Speaking of holding tongues; my Dad worked the ticket window at Union Station in Toronto for Canadian Pacific Railway. Many times a passenger would rush up to his window and ask, "what time does the 4 O'clock train leave"? His answer, "3:60". Shortly after that incident the powers that be made him Toronto Terminal passenger agent. A raise in pay and better hours.

Good answer
Like when nurse ask you your height and your 6'1" and she question your answer than say its really 73" than she believe you,or when someone says were going to get 12" snow and you say I heard foot snow and they say I didn't know we were going to get that much.

\RNG, that ride is not one you are going to forget. It was fun to "share", especially as for us, that meant not having to sleep next to the crazy guy. :) Maybe you could put a bit more research into better places to stay.

I've never had a problem with the Americas Best chain before, Eric, and this one had been recently remodeled, with upgraded bathroom, fresh carpet, and new paint on the exterior. It looked beautiful, but those paper thin walls were not addressed. It got a four star out of five rating on Google, for what that's worth. In the future, though, I'll be asking about demented neighbors at the checkin desk.

Good Morning!!!! 46F @ 5:15AM. Sun and clouds mixed. High 61F. Winds light and variable.

I once asked a clerk in a stationary store if I could purchase two feet of tissue paper. I was told it was only sold by the yard. So I asked if she could sell me two thirds of a yard, and she smiled as she sliced off two feet from the roll.:confused2:

Much of yesterday's ride was through fog, which didn't limit visibility so much as it did lower the temperature. Fortunately, the repair to the heated jacket power cord held up, and turning the control all the way up kept me comfortably warm. I never appreciated how much difference that piece of plastic in the windshield made in comfort, and in noise level, before. My ears are still ringing, more than usual...

Not sure what's on the agenda for today, but there's enough catching up to do to rule out energy conservation. That'll have to wait, maybe for the rain that is predicted for tomorrow.

Good morning! 48˚F to 58˚F today with mostly clear skies.

Lots of options today but most likely will play on the tractor spreading mulch - our accumulative mulch pile is the size of a house. I can spread 22 FEL's full around the new gardens.

My wife starts her 3rd semester of Spanish today in the language club.

I had a Ohio State cop, who by the way was holding my drivers' licence in his hand ask me how tall I was. It is right there on the license. 193 cm., which I told him. He didn't much like my answer, but the six other guys in the scale house loved it. He informed me that I was teetering very close to a jail cell, so I told him in terms he could understand. 6'4"

Randy ... we've had really good results using Wet & Forget on the north facing siding on our house. The effect seems to last. I apply it using my foam gun and pressure washer. I can do second story from the ground.

Everyone have an excellent start to your weekend.

Prayers to all.

I finally sprayed some wet and forget with a pump sprayer, and it removed as high as I could spray. It works.

Rick have you ever tried wet & forget on rock?

I heard it works well on tombstones.

Good morning to all! Low of 16, going for a high of 45, sunny. We did get some quick moving snow squalls through yesterday, only a dusting left after each one. They were spread far enough apart that the sun would melt the little snow off, then the next would come by....

Today should be nice enough outside to take down the Christmas lights. I procrastinated last year and then got a bunch of snow making the job miserable.... I do not think that I will take the chance....

I think I am over the worst of this bug, just a nagging cough and congestion left. Fuel gauge seems a bit on the low side... not much energy

Randy, glad to hear that you are improving and feeling much better!

David, sorry to hear about the water heater troubles. I would recommend getting a new one... you might be able to replace some parts, but more than likely, the the heater will become listed as obsolete next year.... just bite the bullet and replace....
I hope Sophie can get her vision all squared away.

WNG, how far from the quarry were you when they blasted? We are about 7 miles from one out here and we can always feel the percussion from when they blast. Enough to make the glasses in the cabinets rattle.

RNG, glad you made it back home without incident. Looks like you have some work on the bike lined up already!

Well, gonna get moving.... everyone have a great day! Prayers sent.

Oh, I forgot....
Thomas, wifey ‘ s list said “ no substitutions “ .... she did not mention any additional items to the list.... sounds like an open invitation to get those extras....:D:drink:
