Poured first cup of coffee. 61° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 86° with chance of thunderstorms in afternoon. Got some of the flower garden I have been cleaning up done. Hope to get some more done today. Shop is now back to being usable again. Need to get tractor out and cleanout culvert ends that crosses under drive. Then back in house to stay cool.

Remember today is celebrated in memory for all those that gave everything.
I use it as a day to remember all those that fought for our freedoms. My Dad was in WWI, All my mothers brothers were in WWII and Korea. My 2 brothers were in Vietnam. My oldest son was in Desert Storm. All returned safe and injury free. I thank everyone that served for their service.

Today is last day of bird feeding. Replacing feeders with houses. Bluebirds moved on. I think because to much action around feeders. Also putting out Hummingbird feeders.

Prayers and best wishes for Drew.

LS, those projects look like they need lots of suppervisition. Great pictures.

Looking, slept many nights on my boats. Always a good night sleep. I bought a new top for my 88 Thundercraft Magnum 290 in 96. Got it from a top factory in Barre, Ont. Never put it on. The stuff they used was very tuff. Better than Sunbrella. Did have to get original restitched.

Don, batteries, clippers and iPad. You need some seat time that pays $$$$.

Everyone have a great Memorial Day.

Good Morning All.

Good morning! 61 now, feels great outside. Supposed to get to 87 today. No rain in the forecast for today.

We went to the store yesterday, the paper products section is still empty. But Rite Aid had paper towels which we did need. Meat and bread was in good supply, other things were spotty.

Came home and we did assorted outside chores. We both agreed last evening we aren稚 adjusted to the heat yet.

Today is Memorial Day, take some time to remember.

Everyone stay safe out there.

51 right now...high in the upper 70's today...

Not sure what I'm going to do today...still have some trees and branches to drop, but my back is aching from the last couple day's activities. Maybe just goof off, since I'm very proficient at that...

61 and still cloudy...going to 77.

Prayers for families of lost heroes.

No rain yesterday, just more cool mist...didn't keep me from firing up the grill for our stay at home cookout.

Ted, real nice job by your son on that porch.

Kyle, I saw it was nyt and didn't click, either.

Buppies, sorry you're still getting so much rain. My son and his GF hiked the 11 mile Rocky Knob loop trail out your way (near Floyd) Saturday with their dogs and got rained on part of the time...pictures of the waterfall looked great - very full.

Thomas, beautiful place you have...is that monster tree a white pine? We had a red fox sighting, too...about 3pm heard a turkey hen putt and cackle repeatedly at the bottom of the hill...watched her trot back and forth like she was trying to attract something...and sure enough in a couple of minutes the fox showed...got very close to the hen, but acted afraid of it and then I noticed it had some prey in its mouth...seems it was waiting for the hen to move so it could follow the easy trail (rather than cross the creek) to where I believe it has a den (based on trail cam photos). As soon as it went off, the turkey walked in the direction from where the fox originally came, and went quiet.

Good morning, the temp is 56°F and the high will be 82. Wind NNW 2 mph. Mainly sunny.

I am not sure what I will be getting up to today, but you can be assured it will be no good. I surely do NOT want to go to work tomorrow.

I took a close look at the 30' Sea-Ray that took my slip. It sure is a nice boat and should be fairly stable in rough water with an 11.5' beam. It is kinda interesting, he works for a trucking company west of Toronto and I work for a trucking/construction company just north of Toronto. There are 6 slips in this shed and 3 of us are working in trucking. At 73 I am the oldest.

I caught a bit of the news yesterday and there were a whole lot of people out in the 'closed' parks in Toronto and lots of them got busted for disobeying the 'social distancing' rule of 6 feet apart. I don't know what the fine is and I don't want to find out the hard way.
I watched a cop that had pulled over a speeder and he approached the car on the passenger side to talk to the driver through the passengers' window.
Keep in mind that the speed limit signs up here are merely a suggestion. In 55 mph zones, if you do 55, you are holding up traffic. The rest of the traffic is usually doing about 65-70 mph. I was coming down one of the mostly 2 lane road/highway where the limit is 55 (90kph), I was doing 10 K over and a Chev pickup was riding my bumper, so I slowed down to the limit, locked the cruise and peed him right off. The way I look at it, I am already speeding and you want to tailgate me, no problem. I will slow down to the limit and give you a reason to tailgate. Too bad all the cops were in Tim Hortons.

Lets all stay healthy so we can talk about this cv19 problem in years to come

Good Morning!!!! 72F @ 6:45AM. Sunny. Hot. High 98F. Winds light and variable.

Sounds like the fox got a turkey chick, Wng.

Down here you'd get pulled over for impeding traffic, Bill, and rightly so. Glad you got a good night's sleep, though!

Sure were a lot of boats out on the reservoir yesterday. Watched a couple of close calls; wonder how many of them had been drinking.

Pretty much finished up the mowing yesterday. There's always more to do, but this year I drew the line at where I felt safe and stayed off the steepest parts of the property. It was an easy call, as the grass is so high it pretty much hides everything below it, and I really can't tell if there's a hole or rock or drop off until I bump or fall into it.

After a late lunch, I got eight of the twenty solar panels installed. Carried the first one out on the side-by-side, used the forks on the tractor for the rest of them to let it do the heavy lifting. Each one weighs almost fifty pounds, and they're bulky and awkward to handle, just on the edge of what I feel comfortable doing on my own. Getting to some of the hold down bolts is proving to be a stretch, too. Literally. Probably take most of today to finish. Just to keep it interesting, the hillside the panels are sitting on is steep enough that the tractor is barely maintaining traction on the gravel getting up to the rack, and will slowly creep backwards with the parking brake applied as tight as I can get it. So the routine is to set the brake, then quickly jump down and throw a wheel chock under a back tire. Then try to remember not to back over it when it's time to go get another panel.

Yes white pine and someday going to make good lighting rod.
Nor will fox mess turkey/turkeys but gives them good looking over.

Good morning to all! Low is a chilly (what now seems to be) 40, only 51 now, going for 72. Overcast and cloudy, so maybe those chances of showers will be correct.

I had a hard time falling asleep again, tossing and turning until about 2 am. Needless to say, difficult time waking up this morning, slept in until 7.

Thomas, if you caught that red eye flight, you would be in time for dinner!

Eric, yes she is from Italy. She makes all the Italian food from scratch.... except for pasta... she reports that to be “ too much of a PIA “

I have not seen either son stirring about yet, so I am assuming yesterday’s work kicked them pretty good! I might have to go disturb their nests....

Speaking of nests, found one in the garden shed up in the corner, has some little peeps in it, so no disturbing it for a few weeks. Momma hid it real well, being we did not see it until too late!

Everyone have a great day!
