get taken over by willow saplings, many of which are not much more than waist height. Yesterday I had a good session of spraying them with glyphosate. It took quite a while because only the surface is dry, I had to walk sideways to tramp down rush stems below my feet, which then spread my weight just enough not to sink in. In one place I did break through into the mud below and sunk down below my knees. Didn't take that long to get out, but made me think harder on what to do for the future. Think the pond in the middle needs making deeper and wider and the mud excavated spread over the rest to try and make it firmer. It is far too big an area to reach from firm ground. I know a man with a big machine, mats and lots of skill, time I gave him a ring to see if he will come and have a look.

L4N, being rocked to sleep on your own boat while still firmly tied to land sounds great. I wouldn't fancy sleeping out in open water, there is always a bigger boat that could spoil the dreams.

LS, does your wife come from Italy ? Half of our son's girlfriend's family are Italian. The pandemic has been good for them as it gave them the push to start living together in one house. Now just as you describe, each mealtime has become a major event for him to look forward to.
