Lunch invite to neighbors today. I know he’s excited to show off his new EGO zero turn he got last week.

Now that'a something that gets my interest. Ask about the pros and cons.

The new EGO hedge trimmer is a big improvement over the earlier version that I had. It is longer and lighter and best of all it has a swivel base which allows your hands to stay in the same position clipping the hedge sides or the top.

Well it's past morning, so afternoon all;
Hot humid and hazy here has been the name of the game.
Got our Starlink cable run completed Monday early AM and moved the antenna to it's new location, all seems good now.
Did a bit on my mower beam repair this morning;

Gussets all welded on, painted and drying maybe put it togther tomorrow

Okra all watered/fertilized.

2 more Sunny Boy tomatoes planted and watered in.

Started putting cages on the Sunny Boys proper side up and driven into the ground. Got maybe 4 or 5 done.

Took refurbished Blue Bird house that I was going to put up in the garden and put it up on the pole by the gas meter to replace the one I took down.

Retrieved the 1/2 inch impact from the shop, along with another can of Hunter Green Rust Oleum enamel. The can I was using still has some in it but it’s not coming out … and the nozzle isn’t actually clogged. Very disappointing.

Swung the barn on the way back and grabbed the pressure washer and brought it over to the house.

Came inside to switch over from warm coffee to a more refreshing drink … Mike’s Hard Lime.

Speaking of Mike, hope he’s doing ok … along with Ted.

Time to go refuel the Cub and then start getting those Hungarian Wax peppers in the ground.

Storms just missed us. Got warning, thunder, a handfull of drops.

back from trip to Nashville, and our oldest son. Hit 3 Buc-ees in 1 day going both direction. Stopped on way down in Pigeon Forge for a round of mini golf, and supper at the old mill. When we left monday to drive home, he was still asleep, but when we reached southern VA, he was already in a hotel in arlington VA for a work trip.

was hoping for rain. temps did drop to 77 deg from around 95 deg.

Still need to get my up stairs AC working.
Cats missed us.

96 now...had the hottest hike of the year earlier today...Della cooled off in the river. Had the park to ourselves...everyone else too smart to go today. Got the mowing done between storms yesterday.

Good (Wednesday) morning. Overnight Low of 4.5C and it's presently 12C, clear & calm. There was 2.8mm in the gauge @0900... a heck of a lot less than the 10-15mm predicted.

I received a text from the Mad Agisting Horse Woman that they're going to transfer the horses over to where they live (maybe a km away) for a while, today. Just to give my paddocks a bit of a rest.

Not that that's going to do any real good. It being Winter, nothing is really growing, even though it's all very green. Because of that the forest critters (my 'next door neighbours') have pretty much 'lawned' my property down to a putting-green level.

It being Wednesday it's 'into town' day for scripts, the PO, petrol for the ute, and groceries.

Thanks for posting the videos. I think people who aren't around rivers that are subject to flash flooding have a hard time comprehending how fast water can rise. There appeared to be much higher damage from prior floods on some of the trees.

I've seen water rise so quickly that it looked like a four foot high wave was coming down river, and sounded like the proverbial freight train. The final height was ~25' up over something like a 175' of width. It didn't take long before whole trees and houses were moving by at a fast clip.

We had another deadly flash flood event on the Blanco river a handful of years ago.

My mom was griping about the gov't response and I reminded her of North Carolina and FEMA response.
The NOAA weather stations, normally have 2 people, had 5 people. They started putting out warnings hours before the event. There is horrible cell phone coverage. One meteorologists recommends the campers ALL have weather radios that broadcast alarms. Just too much water too fast, as my previous post graph showed.

Mom's watchman procedure went well, she spent 1 night in the hospital for observation. The procedure can reduce risk of stroke to 1%, and many can get off high dollar blood thinners. Eloquist was taken off of my mom's regimen, and spiranolactone. Also, the mitral valve clip is doing not perfect, but pretty good. Her BP has dropped so much we've taken her off of most all of her BP meds too. She is taking a baby aspirin, and Plavix. God is great.

Good evening all. 74ºF for the start, overcast sky, light breeze. light wind, clouds varied all day, thunderstorm dropped .5 inch early afternoon, and high temp was 92ºF, HI 103ºF. Made coffee to start day, Grief share, bike ride, lunch, started pulling sandburrs, got rain delayed, by the time rain quit and finished pulling sandburrs, it was time to clean up, nap and get picked up for birthday celebration. Stepdaughter got over 20 people to show, was a nice dinner.
Ron good to see progress on Trak-Vac. Glad PT went well. Hope weeding of flower gardens went well. I thought it was interesting that only 2 of the three toms were displaying. Nice butterfly pic
Drew my is still growing like crazy as well. Hope your new mold counter measures are working in the grden this year.
Buppies hope you got shrubs water and a nap in. prayers sent.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 67° with rain this morning. Heading to 78° with off and on rain all day. Got another coat of paint on Trac-Vac yesterday. Did not get much weed pulling done. Neighbor had a leak in their outdoor water pipes. Had to replace faucet valve and plug off 2 outlets that had not been used in years. That finished off the day. It was to warm to put time on back porch. Going to be a inside day. Got some house cleaning that needs to be done.

Mostly, all 3 Toms had their feathers out. But by the time I got camera ready to take photo 1 had done enough.

glad I had the lawn mowed, all looks nice and green now

headed downtown early to drop off a big home grown poblano pepper for my brother, welcome him home from
family trip to Bermuda. I put in an order for a chocolate rum cake that Bermuda is well known for
and will see if he remembered.

the loss of life in Texas has now exceeded hurricane helene. 170 people still can't be found.
am hoping technology can help here with improving reception in those areas that are dangerous and provide better
warning in the future. Pretty sure there will be new safety protocols for anyone camping out in a flood zone.
all those children, just so sad, hard to imagine for parents.

this is when communities come together. I bet there is a huge amount of support here from locals.
this wasn't that far West of Don and others.

Outside chores done E muffin time.
Meet yesterday with store manager and district manager raise my eyebrow couple times,no raises next 2 years, drivers will have $5.13 deduced from there paid for insurance each paycheck. maybe that's why Advance Auto has close700+ store little over year.
In the beginning I was willing to help until part store hire enough full time driver no more than 6 months,1 year 10 months later store has less drivers.
Mrs. and I talk it over last evening she wants me to get done due to age and health,setting on the deck last evening thought about it all,so today I will hand in logbook ID card etc.
Plans for today...couple stops in town,replace bathroom GFI breaker for some reason keeps tripping see that cure problem,breaker 45 years old.
