Saw on FB

Need to know where the starter fluid goes??

View attachment 636296

The old timers that taught me said it went on the gears to keep 'em lubricated.

These days I make sure to use the "lubed for life" starters so I don't have to mess around with the fluid anymore.

Except for getting stubborn tire beads to seat; I keep a can of starter fluid around still just for that...

53°F and rain this morning, going up to 61° today.

Stopped at Tractor Supply in Carlyle on the way home from work yesterday - actually, about 25 miles past home - to pick up chicken feed. It rained lightly here and there, and the skies were kind enough to wait until I was loading the feed into the barn to really open up. Got it all mixed and ready to go, then sat in the barn for about 20 minutes while a rather active storm cell passed over us. Really loud in a metal pole barn. Not to mention the "thrill" of opening and closing the door on a big metal building in an electrical storm. Exhilarating.

Nice prep work, Ted.

Hope you can get your animals in order, Thomas. Don't want to give your new neighbors a poor perception of country living.

Thomas, control those critters or else!
Up to 47 after a low of 26. High to 62 after 38 yesterday. Looks like 4-5 days of warmth before winter comes back.

I was able to walk my garbage wheeler to the road yesterday for the first time in over a year.
I’ve lost around 10 lbs recently and I feel good. Wng my brother lives just north of Elizabeth City and recent trail cam pics have turned up red wolves where coyotes use to be.

Going to install my non skid on the tractor step as soon as it arrives.

Drew, hope all works out positive for you.

Good day and prayers to all.

good morning all.
Not doing too well this morning, headed off to primary doc's in an hour and then likely most of day in hospital cardiac unit.
But I got all my baking done for garden club this morning, so I don't have to worry about that. Just have to drop all the muffins and brownies at the club meeting, then headed to primary, who will likely ship me right off to hospital. I packed a bag, laptop, wifi, underwear... Hopefully they won't find anything. The last year has been pretty hard on me, for a guy who rarely gets sick. I'm not used to it and living alone makes it all worse. Taking a thumping and keeping on humping. Have to make every day a good one.

Meeting with realtors went fine. They want to list it now, of course, told them May when I get back from rv trip West. Apparently this is a buyer beware state and they are telling me not to be at showings because I volunteer too much info, a full disclosure guy that gives realtors the willies.

Prayers for you Drew. Hope they figure out what's up, and can help you. Try to relax, read or something to help avoid the anxiety. It only makes it worse.

Wng, you can borrow one of our chainsaws. :)

I have a spare smaller set of Oxyacetylene bottles, cart, regulators, and a cutting torch (I'm going to sell if anyone's interested). I need to get new hoses for the setup first.

Need to go get a haircut, car inspection, new auto license sticker. Quick way to spend a $100 bucks.

Good Morning!!!! 40F @ 6:30AM. Some clouds this morning will give way to generally sunny skies for the afternoon. High 54F. Winds SSE at 5 to 10 mph.

Hoping you get good news at the doctor's office, Drew, and glad you're getting that numbness checked out.

Sounds to me like somebody needs to have a talk with the new neighbors about minding their own darn business, Thomas.:muttering:

Nice work, Ted. What's your secret?

The gal from environmental services came out yesterday, and we spent some time making measurements to find safe locations for the electrical trench and solar panel array posts. She left satisfied I wouldn't be punching any holes in the leach lines, and in the afternoon my building permit was approved. Time to get busy placing orders and getting a fire going under the solar power contractor!

Called my neighbor that will drill the 6' deep post holes, and he's down with the flu. Sounds like he's swallowed a frog, but there's plenty of time for him to recover before I'll have everything needed for those holes.

Visited with my other neighbor that has the trencher, and made some measurements of it to help lay out the trench path. His wife raises goats, and she said there were over thirty new babies this past year. They'd sold most of them, and said it was more work than it was worth, so she's reducing their numbers to just what their land/brush can support.

Ended the day with another campfire, feeding it old medical insurance statements. Most of those envelopes remained unopened, and the fire caused the plastic windows in them to shrivel up in a most peculiar way.:confused2: Gonna call 'em today and see if I can go electronic for the statements and save the waste of paper.

While I was out there, I listened to the new album from The Who. Some of the lyrics are loaded with nostalgia, not surprising from guys in their 70s. Even better, their voices and playing are still great; if you're a Who fan, it's worth checking out.

TGIF gang!:drink:

I'm a big Who fan. Will have to look/listen into it. Only 2 Who left (original).

Still a surprising amount of snow on yet this morning. Only melt was in direct sun light.
