Took a coordinated effort between tractor and lift gate.

Driver was initially surprised what he was picking up, but impressed with the LS.

I figure the palletized generator was likely about 2300lbs.

Size is primarily due to 2 factors.
1. the sound attenuating enclosure.
2. The 100 gal diesel tank. When I bought this I was still using 5 gal containers. Soon upgraded to the 125 gal storage which meant I’d get delivery for both, usually around 150+. Had already decided I’d replace this one when I went to 500 storage.

Somewhat ironic (in a very good way) but my only generator run since my new batteries has been 15 minute exercise.

Good evening all. 58F for the start, cloudy, calm wind, wind increased through most of day, stayed mostly cloudy through the day, high temp 72F. Cleaning lady prep, worked on Christmas light got light mounts on both gables, got the C7 light strung, got the icicle lights on one gable, need to put icicle lights on other gable ad plug all the light string into photo-eye switches. Did get bike ride in, not enough motivation to work on lights.
Roy, Sunday rode with a friend who was excite about "red dot" sight system on some pistols. Are you familiar with what he id talking about?
Drew pic of light when up.
Buckeye, good to hear you can cut back on meds.
Ron sorry to hear about your glasses.

Hawkeye pray that diughter get better soon.

We've had warm weather. Trying to hold out, and not turn on the A/C...

36°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 64° today. Back into the 40s for the rest of the week, except for Saturday, which is forecast at 62°, then back to the 30s and 40s. Weeeeee!

Lots more piddly stuff done this weekend. Replaced leaky toilet flapper in the upstairs bathroom, fixed leaking bottom sweep on shower door, installed a few more door stops at Wife's request ... stuff of that nature.

We lost a chicken earlier in the week. She got out of the netting somehow and was roosted high in a tree, so I left her there overnight. Found a few piles of feathers the next morning, and her remains on the north side of the barn. Finally got around to checking the game cam, and confirmed my suspicions it was an owl. A big owl. In one fuzzy photo (it was foggy that night), the neighbors cat made a silly attempt to get involved in the festivities, only to be scared off by the owl spreading it's wings upwards. The tips of those wings were probably four feet tall. Even The Wife said she'd never seen one that big around here. It came back the next night as well, but not after that.

Happy (belated) birthday, David.

Bummer about your skunk problem, wngsprd. We had one earlier this year hanging around the barn for awhile, but it eventually got hit on the road. Used to be a much bigger problem when The Wife's grandmother used to leave cat food on the old back deck all the time. We used moth balls to help cure our groundhog problem in the barn, but never thought to use them for skunks.

Sorry about the chicken PJ. Great horned owls will kill 'em. I hear ours every now and then at night. who who who....I did find out that our chickens will voluntarily go into their coop if it's cold and windy enough. Has to be near freezing and windy. Otherwise, they like to sleep on top of the coop (inside the covered kennel).

Sorry about your well fed owl Paul. They are remarkable raptors.

Truck computer fritzed for third time this morning. Turned it off and on again and fine.
Think I might be downsizing soon. I only need to pull a one ton trailer.

Ted stay warm out there

Time for the new Tesla truck??? :)

if I take this route, how far am I from you Don? Bird? PM me if preferred. I know where Mostly is.
I'm trying to stop each day for lunch some place so wonder how many folks are along the way?
I did not see a reason to see San Antonio other than the Alamo and it's too congested for me.
perhaps I should stop at that ice cream plant for some free samples.

Ice cream plant just off of Hwy 290 between Houston and Austin.

Drew, what day will you be at "C"? I would like to meet up with you if possible, it's 22 miles from house, work is opposite direction though. (68 miles from house to work)... If you find the new chicken ranch, don't tell Marvin Zindler. :)

Been real busy at work...My problem is, I make myself "too available". Everyone comes to me for the things they should look for themselves. I have started telling them "possibly in lab number_____"

Does anyone wear compression socks? Regularly? Why? My feet don't swell, but I can tell where my regular socks have been.

Been listening to some oldies on youtube tonight. PJS, there was a band similar to ELP, called Triumvirat. Some decent stuff, if you like back cut ELP type music.

Our pastor read to us George Washington's proclamation declaring a day of Thanksgiving.

Good morning. I was looking forward to a rare dry day after seeing last nights national forecast. That will not happen though as this morning the same source now says it will rain all day :confused2: - they must have opened the curtains :)

David, your photographer did a great job of capturing all the effort needed to load the genny onto the truck

Thanks to all for the poop tanker laughs.

PJ, I used to take a flask of mushroom soup when fishing in cold weather.
Your "soup wagon" may have finished that tradition. :D

Rick, not come across the box maker before, his workshop will be just over an hour away. He seems to be a man full of grief over those hinges.

Does anyone wear compression socks? Regularly? Why?

I have restless legs syndrome and wear tight fitting long socks to keep my calf muscles from complaining during the day time. No problem in winter and even in summer it's tolerable (I don't mind wearing jeans all the time) and is a far better option for me than when I used to take medication for it.

Got the bench top on yesterday and topped with a layer of sacrificial hardboard. Plan was to lip the edge to stop it sliding off, though in short term may just screw it down and get using it.

good morning all.
Looks like a nice day here, and a good day to drive to VA though I'll probably drive into rain there.
Meeting step-brother in Aldie for lunch and then over to my brother's home in Markham.
Will leave at 6am, boring 5 hour trip up 95. I'd leave earlier but just tempting fate with deer.
Had nice hot shower, drinking my first cup of coffee

went out at dark last night to check on lights, some were working, some dim, two inop. The solar part had very little time to charge so didn't expect much but I guess
I'll have to pull at least one set out if it doesn't turn on. Sometimes the switch is in the wrong spot... Will take more pics this weekend.

looks like this bad weather is going to miss me. Got an email from step brother in Colorado saying he was in Reno trying to get to CA to visit his son and having a tough time of it. Not the best weather to be out in.

49 going to 64.

A few rain drops falling while I was out walking Coco and searching for skunks, so I pulled the tarps back over my firewood pallets. Supposed to get windy, so I'll go back out at light and secure them better.

Eric, great job on that bench.

David, monster generator...the BH looks good on your tractor.

We have a lot of family coming here tonight and tomorrow, so I'll have a lot of assignments from my wife along with some prep I have planned, like roasting more coffee.

After having to help downsize my in-laws, yesterday I decided to so some of my own. Not a lot, but 4 big pieces of dead equipment that I needed to take over to the central county landfill/recycle center on my trailer. Real interesting set up...first you drive through a park full of ball fields, skateboard park, and ponds, then you get to the scales, where they weigh your rig before and after...luckily for county residents it is free. There were easily over 100 black vultures sitting on the grass and on top of a trailer, and walking in the road by the scales...all looked well-fed. Just spooky how tame they were and the "evil eye" they were shooting at me as I walked up to the scale attendant to show him my ID. Then I took my stuff over to the metal recycle building and got some help unloading...better than having to use the come-along to get one item up on the trailer.

Then mowed/mulched leaves for the last time until dark. Got cold fast as the sun set after a day in the 60s.
